Democratic aide: GOP thinks “lying is a virtue”

(CBS News) As President Obama and the Democrats gear up for their convention in Charlotte, N.C., this week, Democrats unpacked their thoughts on last week’s Republican convention. Senior campaign aide Stephanie Cutter said she gathered that Republicans “think lying is a virtue.”

“It was a week of personal attacks, empty platitudes, and the one thing you were left with is they really think lying is a virtue,” Cutter said on “Face the Nation” Sunday.

When asked by host Bob Schieffer if she thinks Republicans are liars, she walked the statement back, slightly. “I heard a lot of things that weren’t true last week,” she said, pointing to vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan’s assertion that President Obama’s policies closed a Janesville, Wis., plant. The plant actually closed in 2008, before Mr. Obama took office. [….]

David Plouffe: Romney Campaign Built on ‘Tripod of Lies’

[excerpt]

(abc news) White House senior adviser David Plouffe charged that the Romney campaign is “built on a tripod of lies,” criticizing the Republican ticket for their attacks on President Obama over welfare, Medicare, and small businesses.

“Right now their campaign is built on a tripod of lies,” Plouffe told me this morning on “This Week.” “A welfare attack that is just absolutely untrue. The suggestion we’re raiding Medicare – absolutely untrue. And then this whole ‘we can’t build it’ nonsense.”

“I don’t think we’ve ever seen a presidential campaign ever that’s built on a foundation of absolute lies. And I think ultimately they’re going to pay a price for that,” Plouffe added.
[…/ ]
Democratic National Committee chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz charged Thursday that the Romney campaign was playing the race card with the welfare attack, using it as a “dog whistle” for voters to consider race.

Michelle Obama (convention speech)

“I love that for Barack, there is no such thing as “us” and “them” – he doesn’t care whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or none of the above … he knows that we all love our country … and he’s always ready to listen to good ideas … he’s always looking for the very best in everyone he meets.”

They’ve institutionalized it.
And we’ve never seen a presidency built on such a foundation of lies.

Excellent article once again depicting the Alinsky party as one big convention of “PROJECTION”.

Wow, did I spell a lot of words wrong in that comment! I’m so addled and tired today.
“A tripod of lies”. Hilarious coming from the party whose whole platform is built on lies and then accuse the Republicans of lying.

Stephanie Cutter of all people, who called Romney a felon, then repeated it over and over. She never quits.

And Moochelle, now there;s a big fat liar if there ever was one. No narcissistic borderline personality (which is Obama) is capable of any compassion for anyone other than themselves. And to say he doesn’t care who it is whether it’s republican, democrat (no longer exists). What a bunch of cow manure. He’s constantly attacking the “enemy” and that is how he sees them because they don’t want to do what he wants. And that is his mental disease.

Bloody hell, Bull, you must have a strong stomach to listen to this. I didn’t watch any of it last night. I saw some clips today and all I heard was one person after another talking about Romney’s Swiss bank account.

Pepp, yea its disgusting on steroids, isn’t it? I knew hypocrisy was king on the left ….well, besides Obama. But I couldn’t have guessed how rampant it would be. Its a full-blown epidemic of compulsive liars. And I see all the fact checkers are on vacation, must be from all that overtime last week checking for sentence structure.

I haven’t seen all of it but had enough exposure to test my temper. (no meds so far) It was like Weekend at Bernies when they rolled out the Ted Kennedy clips. Use a dead guy to attack Romney. Now we’ve seen it all. Top that!

All the critics last week said all the Repubs did was attack Obama. I wondered what they were watching. They weren’t they were reading from their script. History again, a rapist will nominate the prez for another term. That is while they pander for the women’s vote. I never said hypocrisy was easy.

Michelle is something. I don’t know what she was talking about. We know who he is….which is why he is so disliked. No lipstick will help that one.

        Bull,

Sure thing. It is on steroids and so high they could actually kill themselves. I’ve never seen anything with so many lies packed into small a time. I just watched Klinton and I laughed the whole way through. The Big King Con Artist gave it his all, telling his lies and very long indeed, like 50 minutes of it.

He also sounded schizoid at times. But the bottom line he did the deed Obama wanted. Elect Obama if you want jobs, medical care, ad nausea,.

Well I didn’t see all the repubs attacking Obama. So yeah they must have been watching a hockey game instead. LOL!

Pepp, exactly. My thoughts too. I was hoping to hear one person say whoa scary. It reminded me — not that I needed it — of slick Willy and what I dislike about him. And maybe it was a reminder to others. I laughed too but saw the looks and cheers.Sophistry. Dems aren’t noted for following long explainations ‘critically’. Big con artist from Hope. It wasn’t half hearted.

Now can those pundits awake from their sleep and remember Bubba was not what they are attributing to his greatness? I’ve listened to the Repubs gushing over him too long, maybe it will stop. Those comparisons even against Obama are not helpful when they are building up this man.

But the funny thing is tomorrow people will see the real guy on the ticket. And hopefully Klintoon stole some of his thunder and lightning. Schizoid is good. He never mentioned the era of big-government is over, though. (even if it was a lie when Bubba said it — that was just a sales pitch then) But this was a flaming “surprise big brother is back, knocking on your door”. We know how desperate Zero is to bring him out to potentially upstage his reelection speech.

            Bull,
Right. I don’t think BHO can eclipse Klintoon after that speech of hyperbole. I sure hope people go back to seeing the real guy. I would have thought putting Klintoon up there could actually hurt him, but the crowd seemed to be hanging on every word of Slick Willy as if he were the 2nd god next to the 1rst god, Hussein Obama.

I never liked Klintoon and never voted for him. And he told so many lies over the Monica fiasco, who is their right mind can still believe this guy or look up to him. Good grief, blow jobs in the oval office for bloody sake. I found him totally disgusting.

I really doubt the pundits will stop gushing over the Klintoon. They live so much in that bubble world and have not a clue how people really feel out here. For bloody sake, every site I visit I see Americans talking about a revolution with this guy, BHO. I’ve seen the worst comments made about him and deservedly so. And he is no Klintoon. He is too far to the left and so extreme the middle of the road people are not going to elect this Satan again. At least I’m hoping.

I think it could have hurt him too. His oratory won’t sound the same after Clintons’. I think people were caught up in him. Afterward they wanted to congratulate him. I think he twisted every fact he could. Who were all the bipartisan appointments? (tokens) What about the Van Jones’s?

Man they are off the deep end. And they say they and Obama are the best allies Israel ever had. But they don’t act so politically correct when they attack the GOP. These people are over the top with their mental diseases. I wish they would get some help. At least they would be keeping shrinks working.

The radicals could shoot up 10,000CC’s of sodium pentathol and still not tell the truth! There; that makes sense! And boy do they have some nerve even insinuating another party is lying. Pepp,

Well, some scribes are sitting in the back room still transcribing all the talking points to hit the email before sunrise.

I watched Lizzy Borden Warren. What a fruitloop. She tore down everything. I think her points should be countered but it would be lengthy. She’s batty. But the more fruity they are the more libs love em. She said the system does not work. Wow from a big-gov Liberal. She forgot who was prez.

Matthews calls Clinton the “BIG DOG”. I say that’s a racial reference. But then Bill himself played the race card on Repubs. Blaming us for hate and then mentioning Integration. These are the extremists.

Get this. The Party that called this the “people’s convention” has a former president, a rapist, who was impeached, put in Obama’s name. Then people love it. They do that stuff in Russia and they protest. For a minute I thought he might have swung this election. That and the fraud you mention .The Repub on CNN said that speech just won Obama’s reelection.

And fuitcake Fluk. She and Lizzy should be the first passengers to Mars. “I Want My Contraceptives!!!” Can you o/d on contraceptives?
