What they said… about Benghazi

I’m not so sure if this is a case of “what did they know and when did they know it” or more of a what the administration said and why they said it. We already know pretty much about what they knew – or should have known.

Since Obama says he stated September 12th this was an act of terrorism, then why did all the talk about videos and protests follow?

And why did Art Carney say in his official briefing, September 12 — White House spokesman Jay Carney– in response to questions about whether the attack was planned:

“It’s too early for us to make that judgment. I think — I know that this is being investigated, and we’re working with the Libyan government to investigate the incident. So I would not want to speculate on that at this time.”

Judgment? But apparently not to early to assume there was a protest which led to the events.

Then came Susan Rice’s defiant statements 5 days later. And now a month later they want to hop into the wayback machine to point out she mentioned the boilerplate “investigation” in it. Duh, so what? Rice’s statements to media:

ABC News:
RICE: Well, Jake, first of all, it’s important to know that there’s an FBI investigation that has begun and will take some time to be completed. … But our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response to what had transpired in Cairo. In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated.

We believe that folks in Benghazi, a small number of people came to the embassy to — or to the consulate, rather, to replicate the sort of challenge that was posed in Cairo. And then as that unfolded, it seems to have been hijacked, let us say, by some individual clusters of extremists who came with heavier weapons, weapons that as you know in — in the wake of the revolution in Libya are — are quite common and accessible. And it then evolved from there.
We’ll wait to see exactly what the investigation finally confirms, but that’s the best information we have at present. — ( This Week with George Stephanopoulos, 9/16/12)

Apparently “present” is a state in the nation of denial.

Face the Nation
RICE: Bob, let me tell you what we understand to be the assessment at present. First of all, very importantly, as you discussed with the President, there is an investigation that the United States government will launch led by the FBI, that has begun and –
SCHIEFFER: But they are not there.
RICE: They are not on the ground yet, but they have already begun looking at all sorts of evidence of — of various sorts already available to them and to us. And they will get on the ground and continue the investigation. So we’ll want to see the results of that investigation to draw any definitive conclusions.[yada, yada] But based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present is in fact what began spontaneously in Benghazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo where, of course, as you know, there was a violent protest outside of our embassy–
SCHIEFFER: Mm-Hm.
RICE: — sparked by this hateful video. But soon after that spontaneous protest began outside of our consulate in Benghazi, we believe that it looks like extremist elements, individuals, joined in that — in that effort with heavy weapons of the sort that are, unfortunately, readily now available in Libya post-revolution. And that it spun from there into something much, much more violent.
SCHIEFFER: But you do not agree with him that this was something that had been plotted out several months ago?
RICE: We do not — we do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned.
SCHIEFFER: Do you agree or disagree with him that al Qaeda had some part in this?
SUSAN RICE: Well, we’ll have to find out that out. I mean I think it’s clear that there were extremist elements that joined in and escalated the violence. Whether they were al Qaeda affiliates, whether they were Libyan-based extremists or al Qaeda itself I think is one of the things we’ll have to determine. — (CBS, Face the Nation, 9/16/12)

On her blame tour, Rice also told Fox:
“But I do think it’s important for the American people to know our best current assessment.”

And this all was after Obama claimed he said it was terrorism. Instead of arguing with Romney, why isn’t he arguing with Rice and others? Why wasn’t he setting everyone in his administration straight?

Then at the debate he said he was “offended”. And now I assume he is claiming to be the victim.

Great overview bull! Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I do not remember Obama making the claim during his tip-toe-through-the-rose-garden dance that an act of terrorism “had” been committed in Benghazi. I just remember him saying “the US will not tolerate acts of terrorism…”. If my memory is correct. that is a farrrrrr cry from calling a spade a spade and this attack was as obvious as the A of spades in an all red deck. If memory is incorrect, well…I’m shooting blanks here!

This administration danced around this issue for weeks, before obvious outside information was released to where they had no choice but to call it terrorism. And now that the Gay Charade has finally called out his brother’s in arms; actually what in the hell has he done about it??? They’re still debating what to do, because they are more afraid another stupid ass Obama foreign policy call will cost him the election. What did Reagan do when Libya pulled this shit on us in the 80’s?? He blew up a compound with zero apologies! Those psycho’s had been quiet every since then, but now after the Obama Apology tour…well; history now speaks for itself.

I’ve never seen a president surrounded by more people that are willing to lie through their teeth or personally fall on Obama’s sword to protect him. Less people were loyal to Attila The Hun due to fear from that murderous bastard. Sooo, what does that say about Obama’s tactics…

Dave, ha ha it ain’t your ears. Very well put. Yep you are right. It is a far cry from it. But we know one thing, if ever there is something this guy wanted to say, he has the opportunity, no one ever prevented him. And judging by these interviews and even LAMEstream media asking him questions about about it for weeks, he didn’t. The funny thing was to see Crowley going right along with his little disinformation campaign. You could see it in his lying eyes,

You got that right, willing to lie through their teeth.I also remember him and Hill saying this video is no excuse while making it an excuse. Reagan was blunt. I can’t imagine Obama saying what Reagan did. This prog is just the 180 opposite of Reagan. Yea Hillary even falling for him. What’s up with that?

I seem to remember the idiot Senator criticizing Bush on everything, saying he took his eye off the ball. And he did that while on Nato committee and ignoring the events.

Bull, the lefties jumped all over stating Barry did call it a terrorist attack while he was picking fresh rose’s to throw at the real boss feet…Moochele, but that is just another flat out lie. The damn speech is on record showing the truth, but the media will still lie about it and his sheep will still believe them. The ignorance level of our society today is quite saddening.

LOL…”not an excuse, but we’ll use it!”…is this not the most double talking group of radicals you’ve ever seen? And once again; his loyal sheep will believe them. There’s that ignorance issue again. The Clinton’s? There has to be a bounty on their daughter’s head, if they don’t play along. I sure don’t see anything Barry is doing (while Hitlery serves as Sec of State and defends everything he does) helping her at all run for office in the future. I see zero political gain for her, so all I can assume is it’s a life or death scenario.

Barry is Reagan’s evil twin. I believe he and Moochele chat while dining of fine steak reviewing what Reagan did, so they can do the exact opposite. Reagan would have to be the Obama’s most hated president. He stood for everything they’re against.

Wow; I had forgotten Obastid was on the NATO Committee. Now that you’ve reminded me of that; I’m gonna guess our NATO allies pretty much knew they were screwed when Barry got elected president. The only one that has benefited is the Frenchies and all they wanted was oil and all Barry wanted was for his Muzzie Bro’s to take over the country. What a hell of a team the Frenchies and Barry make…good Lord!

Dave, speaking of egregious failure, I had a much longer post of over 2500 words and still didn’t cover it all. So this was the alternative. There is some irony I think. The word he tries to use to save his butt is the one that betrays him., And it only shows that right from the beginning he set out to decieve us and lie about it. He must be one pissed off Marxist radical now.

Bull, LMAO! It took over 2700 pages to cram all the crap in Obamacide that has nothing to do with healthcare, so I’m not surprised you couldn’t cram in all his crap into 2500 words. I don’t think Stephen King could cover them all in one of his marathon books. You ever read The Stand? Good Lord! It took me a year! Barry’s ran out of lies and now is repeating the exact same ones he used to get elected in 08′, too many are now not believing his lies, so I would say your assessment of him being one pissed of Marxist radical would be dead on. They’re probably holding seances trying to ask Karl, “What the hell do we do now my master??”

Dave…and speaking of lies: cnn did an interview on debate night with Michele where she was asked how she keeps Baracks ego in check. She said its easy, he doesn’t have an ego. And he is always interested in listening to other people and ideas …working with other people. It was sickening. And she had her brother sitting there saying the same thing. Maybe they all get paid for lying or something.

Dave, LOL and maybe that’s why he isn’t worried about it. Spending is the ONLY agenda the left has,(well, other than lying) why can’t people realize it? For them even to be talking about solutions to the debt crisis or criticizing Mitt’s plans is standing truth on its head, then driving it into the ground. Right now they are acting like the obstrucionist party but while they control the WH and the Senate. That everyone doesn’t see this ruse boggles my mind. Bill and Hill still have enough dirt on Obama to hurt him. And all Barry has is the race card.

Hell bull; the Dems don’t even like budgets, so it is rather hilarious for them to knock anyone about their spending plan. At least it’s a plan! I think we could save a ton of money disbanding useless and/or redundant agencies, but Barry just wants to add more! Now there’s a good plan to get the debt down…

This Obama/Clinton situation is very weird. It’s not like the Clinton’s don’t have their far share of power and they’re also a couple of brutal jackasses. And like you stated; they’ve got junk on Obama. Of course trying to figure out how liberals that hate each other and also help each other is something I believe is way beyond rational thinking.

Yeah…LOL…the Repukes are the reason Obama hasn’t been as successful, because they obstructed him. Let’s see; Dems controlled Senate and House his first two years and still control the Senate with Harryass Reid holding the gavel. And so many Repukes jumped ship and voted with the Dems on way too many POS bills to appease Obama. Oh yeah; I feel real sorry for the uphill road the sumbitch has had to climb! The only obstruction he’s had to face is Moochele not letting him play golf ALL DAY long!

I particularly liked Rice’s statement on MSNBC’s Meet the Press:

” … But putting together the best information that we have available to us today our current assessment is that what happened in Benghazi was in fact initially a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired hours before in Cairo, almost a copycat of– of the demonstrations against our facility in Cairo, which were prompted, of course, by the video. What we think then transpired in Benghazi is that opportunistic extremist elements came to the consulate as this was unfolding. They came with heavy weapons which unfortunately are readily available in post revolutionary Libya. And it escalated into a much more violent episode. Obviously, that’s– that’s our best judgment now. We’ll await the results of the investigation. And the president has been very clear–we’ll work with the Libyan authorities to bring those responsible to justice.”

And all the crap about “investigation”. Got to Love that disclaimer. The same guy who stepped on Fast and Furious and used executive privilege to halt it in its tracks is waiting for an investigation? What hogwash. How can even the left buy this BS?

OH discovered over 100 cases of voter fraud in 08′ and sent the info to Holder to “investigate”. Two of the new black panthers are caught on tape intimidating voters and the info is sent to Holder to “investigate”. Nothing again is ever heard of about the OH voter fraud. The Injustice Dept ignores the video evidence of intimidation and declares there is no proof it ever happened. Barry stops the F&F investigation that would hang Holder out to dry I’m sure. The FBI is investigating Benghazi with none of them yet there. So exactly who is really going to do an honest, unbiased investigation of Benghazi? I guess we’re left with the only option hoping LIBYA does! Oh boy…

Yea its hard to keep track of it all. He needs Michele to keep track of all his actions. I agree everyone can go under the bus. (but they are liabilities) Nothing stopped their leaks every other time — national security be damned. But if its not in his favor…it goes into the vault, with his records and everything else. Btw: also saw reports that death threats to Mitt are up. He’d never mention that. But if there were one remote threat to Obama, we’d hear about it.
