GOP Reinvigorated After Obama Admin Delays Key Healthcare Provision

By ABBY D. PHILLIP – ABC News
July 3, 2013

The Obama administration’s decision to delay implementation of a key part of the Affordable Care Act has the law’s Republican opponents positively giddy.
“GOP ad makers are busy at work cutting new Obamacare ads,” noted Rick Wiley, former political director at the Republican National Committee.
The Obama administration announced yesterday that it would delay for one year the part of the health care law that requires employers with more than 50 employees to offer health insurance or pay a penalty.
The administration cited a desire to respond to the concerns of small business and give them more time to comply. But the provision has been the subject of complaints by business owners and threats that employers would either cut their full-time workforce to avoid the mandate or increase the number of part-time employees who won’t be guaranteed insurance under the new law.
On the one hand, the administration avoids a series of politically painful stories about negative, unintended consequences of the provision, which they admit is not quite ready for primetime.
Republicans believe, however, that even by pushing the issue into 2015, the Obama administration makes implementation of this part of the law a problem for the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016.
“All the president has done here is, he’s now guaranteed that it’s going to be a huge issue in the 2016 race,” said Matt Mackiowiak, a Republican strategist with Potomac Strategy Group. “I’m not sure it’ll be a gift to Hillary or Biden or whoever the nominee is.”
“There’s going to be a huge amount of turbulence as that provision kicks in and it’s going to create a lot of problems for Dems,” he added.

Evidently, the king has spoken. So it will be done. It seems everything is much easier when done by the emperor’s order.(note sarcasm) It makes it much simpler.

Up to this point, all we heard was “its the law” — the law of the land. Now it sounds more like the king’s edict. It can exempt those it wants, it can issue a decree to delay it.

We still don’t know what all is in it. At the same time Dems keep telling us “we are a nation of laws”, even as they scheme to create amnesty.

And is he throwing it back into Hillary’s lap to defend it? (must have more time to get our story straight)

    Bull,

Good stuff. And the only reason the King decreed this, IMHO, is he does not want the democrats to be slaughtered in the 2014 mid-term elections if all of this Obamacide is implemented. He knows the dems are in big trouble politically so he needs to save them in any way he can. The way the dems could redeem themselves would be to repeal it with the repubs.

But, as the article points out the 2016 candidate will be in a mire over this horrendous bill (law) and could very well sabotage their election. But, so many people are asleep in this country I don’t know if it will even matter. Hillary wanted this healthcare back when slick willy was in office. I do believe it will be Hillary who is going to be handed the nomination. Even some people on the right still like her (God only knows why) and she could very well be our next president. But, I don’t know how she would handle this very much hated Obamacide law.

      Pepp,

Thanks and you so nicely put your finger on the huge problem. Be it Hillary or whoever runs and then gets in there, what will they do with it? We see it is executive decree. This illustrates the problem with it. What will the next one do? Who can know. We’ll have healthcare based on executive order, there can be no doubt about it now..

That can never be a a good thing. And then use the problems they create to push for more government control — not that they haven’t written as much authority for themselves as they need. Plus failure is rewarded in government’s monopoly.

What other orders can he give in the next 3.5 years?

        Bull,

Yes, if Hillary is elected I see no change as she is as much a Marxist as the King is, if not more so. How she will handle a hugely hated law like Obamacide it anybody’s guess. If she wants to support it, she is in trouble. But they all lie and she could tell people she’ll get rid of it and once in office keep it. She lies just as bad as the king.

I am fearful too about what damage the King will do the rest of his term. We both know it won’t be anything good for America or the American people since he is out to destroy us. His recent decree (once again) for the EPA to go after coal companies again is something that bothers me greatly as KY depends on coal 90%. It’s too late to have a nuclear power plant built and he is against them too. I have no idea how the states who depend on coal will survive.

Pepp, so true. That boils my blood what jihad the EPA has going on. Right, all this would just continue with Hillary, it would change nothing. There is a 3 am phone call for America right now. It’s a real wake-up call, if they listen.

            Bull,

Yeah, my blood boils over about the EPA too. Where is the outrage by Congress over this? They sit like stupid morons while the King dictates once again to ruin the coal industry except to ship tons of it overseas to China. And China is certainly not going to burn clean coal. They don’t care about “climate change.

The 3AM call will never come.

Pepp, so right that call… someone took the phone off the hook. I was looking at a list of “wanted” people the EPA has for crimes against the environment. It should send shivers down anyone’s spine the power of how they can destroy someone. That’s what this administration is good at, destroying its enemies. And these are the people that complain about the power of corporate monopoly? Zero’s regime make standard oil look like amateurs.

  2. Yes, we’re a “Nation of Laws”. We’re also a nation of citizens.

…And Obama has equal disdain for one, as he does the other.

Good post Bull. I think Pepp did a great job hitting the nail on the head. The Pharaoh could care less about small businesses, but he does care greatly about the midterm elections. Demonrats have at least 21 seats to try and protect and I’m sure NONE of them wanted this crap hanging over their head. And Lord knows most Americans have very short memories, so this may just work. At least it give the Repukes another opening to slow the abortion of a law with the Pharaoh backing off part of it.

You sad a mouthful about the wanna be king simply making a decree all by himself to not implement this part of Obamacide. This law sucks so badly that the Demonrat senator that wrote a great portion of it is not running for re-election and openly called the law a “train wreck.” He’s smart enough to jump ship, but sadly many rats will still remain aboard.

Dave, he did set her right up. He doesn’t even do Democrats any favors. You’d have to mix Al Capone and Goebbels to get anything close to Obama. The power of the mob with the propaganda of Nazis, and the capability to lie in every sentence…..and being above the law even in the eyes of Supremes. There are a lot of “memory” cells being killed everyday with this regime..

Got to tell you, Bull, I’m not too optimistic. When one hears these guys saying “we can rework this”, it gives me reason to think THEY want it instead of shitcanning it. We shall see.
