Red Line

Obama’s Meaningless ‘Red Line’?

8:55 PM, Apr 25, 2013 • By LEE SMITH

The Obama administration now believes that Syrian president Bashar al-Assad may have used chemical weapons. Today the White House released a letter explaining that the American “intelligence community does assess with varying degrees of confidence that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons on a small scale in Syria, specially the chemical agent sarin.”

Now that Assad has crossed an Obama redline, will the administration’s Syria policy get tougher? Don’t count on it. Obama announced last summer that the use of chemical weapons “would change my calculations significantly.” Britain, France and Israel have all reported within the last two weeks that Assad used chemical weapons as recently as March and likely more than once. But the administration still wanted more proof.

CBS news:

The White House said the evidence of Syrian chemical weapons attacks is still too thin and President Obama’s red line has not been crossed, and that means military intervention by the United States in the Syrian civil war is not imminent and not guaranteed but more study and investigation is needed.

When Obama said WMD would be “a Gamechanger” he meant it starts a new game.

A little trouble in the communications dep….

    Bull,

The moron will do nothing. However I don’t want to see him send any of our guys into Syria because the gas would be used on them too. I say just drop a bunch of bombs on them and be done with the whole thing. It’s going to be taken over by AQ and the muzzie bro, so the King doesn’t want to disturb his buddies. After all, he’s been arming them for a long time, our enemies.

But, his so called Red Line, has now sunk into his usual wavering.

For bloody sake, the Israeli Mossad has the intel, so is that “too thin” for evidence?

Pepp, I agree. I don’t want to see it. Yep, it would, I see anything there as a waste, really. He did not do anything before. However, he does have this red line predicament he set up himself that never stood for anything anyway. They are only going to turn on us as the big enemy in the end.

Let the Mujahideen worry abou t it, who will take over anyway. Heck, Syria probably already has all the arms floated from Obama’s Libya adventure.

Since he just sent the f-16s to the Egypt caliphate, what good would anything do anyhow? I just think its ridiculous how he keeps talking. Everyone should realize he’s nothing but a liar. He tells a lie and then backs it with….another lie. And if they think for one minute he cares about people dying, tell them to look at our abortion industry and say that.

Interesting how he contemplates our resources over there when he is scrubbing muslims from lists and undercutting our national security at home.

        Bull,

It sure would be a waste for our military in blood spilled. Can you imagine how many soldiers would die if he decides to send troops into that hell hole? And the ROE is so ridiculous that our military has its’ hands tied behind their backs fighting jihadists.

We watch the military channel a lot and they have tons of space age technology that we could use to end this thing in Syria but we don’t use them. Why have them when we have a King that won’t touch jihadists but arms them instead?

He is ridiculous on how he talks. He gives a “big” line about his red line, but when it comes down to the truth, it’s all talk, no action. Just blow the damn place up entirely. But he’s not going to do a thing just like Iran.

Your last line is dead on.

Pepp, right, the Israelis know the score. He denies the truth all the time anyhow when they do show him.

Bull, he knows the score all right. Purplegimp tells me all the time what their Mossad has uncovered and they are brilliant. If the Mossad doesn’t get the info nobody else does. She tells me that all over the ME they knew right away what happened in Benghazi. The Brits and the French knew but “congress” can’t come up with any info. What does that tell ya? They are protecting him once again and that includes the repukes in the House.

That’s another thing. He thought he’d get the Israeli youth all protesting the government there and riled up like he does the young people here. Purplegimp tells me that the youth there are too busy with their educations they can’t be bothered with that crap. So one down for the King SOB. Ha, what a joke on him.

Assad is a son of a bitch killing his own people, (just like the DICKtatertot will do when the shit hits the fan) and the brotherhood has taken over the insurgency, so let them kill one another. We should send them lots of ammunition so more of them will DIE. Oops, I don’t remember doing background checks on them – HELL even without background checks we know who are getting weapons in Egypt – God help Israel – HELL, GOD HELP US.

Obama’s red line will simply be pushed back farther. He’s a goddamned coward. NOTHING will be done on his watch. Especially if it cuts into golf time. Be nice to turn that whole damned region into glass, makes it MUCH easier to see the oil below we could then commandeer. Oh,wait. Nevermind. The rat bastard can’t stand oil. Sorry.

President Obama has done little with international affairs and renegade nation states to imbue them with any fear at all in American power. To the contrary, his leading from behind and empty threats have only served to embolden these nations to become even more aggressive, and in the case of North Korea, recklessly so. President Obama has to be the worst CINC since President Jimmy “Peanuts” Carter.

Rick, hey, I agree he’s sending some strange signals. Emboldened them he has, Carter eat your heart out. The lead from behind pro. (along with being a pro at other things) At least some people are aware of the damage he is doing. And he won’t be changing any time soon. Sounds like about time for another one of his “let me be clear…” [not] messages.
