If it looks like a duck…it’s a pig.

And adding a little lipstick to it would not hurt.

WASHINGTON | Mon Feb 13, 2012 1:58pm EST
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama proposed slashing subsidies to the booming agriculture sector by $32 billion over the next decade, just as Congress begins the lengthy process of overhauling the expiring U.S. farm law.

August 13, 2012 Obama speech in Council Bluffs, Iowa

Coinciding with Obama’s appearance here was an announcement from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture that it will purchase up to $170 million worth of agricultural products– a move intended to buoy an industry ailing under a major drought. – DesMoine Register reports.

Now he is actually stumping on farm subsidies, after proposing huge cuts in his budget. His criticism is aimed at Ryan for standing in the way of a farm bill. Now he wants to portray Ryan as the cutter in chief. Aka the bad guy. So he’s calling the Iowa dogs out to attack Ryan on standing in the (his) way.

Sure it is hypocritical, but its also his political M O. He proposed cuts, including 5 billion/year direct payments to farmers, hoping for 32 billion cut over 10 years.

Now he and his dep of Agriculture announce a 170 million dollar agri-products spending (subsidy) program to Iowan farmers, in a thinly veiled vote purchase. 100 million in pork products. Along with pushing a farm bill. This also had an immediate effect on hog futures, pushing them up 1.70 for December contracts.

No word yet on the mood of pigs.

Can you spell SCHIZOPHRENIC??? We KNOW what this is. Vote buying. figuring the farmers of Iowa are too stupid to know they’re being had.

$32 billion away. $170 million back. Then trumpet both his frugality AND his generosity. This is only possible with the collusion of the lib-prog media.

Excellent post! All the radical’s do is attempt a 180 to hide their previous moves to destroy our nation hoping no one sees them pivot. I don’t think that is going to work good enough for them this time. Obastard is doing 180’s so much he can hardly stand up from being so dizzy!

Dave, thanks. Its glaring isn’t it? I say it should be the worst case of whiplash we’ve seen. He must be awful used to it. But how he remembers where he’s been, on positions, is beyond me. But then it should be SOOO obvious to people. This sounds like when he touted his jobs act, just another huge spending “stimulus”. Then he’ll talk about the roads and bridges again, but only 6% of that went to them.

    The DesMoine Register piece says:
““Now, I’m told Gov. Romney’s new running mate might be around Iowa these next few days,” …. “He’s one of those leaders of Congress standing in the way. So if you happen to see Congressman Ryan, tell him how important this farm bill is to Iowa and our rural communities. It’s time to put politics aside and pass it right away.”

Imagine that, Obama telling them “to put politics aside” and act? This guy never sees past politics. It’s ONLY politics. At the same time he is touts “Let’s keep investing in the clean energy that’s never been more promising.”

Under “never been more promising” we got Solyndra-gate, as promising as you can get. Solyndra was “a good bet”. And fuel, which farmers depend on(like everyone), going through the roof under his watch. He’s just full of great news. His answer blame Romney and Ryan. There are things people need to remember as his good news wagon rolls through the country.

Did Obastard happen to mention to the good folks in Iowa that HIS proposal cuts $32M from the farmers budget? I’m sure he didn’t.

Did HE happen to mention Ryan voted yes for the bill just passed to allow the fed gov to buy up a shit load of failing crops due to the drought? I’m sure he didn’t.

Obastard never acts; he only reacts with deception and lies.

A pig in a poke.” as they say — is a good characterization for Obama.

Now the Chat en Poche is out of the bag and a scary number of people are still insisting that it is not a cat.

    • bullright says:

So right. LOL – ‘A scary number’. You know, from the beginning he ran a faith-based campaign. (requiring a real leap) That was key. So even when the scam is exposed, they still want to beleive. (I bet Madoff had many of them.)

  7. Just Gene says:

If I understand it correctly the Farm Bill had already passed and Ryan voted for it. I guesss if you make a lie so unbelievible it must be true.

  8. bullright says:

Bad news for Iowans: It may be a severe drought for Iowa farmers, but it’s a watershed moment in politics for Obama.

  9. pepperhawk says:

I heard Ryan voted to help the farmers in congress. So what is the Deviant’s deal here? Just more demonizing through lies. He makes me want to puke.
