Economic Stupidity

The old “its the economy, stupid” line is relevant now. But I think there is another way to look at it. I think the line could be tweaked to “It’s the economics, stupid“. Bad economics don’t work and they don’t help the economy..

The economics of big spending don’t work. It is not just the economy, its the entire bad economics they use. Saying “it’s the economy” doesn’t do it justice. They’d like to try to fix the economy by applying bad economics. What once was a theme and the major problem is not the same today. The economy is just one part of the whole problem. Today its so much more than the economy.

Dems will say they want to get the debt under control, but by spending more money. According to Obama and Krugman & company, the problem is we didn’t spend enough money. Besides, votes are expensive too.

‘No budget – no worry.’ If they are looking for a new slogan, that one would work today. On top of that, people are asking questions and looking for the jobs and recovery this guy promised, with all his freewheeling spending plans. Heaven knows he’s spent enough. Explain that they can’t. How can you make the guy who is out of work feel a little better so he’ll vote for you? That is their quandary. The prescription is Joe Biden.

So instead of dealing with the economics, we get Biden reducing it to a nice bumper sticker, telling people:

“We are better off… You want to know whether we’re better off?” Biden said to a cheering crowd of about 3,500 people in downtown Detroit. “I’ve got a little bumper sticker for you: Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive.” – cbs news

That bumper sticker also reveals their entire strategy for 2012. We’re supposed to think that GM is the economy, or that their failed economics work. Those two things were to assure his reelection. We hear from accounts of the bin Laden raid that was part of the politics of the bin Laden decision — or indecision at times. Then they wasted no time rolling out the White House account. So what if details differ with it? We knew that behind the decisions or schemes of this prez was always his reelection strategy. And now its the bumper sticker for his campaign, surprise.

Joe Biden and Barack Obama are better off today, not the average family that has lost net worth and income.

Then Joe went further to distract from the truth. He set his laser to attack mode as only Joe can.

Of Romney and vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, he said, “They don’t believe in your very right to bargain. … They view you, the working men and women of America, as the problem. You’re the solution in America.”

Let me get this straight Romney and Ryan (and the whole GOP for the sake of argument) believe “working men and women of America” are the problem? I thought Obama was the master of the straw man. But then that is his answer to the problems, more specious reasoning and bad economics. Romney wants to reduce the burdens on people and the middle class and he’s against working men and women? Old Joe can’t see or admit the problem unions dug us into, but that is “working men and women of America” to Biden.

Here’s their secret formula: 1 part blame worked into a lather and spread around generously, 1 part specious reasoning, and 2 parts bad enconomics = the solution. They sometimes alter the recipe but that’s the basic one.

All we get from Obama and his minions is the blame game. As if fixing blame on anyone else corrects the problem. The only critical thing is they don’t blame him. A CEO has to be accountable for the company under them but not the president. More dangerous ideology from the grand masters of demagoguery.

And if people really believe the politics and the party is about them, they are the big losers.

Saved GM ????? Their cars have more parts made outside the USA than some of the so called foreign manufacturers. Then look up the speech by the President of Cadillac, building plants in China and moving the technology department there. Saved GM ????? for China – where are the unions that raised hell about Boeing moving to Carolina which is in the USA. Do you think the profits they make with cheap labor (or maybe those workers can join the UAW and get decent wages) will be used to pay back the taxpayers. I wonder what China’s immigration laws are – maybe some of the unemployed can get jobs there.

Gene, good point. Maybe Obama can go organize them. China should send a thank you note. Then there’s GE too. But then there is Solyndra, his good bet, a great investment. It turned out to be a donation. He wouldn’t know the difference between a donation and an investment.

    From the article:
Romney campaign spokesman Amanda Henneberg issued a statement in response to Biden’s speech that said, in part, “The truth is that the middle class has been crushed in the Obama economy. Unemployment remains high, incomes have fallen, and gas prices have doubled. Americans aren’t better off than they were four years ago, and they deserve a president who recognizes that.”

    Good post bull!

“Are we better off today…” Great job recycling Ronald Reagan’s question that destroyed Jimmy Jama Carter. Someone at Mitty’s camp did their research! I’m sure the radicals believe they are better off, our countries better off; the whole damn world is better off…and that pretty much shows they have a terminal case of the dumb ass. I give em’ six months and they’ll die of terminal dumb ass…

There’s no way anyone can truthfully believe we are better off. Give me just one indicator we are better off…just one. Jobs? Nope! Debt? Nope! Housing market? Nope! Household income? Nope! Gas price? Nope! Cost of groceries? Nope! GDP? Nope! Energy independence? Nope! Afghanistan? Nope! Value of dollar? Nope! Green energy? R U KIDDING ME!!! And on and on. Everything is worse now than it was four years ago. And I want the damn radicals to quit telling me what the sumbitch stopped from happening. Ya’ can’t measure what someone stopped from happening. That’s a good example of their recipe ya’ talk about bull.

The debt will reach $16 trillion tonight and everything is worse than four years ago. The Gay Charade got his shot and he missed the target so badly he killed people across the pond!

Dave. Right you kill me LOL. Too much common sense, can’t have that. There is no real indicator that measures anything improved. But you gave me an idea for their Con-ven-ti-on:

They should throw him a “sweet sixteen party” … and then they can all party like its 1984. But these people would celebrate record spending. They must be proud even if they don’t admit it. (but that’s another issue…..)

    Great post Bull.

You nailed this. I am so sick of their lies I can barely listen to one more thing they have to say. And Biden sure is a liar and a buffoon who gets passes every time he gaffes.

The same principles of Obamanomics will work no better than it did this past 4 years and we’re already heading back into another recession. Oh, sure, bang up job, you idiot Marxist.

The real truth Bull is they do NOT want to fix the economy. They want us to crash into a 3rd world country. Obama hates America and Americans. And, he’s out to punish us and the country for what he perceives as the Great Imperial America. Another lie though, because in all the times we have helped out other countries not once did we claim their land and colonize it. Stupid and insane.

Pepp, I see it like this: if he doesn’t believe he personally can be blamed for it one way or another then it really isn’t a problem for him. And there are probably enough like-minded in his base who believe that way. Politics rules. But America has shown him he can get away with a lot and we seem to show him limitless forgiveness even for his intentional errors.I just heard today someone in the NYT had a piece questioning Valerie Jarrett; do we really know who she is and why she needs personal SS protection? I laughed and said why not? What’s new with that. They finally care?

        Bull,

You’re right that they have plenty of other “like minded” people who will not place any blame or responsibility on the Liar in Chief. I saw some of his operatives on Sunday blaming Bush again. This blame Bush thing is not even working anymore. The polls say no, the people put the blame on Obastard.

That bothers me a great deal that with how bad things have been the last 4 years and there are people who have given up feeling hopeless, that they would still forgive him. I don’t think they get the big picture of what he’s up to.

Valerie Jarret needs SS protection because she is actually the real president, not Obama. I read that within those White Mosque walls, she and Michelle rule the roost over the Liar.

    by Fox News Insider

Now that the bailout is back in the news and being touted as an Obama victory, we thought an auto bailout refresher might be in order. Here’s a timeline of major events and monies paid:

    TARP Passage
The Senate voted Oct. 1, 2008 to pass a revised version of the TARP bill (HR 1424) and the House voted Oct. 3, 2008 to clear the measure.

    Stimulus Passage
The House approved the $862 billion stimulus package on Feb. 13, 2009. The Senate also approved the measure on Feb. 13.

NOTE: In February 2009, the CBO estimated that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act would increase budget deficits by a total of $787 billion between fiscal years 2009 and 2019. In January 2010, the CBO released a new budget outlook in which they updated their projections for the stimulus bill. CBO now anticipates that the ARRA will increase deficits by $862 billion between 2009 and 2019. $862 billion is the total cost of the 2009 stimulus bill.

bull, another wonderful investment Obastid pulled off with our money. They hail the Turd In Chief for saving all the jobs by bailing out GM. Oh yeah; hail to him alright, but rather to hell with him.

Walmart is the biggest job provider outside the government and I wonder, if they were about to go belly up if Barry would help them out. Oh that’s right; Walmart is not unionized, so I guess that answers my question. The asshole was just taking care of his union votes when he let us become part owners in GM…
