Biden posits Insurgent Obama

Meanwhile, back on the ranch in Virginia

The Hill reports

Biden hits Ryan record, likens it to ‘running against an incumbent’

“Congressman Ryan and his Congressional Republicans, as one person said, have already done what Gov. Romney is promising he will do for the nation,” Biden said before a crowd of nearly 900 people at a research center in southern Virginia. “So this is one of those rare cases. It’s almost like running against an incumbent. Everybody knows what we stand for and what we want to do. We are making it as clear as we can make it.” –

Biden now carefully tries to assert the central theme of Obama’s campaign since the start: Run as an insurgent candidate. It has been largely ignored. Facing daunting polls and a sickly economy, plagued by a microcosm of failures and problems in his term, team Obama strategized the only chance he had to win would be running as an outsider, thus an insurgent campaign.

“We are making it as clear as we can make it.” That is a joke, right Joe?

This is ludicrous on its face. It is laughable in theory, Obama is the “incumbent”. Once again, he tries to be something he’s not. It would be akin to Obama running against himself. Still they said this was his route to success.

In April, 2011 it was described this way (4:50 in video),

We ought to NOT act like an incumbent. We ought to act like an insurgent campaign that wakes up every single day, trying to get every single vote we can. So every single day we have to go scratch and claw for those votes. — Jim Messina.

Of course, his big problem is that Romney is not the incumbent — he doesn’t have to act. The fact is Barack Obama is the incumbent as much as he tries to pretend he is not. Isn’t that like running against yourself… or running away from yourself? So does that make Obama ‘Insugent in Chief’? It is hard to argue with the “scratching and clawing” part though.

More like the campaign of illusions.

Of all places, Gaffes Biden goes to Va. to say that.

Try to tell people in Virginia, with all the havoc Obama foisted on them, that you guys are not the incumbents. Or that it’s Romney who has been basically at war with the state, like many others? Good luck with that sale… I doubt they feel Romney is the incumbent. I think they know who’s hurting them, Joe. It might be tough to fool them.

It only shows how out of touch they are with reality.

Can’t wait to see the veep debate. It ought to be hilarious. Gaffes says not to run as the incumbent. Well, with the DISMAL record these idjits have,I can see why.

The Gaffer was working overtime in VA to look like as big a fool as we’ve come to expect. I only give him 4.5 stars. He could have done better aaaaaaaaand he will! Of course for all l know Gaffer still doesn’t know they won the election in 08′.

The Gaffer went on telling an audience in southern Virginia that included hundreds of black voters that Republican Mitt Romney wanted to put them “back in chains” by deregulating Wall Street. There ya’ go Joey; I knew you could do better and get 5 stars.

Wow; Mitt putting the shackles back on the blacks and Ryan pushing granny over a cliff in her wheel chair. If those comments don’t scream the INCUMBENTS are freaking out with panic, than I have no idea what kind of comments would.

I think Jeff Foxworthy should be in charge of the veep debate, because that night should be hilarious. Obastard may send The Gaffer there with his lips sown together…

Dave, yea working over time. LMAO Slippery tongue Joe.
Obama panders to hog farmers and Biden makes him into an insurgent candidate. Hard to put the two together.

LMAO….you got a way with words. So true. Can’t ya smell what they’re cooking? And everyone says ‘there goes Joey again, ha ha he he… ain’t it cuter than a fart?’ He’s not only allowed to say those things, we expect them. Sad reflection for Joe. But they probably load them in the tele-p just so he won’t blow the line. Maybe they’ll let him do a correspondents dinner if he ever gets a chance? Heaven help us if we do see it. .

The kick I’m getting is all the Dems and the defenders, ‘it wasn’t anything, we know Joe’. He should have delivered that line to the NAACP. He did blow it… he forgot. He gets celebrated for it, and Romney gets slammed for complaining, go figure. They don’t disappoint. But they can read anything into anything Mitt says. No, media doesn’t care they’re busy talking about the impact of “the Book of Mormon” and the latest polygamy case, just in time for the election. Fancy that?

But don’t worry, Dave, its not just Joey, the golden tongue will have a few more unscripted ‘truth pukes’ before its over. “You didn’t build that teleprompter, Barry.” All that talk about pork must be building to a climax.

LMAO Foxworthy doing debates, now that’s prime time at its finest. 🙂 Walter and Biden sharing the stage, I go with Walter. He might resign and plead ‘no contest’. sorry, I was thinking Dunham. But Foxworthy is good.

bull, LMAO! Yeah; I can smell what they’re cooking and the only way to make bullsh*t smell worse is to throw it in a frying pan. I simply don’t understand all the sympathy they give The Gaffer, but on the other hand he is so simple minded I guess he does deserve some sympathy. If they could only color code his words like his pajamas…

Dunham is a good choice for sure. I only thought of Jeff because he loves comedy and he’s already use to proving so many adults are dumber than a 5th grader…so…sorry Joey.

Dave, I’m thinking the memos are probably out exactly what Joe wants them to ask in the debates. About all his experience and foreign policy so they can’t give Ryan an opening. I bet they try to fix it. Look at Gingrich in South Carolina. If its fair I’ll be surprised. Nothing is too dirty for the Marxist brothers.

      • Davetherave says:

bull, I’m sure the questions will be scripted by the WH, but they are still concerned, The Gaffer keeps blaming global warming as the reason Iceland is melting. He’s not worried about Greenland…

    USA Today reptorted:
At a campaign rally in Danville, Va., Biden quoted Romney as saying that
“in the first hundred days he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules — unchain Wall Street.”

“They’re going to put y’all back in chains,” Biden added, presumably referring to Romney and new running mate Paul Ryan.

An Explanation came from Biden, according to abc Political Punch:
“We don’t have to imagine anymore. The details are there. Here’s what Congressman Ryan said. He said, ‘We believe a renewed commitment to limited government will unshackle our economy.’ The Speaker of the House said, [he] used the word ‘unshackled’ as well, referring to their proposals. The last time these guys unshackled the economy, to use their term, they put the middle class in shackles. That’s how we got where we are,” Biden said in Wyethville.

Finally, we got from Biden that they had used that word unshackled, but they were referring to the economy – not “Wall Street”. Biden dribbled on that others (on the right) have used that word, such as Boehner. Okay, but did anyone say “unshackle Wall Street”? I highly doubt that. But nice dancing routine.

However, I checked on the web. Sure enough someone used those words. It was in an article. A journalist, I don’t think he is a right-winger judging by the piece. It was back in Jan and in UK papers. The exact quote by James Fenton, in writing about the primaries, was: “Jan 13th: “Isn’t it the Democrats who hate the free market and want to shackle Wall Street?” The article appeared in a few papers.

Biden shows his low class demonizing by using black lingo to say the repubs will “put them back in chains”. Then he tries to make it better by saying “shackles”. This campaign is disgusting.

    • bullright says:

Right it’s disgusting, each day it manages to get worse and those sops are still going to vote for him. Based on what I’d like to know. All the left says that’s just Joe, that’s how he rolls. But he’s just vice president too. Notice he said Wall Street. I don’t know anyone who has said that. Its always the economy..As usual we get a lecture about taking it out of context, but as usual the first part was just as bad. These guys can’t even be accountable for their own words much less anything else.
