Thoughts — minimum wage

There have been many well written and truthful articles concerning the dangers of a minimum wage. They pointed out some of the problems created, such as eliminating work entry jobs, prohibiting those new to the work force from learning the basics of steady employment, and also the increase in unemployment because companies cannot afford to carry such a large payroll and stay in business. But I see a much more dangerous outcome whereby those the minimum wage was promised to help are being totally destroyed because of it.
Raising the minimum wage from $7.25 to $9.00 is an increase of over 25%. Anyone who now makes $9.00, doing a more technical job, is going to demand a 25% raise to $11.25, and those making $11.25 will demand their wages be raised, and so on, and so on, ad infinitum. The only way a business can now exist is to sell their goods and services at a higher price. This lowers the purchasing power of everybody, but the people hurt the greatest are the very one the bill promised to help. Regardless of what the government says, i.e. food and fuel are not part of the consumer price index – THEY ARE, and the less someone earns the greater the amount of their income is spent on EAT and HEAT, or putting gas in their car so they can get to work, (if they still have a job). So they can now buy less when they were told they would be better off with the higher minimum wage!!!!!!
ANYONE who believes their political party is the good guys and the other political party is the bad guys has never watched a cops and robber television show. In the law enforcement industry it is known as, ” The good cop – bad cop routine”. The police are trained how to lie effectively so they can get the perp to do and say exactly what they want the perp to do and say. There is absolutely no difference between what the police do and what the politicians do. The politicians lie to get people to do exactly what they want done. Isn’t it amazing that if a citizen lies to a congressional committee they go to jail for perjury, but when an elected official lies to the government, i.e. WE THE PEOPLE, it’s considered politics as usual. Just like what happens to the perp in the cops and robbers TV show, the politicians make sure
A politician a day keeps your income away

Perfect, I was just thinking what these guys play is “bad cop – bad cop” or to put it better who can be the worser. Like Stalin vs. Lenin

Excellent post Gene and I agree with you 100%! Once again (IMO) the feds sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong. The Traitor Party doesn’t believe in trickle down economics, but they fully support up trickle up poverty! Good O’ communism…everyone poor, except the elite class hand chosen by those in charge.

    Just Gene,

Very good post! Good info to have. I would have thought KY had the lowest rate possible as most people here make about $5 an hr. The Court in our town just voted a raise for the 2nd highest elected official to $10 p/hr. Wowee! But, the food and gas prices are so high that 10 an hr doesn’t get ya much.

Pepp, wow, maybe they could export that philosophy to californ-ia where they are guranteed 6 figures, I think?

Bull, now ya’ have to keep in mind Pepp and Hawk live out dar in hillbilly KY and da wages suck. Now lets discuss where Therave lives (Lexington…the officially licensed Liberal Bastion From Hell) and the cost of living in my part. Shit; a damn drug junkie won’t even get out of bed, if you were to give him $5.00 an hour just to take drugs! They’d rather sleep and die from withdraws than do anything for only $5.00/hr. The cost per sq ft to build in a business zoned area? Over $100 per sq ft. twenty years ago! Huh? What in the hell can ya’ do with a damn sq foot and they wanted a hun??? You can’t even eat at Mac-Don-alds for five dollars here. About all $5 gets you in this shit hole is something to blow your nose in and then throw at your TV when Obastard’s face shows up!

Dave, oh good point. I was hoping they could influence some of the higher than mighty folks to consider the people. 10/hr in KY seems to equate to 100K in Cali. It probably doesn’t say much for what you could get for that kind of money. But then again I’m wondering what the hell they get from an employee for say 250,000 clerical administrator out in the golden faults? Yea, true, the cost of wiping your ass anywhere is going up quick. I guess we weren’t supposed to notice that.

Right. It’s no wonder CA if completely broke. This state will be broke when the union pensions come due. Only the union people make a decent salary in this state.

Maybe your town should show the “WE DON’T NEED NO STINKING BUDGET” mob how most people have to live these days – they BUDGET – I told Bull that if I die while Biden/Obama (can that be abbreviated BO – they sure do stink) are still in office to make sure my tombstone reads HELL YES, I’M BETTER OFF NOW THAN I WAS A YEAR AGO – RIP ! – but they’ll find a way to make it illegal to rest in peace or tax it.
