Did you hear the one where Romney gave a speech at the NAACP convention and got booed? Yea, I thought so. Never mind then. In the coverage after the speech that is all they talked about. Dems must have been in a tizzy. They laughed at the idea of him suggesting that he would be good for African-Americans.
But the striking story about it, as a few pundits in left media land opined, was that Mitt gave a speech at the NAACP talking to white people. They explained that he was really talking to white people in his base. So he had to go to the NAACP to give a speech to talk to white people? I know, there should have been a punch line there, but there wasn’t.
The narrative spread that he was really only talking to his white base. It is always fascinating to know their convoluted take on Romney’s reasoning. Then they ridiculed him for saying the same things to them that he says to his base or “white people”. Why would he do that? They concluded he won’t win people over there, while admitting Obama got about 95% of the black vote.
Is it just me or does it seem media is digging a giant-sized crater here? They should hope they don’t fall in it. Sounds like that’s their story though, and they’re sticking to it: Mitt Romney went there to talk to his base, or white people.
Meanwhile, Obama cannot fit the event into his itinerary, but he’ll send Biden instead. Wonder what they’ll say about Biden?
