Oh no you didn’t

You didn’t build that!

I get a kick out of the argument over what Obama said. Obama and the left say it is ridiculous, that’s not what he meant. Okay, what about it? They said he was talking about roads and bridges. So he meant, “didn’t build the roads and bridges”. That is their point. But does it really matter? They both mean the same thing. One is a more subtle way of saying the same thing. Both statements lead to the same destination. And there is no question about the destination: that “you didn’t get there on your own” and no one really does.

So what difference does it make if he meant “build that” business or referred to roads and bridges, when either one would be the same argument? If they have their revision, it’s the same argument. And when you hear the whole context, there is no doubt what he was talking about. He was talking about the same thing. It clearly means you didn’t build that business by yourself, that you had help, or that you could not have built it yourself.

What if the owner did not build the roads and bridges, they still built a business. Must they have built the whole infrastructure in order to say they built their business? Be serious. Businesses never claimed o have built all the roads and bridges themselves. But Obama, like Elizabeth Warren, was knocking business owners and entrepreneurs down a few pegs. To humiliate them that their success was contingent on the rest of the country and the government, or others. The point: to shame them into feeling they owe government and telling them that their businesses are dependent on government and others. But did government or the rest of the country share in the risk of that business? Did government put in the hours and sweat? Obviously not.

It seems to be a one-way street with Liberal progs. They don’t want to admit that government reaps rewards of individual’s hard work. Nor admit that government has a dependency on individual businesses. (some feel it is a parasite feeding on the fruits of their work) Society benefits from them. But so-called “progressives” want to dismiss that part of the two-way “highway”. They opened this can of worms to send a message to business owners out there, to make businesses and owners appreciate government. “Government made your success possible, now pay up.”

But don’t you think government ought to appreciate the businesses and entrepreneurs a little? Show some love and appreciation. Don’t kick them in the teeth and then try to tell them all government did to help them. So everyone should rally around singing praises to government? Oh, forget the obstacles it throws up and roadblocks it constructs. And it is not like government – big as it is – can do everything on its own. It doesn’t fix your car, manufacture a refrigerator for you, or set your broken bone, or perform surgery on you. Uncle Sam doesn’t do it all by himself. (I know that is hard for Liberals to accept) That rebar they put in the road or bridge came from somewhere. The government doesn’t make the asphalt in the White House, and it doesn’t make concrete on the South Lawn. It doesn’t create or supply the inventory. It didn’t make the armor for its own vehicles. The money comes from taxpayers and those trucks pay highway and road taxes. People buy muni bonds.

We are only arguing about it because the left wants to create the illusion that they and Obama did not mean what they clearly said, even though you are supposed to get the intended message – loud and clear. Message received. And the Left certainly knows what they are saying and what they meant. Instead, they’d rather deny that is the message while saying that the message is true. Got it?

And now Obama runs an ad to say his words were taken out of context. The meaning and context are the same either way.

    Bull, excellent article.

The Deviant wants us to believe he was taken out of context, but if you read his speech, it is obvious he was not taken out of context. He can blow his mouth off all he wants and his minions follow his lie but for businesses they got what he said pretty well. He has them in a rage now.

The government is us so we paid for the roads and bridges through our tax dollars, bonds, etc. So he is even wrong when he makes that ridiculous argument.

He’s running scared and Romney has had him on the defense with that comment for several weeks now. I hope Romney keeps him on defense. LOL!

The creature in the WH is one big LIE himself. He wouldn’t know the truth if he saw it. It is his Alinsky tactics to lie, lie, and lie some more and never admit you made a mistake. Despicable creature!

I’m surprised he didn’t use the old standby “I misspoke” instead of I told a big fat lie.

He’s been victimized, poor Barry, taken out of context. I wish he would put some context in things like his records. I hope Mitt keeps he heat on, Lord knows media won’t.

Hey, how about the government we pay for and supposedly elect that plays footsie in bed with all the unions? Hijacked. His socialist friend in Mass and he make a great pair. Maybe he can make her a czar if she loses.

Oh yeah, poor, poor little Barry, so misunderstood. We the people just cannot understand a man of his magnificence. The bastard son of who knows and his white mother who he hates makes him for a rabid mental disease.

Romney is on his butt every day. He needs to do that and keep that jerk on the defense where he belongs. The Deviant is the one who hides everything. I’d like to see someone call him out on his lack of transparency. But no one does.

That Warren woman is as nuts as the Deviant. I would have no doubts that he would make her a czar if she loses. She is just the type for him. Useful idiot.

She is a very useful idiot for Obastid. Those comments….ah, his lecture should have sealed the deal. I can’t believe the number of people repeating his gibberish. Especially after the butt kicking in 2010. They follow Lenin’s old maxim, “probe with bayonets…If you meet steel, stop. If you meet mush, then push” or, if you encounter mush, proceed; if you encounter steel, withdraw. That is what they are doing, probing.

Very well written bull! The sumbitch knows exactly what he said and exactly what he meant. The only thing he never knows is when he’s shoving his own illegal foot in his mouth. He is such a frigging dumb ass! He uses us like a think tank. Throw out a comment to us and if we complain that is not what he intended. If we agree…well…that is the luck he was hoping for. He’s had zero luck in my home. “Why’s everybody always picking on me?”…poor Obastid. Sing it bro with no fro!

Now about business; which I do know a little bit about. All a business owner needs is a product to sell and customers willing to buy it. It’s not a real brain storm idea. Supply the product at a price the customer is willing to pay, be smart enough to make the profit you need and then offer excellent customer service. Doesn’t take a PhD in Business to figure this out. Don’t take my comment wrong. I greatly admire business owners and the government has little to do with how it operates. There are only two things the government can do to effect a business: Get in its way and hurt it or stay the hell out of its way and help it.

And the federal government doesn’t have shit to do with roads! When the section of interstate 75 that runs through KY needs to be worked on the state of KY pays for it to be done. And where does the state of KY get its money? From us people via taxes. If the fed’s do help pay for the building of new roads, they got the money from us via taxes. The federal government creates nothing. The federal government pays for nothing. We the people do it all one way or another. These commies and their F’ed up ideas really piss me off!!!

You’re on the money with that. And the fed has such a great record on business doesn’t it? Where’s them 600 dollar toilet seats and that 50 dollar a gallon fuel? What was that “giant sucking sound” I heard? They can’t manage themselves and we can’t even keep track of them. Some moonbat says ain’t government wonderful and has people cheering her on. All he knows how to do is raise money and buy votes. That is his profession — besides sucking all the oxygen out of the room. (its not even a good protection racket) How come the little guy can make it work but big-gubmint with all its power and printing press can’t ? Maybe he really has a one-term wish after all?

As always a great read here, bullright. Personally, I think of government as something of a “necessary evil.” While I don’t dismiss the proper role of government, it should be limited limited limited and oh, did I mention limited?

Mrs. Al, I agree necessary evil. Limited exactly. Well put. Possibly, as someone said, small enough to drown in a bathtub. But I think the trouble is when we think nothing is possible without government. But they do inject their way into everything they can.

Well, Dave, I guess if I am to be consistent with my thinking, I would have to say that when I compare and contrast the similarities and differences between the U.S. Constitution and the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution created a much stronger and powerful central government. Now does that mean I reject the Constitution, NO. It just means that perhaps the States gave away more of their sovereignty than they intended.

Then again, I have been all wet in the past and it would not be the first time.

LOL!!! You are certainly not all wet! I agree they probably gave away more power than they intended, but they did leave the states a lot of power to simply so no to the feds. One of the problems I see is the states don’t exercise their constitutional right to tell the feds to take a hike. Obamacare never even needed to go to the SCOTUS for a ruling. The states are granted the power of the constitution to have just told the feds NO! The changes since the constitutions original draft has led to a down hill slide that cannot now be stopped.

What really gets to me is Obama is surrounded with the same mindset, they all think and act alike. It might be better if it were only him. You can hear the same thing from Warren, the same ultra-left socialist view, and people cheering every word.

The top 50% of income earners (key word here) paid 98% of the income taxes. The top 10% paid 71% of ALL the federal taxes. It would only have taken 27% of their income to have paid for all the roads, bridges, electircal, gas, and all the utilities and the people to run it, as well as to fund all of the military to defend it. The rest of that has been spent on turtle tunnels, billion dollar giveways to countries that repeatedly vote against us in the UN, re-election boondoggles and parties, lavish offices and staff. and thousand of other un-enumerated and unconstitutional expenditures.
So the people addressed by Presbo and his syndicate in, “you didn’t build that”, may NOT have built it, but they certainly funded having it built. And those cost overruns, seems like they are due a refund.

Still think that the only likely effective plan to stop the roller coaster from crashing is intervention by the state governments. If the state government steps in and becomes the funnel through which federal income taxes are paid (as they were at one time), then the state can also shield the citizens from the repurcussions therein, while putting a clamp on the unconstitutional expenditures. If the states don’t, then it all eventually becomes moot as the economic collapse occurs and the money supply becomes worthless. So it IS in the state’s interest to do so.

Once this gets started, the ability of the federal government to keep borrowing to cover the unconstitutional expenditures would also start to slide. It is one ready way for the states to exert their sovereignty under the 10th Amendment that they will never get back from a voluntary Senate.
They have the control NOW. They just have to use it. Just like the House, which claims powerlessness in the face of the Reid-controlled Senate who does everything along party lines.

For now, EVERY expenditure that the federal govenrment does originates and gets apportioned in the House. They could tomorrow, cease funding most of the unconstitutional things that are going on, just by spelling out wherre the funding is going. The corrupted spending would die on the vine. 85% of Obamacare would disappear tomorrow if the House so decided. They are colluding with the Senate supporitng the status quo and hoping to corrupt the newbies before a fresh crop rolls in .
