The Spellbound Media

Proof! Establishment media controlled

Exclusive: Joseph Farah scorches ‘journalists’ who are ‘selling their ethical, moral souls’

Joseph Farah – WND

There was a rather low-key confession made in the New York Times last week that deserves to be blared throughout this country so that every American understands what they are reading in the establishment’s ultra-controlled, government-managed “press” – and I use that last word loosely indeed.

The admission came in the form of a story by Jeremy Peters on the politics page of the Times July 16. I’ve been waiting for others to point it out, discuss it, debate it, express shock and exasperation over it. But I’ve waited for naught.

What this shocking story reveals is that even I – one of the kingpins of the new media and a refugee from the state-controlled spin machine – underestimated the utter and total corruption of the euphemistically called “mainstream press.”

It shows that most – not some – members of the print media establishment with access to the White House submit their copy to government officials for review, “correction” and approval before it reaches the American people!

Even “progressive” WND columnist Ellen Ratner agrees – media under a spell!

Here are some key excerpts from the piece, if you think I’m exaggerating:

“The quotations come back redacted, stripped of colorful metaphors, colloquial language and anything even mildly provocative.”

“They are sent by e-mail from the Obama headquarters in Chicago to reporters who have interviewed campaign officials under one major condition: the press office has veto power over what statements can be quoted and attributed by name.”

“Most reporters, desperate to pick the brains of the president’s top strategists, grudgingly agree. After the interviews, they review their notes, check their tape recorders and send in the juiciest sound bites for review. The verdict from the campaign – an operation that prides itself on staying consistently on script – is often no, Barack Obama does not approve this message.”

“Now, with a millisecond Twitter news cycle and an unforgiving, gaffe-obsessed media culture, politicians and their advisers are routinely demanding that reporters allow them final editing power over any published quotations.”

Having a Casablanca moment, are we?

That last part strikes me. All politicians do not have those editing privileges. Only one comes to mind. Trying to claim even many politicians are afforded these liberties would be false. Obama is.

They[NYT] went on to say the Obama administration has taken this process to a new high. Well of course; but any suggestion the process and treatment is the same for Romney’s campaign is ridiculous, just based on their own reporting.

What seems lost, as bad as all that admission is — and it probably caused a few sources to want to wash their mouth out with soap — this means what is said should have an official classification of “WH approved” speech. After all, it is. So whatever is said should be considered “approved”. That was obvious with the Iran computer virus. It was cleared, which inadvertantly means government sanctioned. But as this story indicates, the irony seems lost even on reporters.

So much for unbiased. Yet another reason this bunch would love to shut the new media down. Can’t lie if there are those who can access truth. Can’t control’em like the bootlicks.

      Clyde,

Yea you are exactly right. “Bootlicks” all! To dismiss alternative media, the truth might blow up in their faces. But imagine how far they came? They admitted being in the tank for O-ba-ma in 08. Now they are getting around to admitting there is no honest credible press since, even as we are in a campaign. But obastid is in a perpetual campaign. The audacity of elite arrogance.

Good piece bull. I don’t think there is anything shocking in this page 72 story in the NYT. Hitler, Stalin., et al…, all knew to control the mindless populous one had to take full control of the main stream media and control the message. Not a real brain storm idea there eh? Of course there will always be those that refuse to fall in line like sheep, but they will be so out numbered it’s almost impossible to get the majority to believe in anything except what the dictators want them to believe. Control the message; control the people. How do they control the message? Simple fear. Do as we say or you will never say anything again. As easy as 2 + 2 = 4. It is my personal experience that the majority of people are ignorant, have no desire to do anything about it and will just swallow down all the bull crap served up to them by the media they trust. As we have seen with Hitler, Stalin and Obama that is a very stupid and misplaced trust.

Dave, Glad to see you. Probably nothing new. LOL, They can’t even make a proper confession. Right, its control. This guy brags about his control and they even applaud him for it. It amounts to people doing “stupid pet tricks”. You are spot on in the analysis. Even labeling them “useful idiots” is too mild. The left rants about full disclosure, transparency, and campaign rules when we have this game going on. And its only getting worse.

Can you imagine one of the founders saying ‘the president shall always have veto power over the press’? Why didn’t they write that somewhere?

    Bull,

Wow, what a story. And of course it is no shock that the lame stream media are an arm of the government. But this takes things to a whole new level of corruption.

I guess that is why the Deviant in the WH just signed an executive order to take control of the Internet under any circumstances. I imagine he’s getting ready to shut down free speech on there too.

God help us all. This creep needs to go and fast.

      Pepp,

You know, sometimes I wish we were reading fiction but it ain’t. I have a feeling Barry is so tickled with his control. He can play golf and laugh about it all he way through the back nine. If any kind of objectivity shows its face, or doesn’t go as planned, he’s going to be one pissed off red diaper baby. And right, I can see that shutdown just looming likea black cloud. Will it be tomorow, the next day, or right before election? Or could be after. Is there any power he hasn’t tried to use?

So far he believes he is in control, and the minute he thinks he is not we’re in for it. In one way their loyalty pacifies his wrath. But if they don’t fall in line, whenever necessary, we have a time bomb sitting in the Office.

      Right, God help us.

        Bull,

I know, I wish it were fiction to or a bad dream we were having and someday we would wake up and find out we still had our Republic.

Oh, I’m sure that Deviant laughs all the time at us. He has not made his dislike of us a secret.

I don’t think there is anything left he hasn’t tried on us. I wonder how he would be able to shut down the entire Internet. Does he call each ISP and tell them to shut down the satellite signals, cable, what? How does he do that?

Truer words have not been spoken. We do have a time bomb sitting in the oval office. He actually needs to be marched out of there and put into an institution for the criminally insane. Locked up forever. Or tried for treason. That would be better. And all of his radical minions.

It is just so frustrating to watch Congress do nothing about him when they know doggone well he is stomping all over the Constitution, committing fraud, many crimes and misdemeanors. It doesn’t even take a legal scholar to figure that one out.

He, Rezko and Blago can share a cell next to all the miscreants he spawned under him. I think putting Holder in contempt was a compliment like a promotion for him. It elevated him far above what he and his liar in chief deserve. But they treat him fairly and it looks like a circus with him as the main act. There should have been a giant warning label on the ballot next to Obama’s name. Why can’t they reopen Alcatraz for this bunch…and see if there’s any truth to the rumors?

            Bull,

I’ve wondered that too about reopening Alcatraz. I would put the Evil Doers that all are over the WH and the people who call themselves liberals but are actually radicals, enemies of our country all into that place where they can never get at us ever again. And we didn’t have to listen to their stupid arguments. Take away their free speech. They’re all criminals, they deserve nothing.

Oh, no doubt Holder wears his contempt charge as a badge of honor. Dolt!

          Pepp,

He probably has a switch right hext to the red button, and next to the “campaign phone”. A giant filter or scrambler. But I bet it comes with the same warnings we see on the new emergency system tests.(ones that seem to coincide with news…or is it just me) This last threat about the virus last week rvealed how skeptical people are. When they put out a site to run a test to check your system, just to make sure you are safe. Right. People were so leery about what they were doing. I have heard about the other internet (they’ve built) which coincidentally was about ready to roll out. What possibilities are there in that? And how much more info would they know about a person? It only makes sense when you think of the unlimited power of government. I can’t remember the name of the program, internet 2 though. (ha ha but they can always change the names anyway, make me laugh)They will protect us, what a hoot. All whike they scheme to make treaties with the UN, they are looking out for us. Hilarious

Oh, I never thought about a huge scrambler where he can not only send bombs out but bring down the Internet, take out the grid, and call for Marshall law. Nothing there to make anyone suspicious!

A new internet? Internet 2? And just what would that contain, propaganda mega?

Ya know, I actually think Obastid is losing it. He seems to have these 007 plans without the toys 007 had.

Oh, yeah, he and Hillary working together to dump on us and we’re supposed to feel safe???????? OMG! That is too funny. I see thousands upon thousands of Americans commenting all over the Internet just how unsafe they feel with this Liar in Chief. People are arming themselves to the teeth and we feel safe? Right, it’s utterly hilarious.

    Bull,

btw, you might not see Dave again at least today. He made a sexist remark on my blog, of all things to do. Then he comes back on and wants the Hawk to tell him if he can be locked up in the doghouse with the Hawk and Merlin. Silly man! What does he think my German shepherd would do to him? He’d tear Dave from limb to limb. Anyway, just go along with the joke. LOL! :-d
