O’Reilly’s No Thumping Zone

Front Cover

This should be Bill O’Reilly’s new tag line:

Caution: You are entering a “No Thumping Zone”.

Bill O’Reilly skews opponents of same-sex marriage, calling them Bible thumpers.

And when people take issue with him for his characterization, like Rush Limbaugh, he blows his top. Laura Ingraham was on the receiving end when he dug his heels in and repeatedly said his term was “accurate” and deserving.

She disagreed and he went bully on her. Apparently the spin did not stop for same-sex marriage. Then he lied when he said he gve her “a good two minutes” – little over 60 seconds– to counter his position, after he cut her off twice before that.

So the spin did not stop there.

  1. I’ve always enjoyed O’Reilly, but he can be too full of himself. And when he is, he will never, ever backtrack. This is one of those times.

Dude, just say, “Yeah, that was dumb. I can be dumb sometimes”. And go on.
Seriously, more people would appreciate the honesty, AND the humility.

    Good post, BR…

To follow that performance, Bill-O did what he always does: he started boasting about his accomplishments and where he — presumably by himself — has resolved things like the guy released from the Mexican jail. He takes credit almost as well as Obama. (it sure isn”t a no boasting zone)

Then he shifted to abortion to dig his way out. Get people outraged on that. Oh yea, like he’s one big culture warrior, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, getting results by his lonesome from his self-centered platform. I guess there are no Christian aspects to the pro-life cause either. Better not use any Bible related arguments against infanticide and killing babies either, I suppose. You know, don’t want to be too controversial or base positions on your Christian beliefs, can’t do that.

In case he hadn’t noticed he’s the one who claimed this cultural ground, no one forced him to make that his calling card. Now that it gets a little dicey he wants to lecture everyone to stay away from using any Christian or Biblical arguments.

He wants people to think he is still king of the cultural battlefield, and leading the moral high ground. Now the next time he wants to inject Christianity or, gasp, the Bible into anything, he’ll be the King of Toast.

Good article Bull. Sorry I’ve been MIA, but I had a death in the family that’s had me busy.

O’Reilly and Ingraham both can kiss my white, redneck, southern ass! The only thing both of them care about is selling books. I booted O’Reilly after that softball interview he had with the Sumbitch where I’m sure he had the taste of Obastid’s ass on his breath afterwards. And Ingraham…she made some of the most stupid, off the wall comments leading up to last years election that I’m convinced her meds need to be raised. Neither give a shit about conservative values that made this country great. They just care about money while being so stupid not even realizing the NOW, UN and Praroah Sumbitch will take it all.

I’m not real good at being pithy, but I sure in the hell wish O’Reilly and Ingraham were…so pithy we never heard from them! I’ll listen to Levin all day long…

        Hey Bull,

Good article and very controversial. I believe O’Reilly should have just apologized for the remark he made “thump the Bible” since it’s so insulting to people of all religions. After all the King called us the same, Bible thumping, rednecks, gun toting, etc. which was a huge insult to a lot of people.

We don’t watch him anymore because we can’t stand his bloviating and his non pithiness and blowing off about things as if he were the only one with a right answer to everything.

The argument about gay marriage is a moral/social one. Yes, almost all religions are anti gay marriage. I can’t say I like it either.

However, I am a libertarian and I don’t think the federal government should be poking its’ nose into this issue. This should be a state issue and let people vote whether they want gay marriage in their state. If one state says OK then let the people move there and get married.

The old saying about not being able to legislate morality is still true to this day.
People are going to do sinful things and we can’t stop them. We have laws for the most egregious sins, like murder, rape, thievery, robbery, etc. But when it comes to this issue of gay marriage I’m not sure it can be legislated. Although I believe sodomy is still on the books in some states but it is not enforced unless in public. I don’t want to see gays being sexual in public. Behind closed doors I don’t care.

I don’t want gays in my face and forcing their lifestyle down my throat as being normal, but on the other hand I don’t care what people do in their own homes that is not hurting someone else.

I don’t like the idea of gay marriage at all. I still believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. it is not normal to be married to the same sex person. I don’t like children being in a same sex marriage type family either. That’s where I really draw the line. It’s not normal for a child and they don’t get the proper upbringing that children need with a father and a mother, female and male.

Also, even though it’s denied, homosexual men do and have been molesting children for ages. But, that is always left out of the argument even though it has been proven to be a fact with “some” homosexuals.

I also felt sympathetic for Laura because he just wouldn’t listen to what she was trying to tell him, “not to insult” people who live their lives by the Bible.

I do like Laura but I like Monica Crowley a lot because she is so cool and calm and everything she states is with reason and logic. She never (as far as I know) never allows emotion to get into her argument and she never insults others. I think she is great.

I like Laura because she is very anti-abortion. She speaks her mind on that. And doesn’t try to make excuses for those who are pro choice like some do. And as far as the 2 issues go, abortion is murder, being a homosexual is not up in that type of heinous crime IMHO. I know some people believe that way.

I too have had gay friends who were the nicest people and religious ones. So I have a very hard time putting a blanket statement onto them. Not one of them ever made any kinds of moves on me or tried to get me to be with them. They respected that I was heterosexual. Hawk on the other hand has a lot of hatred towards them for various reasons.

I spent all afternoon with Ron taking me through every step on how to use my new gun, how to clean it, take it apart, etc. I was so tired when we were done with that part. Now i have to do target shooting because I plan to keep this gun in my car when I go up to Cinti. I have to go through a huge wilderness area and there is no one anywhere. Well, it would make some difference whether she said it in primaries or the general. But I could grant her some berth for wanting a true blue conservative. We were corralled to get behind Romney when it all counted. How much of that was the establishments choice and doing, I’m not sure.

        Bull,

I agree with what you said. The repuke establishment wanted Romney and we had to vote for him because the alternative was waaaaaay too bad. We never even got a choice about it. The repuke establishment runs everything. it’s my belief that people like Karl Rove like to run off true conservatives. His man Bush was no true conservative after all.

I would give Laura some room on this too because Romney’s stands on issues were put 180 degrees from the things he was for only a few years back. So I did not trust Romney in the least, but I did prefer him over the King. At least Romney was a business man who wanted to get businesses back and supply jobs. I’ll give that to him. Whether he would have carried through or not we’ll never know. We can’t really know what he was about until he became president. But I did begin to like him and his wife when I learned about all the good things they did for others just because. They did not advertise all the good things they personally did for others because it’s the Mormon way. I was very impressed about how they cared for others so therefore he was a much better choice than the King Bastard.

Paul Ryan is not a complete conservative either. He voted for all the spending Bush wanted to do. His so called budget is really not that great when you compare it to Rand Paul’s budget which would have us solvent in 5 years because he would do away with whole agencies, stop this foreign aid and stop giving our weapons and help to these ME folks who only want to kill us.

I am leary of much of the punditry with few exceptions, so its natural for me. The probllem is also coming back on Cruz. I have an issue with his candidacy everyone is pushing. Rand Paul steers clear of the social matters when possible too. The Left is really making it hard to ignore those, regardless how much they told the Right to shutup about them. I won’t cede the society to the Leftists. Of course the Marxist Left aren’t any better on them than they are on fiscal issues. It pisses me off that they were the ones calling social issues, including abortion, divissive and irrelevant. I don’t buy that. But any argument O’Reilly was making was lost when he adopted their talking points. I can’t excuse that.

And I too think anyone is better than this Marxist tyrant bastard. Romney would have been a much better choice in my mind. I did like him. But, I never thought he’d have a chance at winning because of his backing off of Obama’s lies. He should have gone for the throat on many issues with that Traitor.

But, also I never thought he’d win due to the massive fraud that the dems now have a well oiled machine on. Also so many conservatives once again did not come out to vote either. If the Repubs keep putting up rhinos for president, none of them will ever get elected, that is if there is another election and this is very up in the air if you ask me. Why is the Marxist tyrant collecting campaign money again? Does that not sound suspicious like he expects to have a 3rd term? And if the dems take the House in the midterms they will surely get passed changing the amendment that allows only 2 terms for a prez to have. They’ve been working on that one for a very long time now

I don’t excuse O’Reilly either. It was a direct insult and now he’s stuck with it, but ya know he writes on TH on Saturdays and everyone yells their guts out at him. It’s really funny. It seems most conservatives have come to expect his stupid stuff. And every Saturday he gets told off which I love. I don’t read it, but Ron does and tells me how the big O is getting creamed on there. I don’t really like going to TH anymore because the columnists on there don’t speak out either. What the hell?!

The conservatives we have should make their stands against the left and their murderous and outrageous agendas. And every conservative candidate who does take a stand becomes the next victim of the left. They need to fight and fight harder. That is one big problem I have with the Repukes. They are wusses and allow the left to take over the argument and win.

I do understand your frustration. I every once in awhile look on Fox and it just mystifies me how everyone on there acts like nothing so bad is going on in this country right now. It almost seem they are just morons. All that smiling and laughing when we’re about to get hit with bullets. They seem oblivious to it. It just blows us away about their behavior and it seems they are not taking the situation we’re in seriously.

So I can understand your anger about O’Reilly and Laura wanting to sell books while our country is falling apart. Right now I just choose not to sweat the small things like her and O’Reilly because there are so many huge and real things to sweat. Like dodging bullets soon. Those two are of very little importance to me at this time in my life. I avoid watching the Big Blowhard O’Reilly because he has nothing to say that speaks to me anymore. I don’t see Laura so much or hear her much.

I agree that voting for McCain and Romney is better than this evil we have now. I can’t stand McCain either. He’s too erratic, but I somehow can’t see him trying to destroy our country like this Marxist tyrant. He was the lesser of two evils but once again the Repukes managed to run a rhino and conservatives are sick of it.

So you know where my votes went. But the repukes have nothing to brag about either. Look at how they are doing with that Tyrant. Nothing. What a bunch of weenies. They don’t know how to fight fire with fire. They don’t hit back, but just take it. I’m sick of that too.

Well I agree about those brainless ones you mentioned.

I don’t really think we disagree but that I am just not taking those people very seriously because they are like tiny gnats that I just swat away for now. No one even on Fox talks about any of the real shit that’s going on here in this country right now.

So I don’t take anything they say seriously because they are not serious or aware of how bad things are going. When our Republic is falling down all around us and the American people are being threatened daily, I think to myself, what the hell are these people doing and where are their minds if they have any.
