Upstate NY lawmaker: Cuomo’s gun snitch program like the East German Stasi

An upstate New York lawmaker comdemned Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s new program to reward informers helping him enforce the Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 his landmark restriction of gun rights.
“What was initially designed to be a tip line for citizens to call in suspected criminals in hot pursuit in six urban areas that showed a spike in crime has morphed into an old German Stasi – snitch line,” said Assemblyman William R. Nojay (R – Pittsford).
The freshman said the governor sent out a letter addressed to the chiefs of police calling for a program that rewards and encourages citizens to report so-called illegal firearm possession, he said. “This type of network targets ordinary citizens not engaged in violent crimes without protection from unreasonable search and seizure by agents of government.”
He said that the governor has taken the concept of a tip line to an absurd extreme.
“I envision SWAT teams descending upon innocent people,” he said.
“Rat out your neighbor, rat out your co-worker, rat out the parents at your child’s school and receive a $500 cash payment for any call leading to an arrest or conviction,” said Nojay, an attorney and radio talk show host.
The original informant initiative was never used or promoted,” he said.
“The governor is now using that executive action, which is a year old, as an enforcement mechanism because the S.A.F.E. act is unenforceable,” he said.

Great post. And what a scary one at that. Yeah, next stop, the trains as we all get delivered to a FEMA camp with guards, guns loaded with hollow point bullets which is forbidden under the Geneva Convention so even our soldiers don’t have them. We know what’s intended.
I’m glad there is so much backlash in Noo Youk. I hope the sheriffs stick to their guns, (no pun intended) and don’t obey this creepy tip line crap.
It looks more like Nazi Germany every day now. I have no idea what is going to happen to us as no one makes a move to stop this.

Pepp, yea its pretty scary, which I guess is part of their convoluted plan. So comply or argue with the hollow-points, great choice. I’m getting the distinct feeling that nothing or no one is supposed to “stop” it. Just like with ObamaCare. Orwell should have witnessed this.
And here is a good one, coming down the pike. A nice message to all those sheriffs who might not want to do their dirty work.
They are covering the front door, the back door, and the fire escape. They must be proud of themselves telling all these sheriffs to shove it! Elected by the people and all, it makes no difference.

Bull, it is scary. Can you imagine they are also targeting children to turn their own parents in?
I read about the legislative branch is some states trying to pass a bill to fire sheriffs who will not comply with the unjust laws of gun control. But one thing they missed is sheriffs are elected officials. They can’t do squat to these sheriffs. The people spoke and elected these individuals. Another unconstitutional thing some legislatures are trying to pass.
I don’t think that will go anywhere but everyone involved in this gun control is going to do everything they can to make it impossible to own a gun.
For me and Hawk, we will not comply. We believe in our God given rights, not these mere men. So they can go stick it as far as we’re concerned.

I stumbled upon it last night and had a very bad night of sleep tossing and turning. I feel exhausted today.

Pepp, make it as absolutely hard as they can. Great going I’ll definately check it out. Those nights will do it. I wonder if they realize how much they have infringed on our daily lives, and freedom, with all this crap? (or maybe I don’t want to know)

Don’t forget the next step they took – children must report to their teachers any parent who didn’t agree with the government and the good German soldiers just did their job as they pushed people into boxcars – the same as BO’s civilian army will do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow if they got the program working there, you can bet it’s everywhere. So he’ll set up call centers for them and for people to report their neighbors. It looks to me like he has all the resources in place already , just ike the truth squads. And since he has the sissyfied media at his feet, they can even help out.

The wrong-stream media will do their part in helping him probably by putting up numbers you can call to snitch people out. I told the Hawk this morning, can you imagine in this economy how good $500 looks to some people struggling? We struggle to make ends meet, but never would I resort to this kind of Judas change.
I don’t even know for example who owns guns or don’t. And besides that I’m not ratting out anybody that does. We don’t want to be ratted out either.
But these gimme people who think they deserve all the bennies they get like free housing, food, cars, cell phones, may very well resort to this.
His brown shirts are going to show up at our doors one day and use a swat squad to break our doors down and confiscate guns, but there are many who will not stand for it. Blood will be on the hands of the King.
