Benghazi Syria connection question remains

Frank Wolf Asks if Benghazi Site Was Stockpiling Syrian Weapons

Says the issue has a bearing on congressional debate over Syria strike

A top congressional appropriator suggested on Monday evening that the State Department and CIA might have been stockpiling weapons for Syrian opposition fighters when they came under attack by jihadists in Benghazi, Libya.
“I firmly believe that whatever the State Department and CIA were doing in Benghazi had a direct connection to U.S. policy in Syria—a policy that to date has not been fully revealed to the American people or Congress,” Rep. Frank Wolf (R., Va.) said on Monday evening during a discussion focusing on “unanswered questions” surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed four Americans.
“Were these rebels being armed with weapons collected in Benghazi?” Wolf asked, according to a copy of his prepared remarks. “Again, there is reason to believe this may be the case and a clear explanation is warranted.”
The issue has a direct bearing on Congress’ debate about military intervention in Syria, where President Bashar al-Assad stands accused of using chemical weapons.
“Given the pending request for authorization to use military force in Syria, it is more important than ever that the Congress understand U.S. support and assistance to Syrian rebels and whether groups responsible for the American deaths in Benghazi may have been at the same time benefitting from U.S. assistance in Syria,” Wolf said.
Congress cannot “make an informed decision” about Syria before the circumstances surrounding the Benghazi attack are “more fully understood,” said Wolf, who sent a pair of letters to President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday to reveal whether weapons in Benghazi could have reached Syrian rebels and “jihadist fighters.”
“The two [issues] are intimately related and may [have] a direct bearing on U.S. national security,” Wolf said.
Congress could get more answers by holding a public hearing with former CIA Director David Petraeus and current Director John Brennan, Wolf said.

Oh man does that take me back in time, Bullright! What did you size this at?

As for your post, I do want to know if there is a connection. Sounds “funny” to yours truly. But then, given all the whoha that has happened today, I don’t know it we will EVER get the real truth.

      Important post, Bullright.

Just one more question to which we aren’t going to get an answer from the Dissembler-In-Chief.

If it walks like a goddamn duck, it CAN’T be an elephant ! Good post, Bull. Damn sure wouldn’t be surprised if it were the case.

Yes! EXACTLY!! Thank you!!! The reason Obama is suddenly so keen on going into Syria, has a lot to do with the fact that Snowden is in Russia! This IS a cover up! The weapons they want to “so carefully target” are not chemical weapons but the multiple caches of weapons, warheads, etc that are imprinted with “Made in the USA” on them! Putin is laughing all the way to the bank over the richness of the irony, and “keeping Obama’s secrets” for a price. Congress was brought into the mix as a face-saving way for Obama to back out of the strike, meanwhile all sorts of deals are being made by congress to also keep Obama’s secrets. It also offers a distraction during which congress can claim to have had more pressing things to attend to (Syria) while other important deadlines come and go, like the debt ceiling, and obamacare, which despite their public show of disagreement, Republicans don’t intend to do a single thing to ward off. The slight-of-hand gets faster all the time, but the bottom line is we can’t trust our government. The fact that Obama threw a hissy fit and called Putin a jackass the other day, proves Putin has Obama “in a bind”. Obama has been bested because he hasn’t learned the “first law of despots”. Putin is smarter and has been at this “evil genius” thing way longer than Obummer has. Obama is a neophyte. Obama is like the kid who has always been coddled at home, then goes out onto the playground where the real bullies hang out, and tries to be big and bad and throw his weight around, only to have the snot kicked out of him. Putin is a trained killer who wrestles bears in his leisure time, while Obama has lived in an imaginary world of academia, floated along on clouds of imaginary idealism, and he lacks the good-old-boys network to bail him out. That’s where the new cooperation between him and congress comes in! Congress essentially says “you need us to clean up this mess for you”. Enter McCain and Graham. See how chummy Obama was with them last week? They are the “angels” whispering in one ear, while the Muslim Brotherhood is on the other side. Obama has too many masters now. He no longer fully trusts his own advisers, now he is like a leaf blown about with ever wind. When it really gets bad, don’t be surprised to find him curled in a fetal position, sucking his thumb and needing a change of pants.

  5. Excellent post. Syria is fighting the same terrorists who carried out September 11,2001 terrorist attack ,the Benghazi attack. Al Qaeda is in south Syria training to attack the west .The jihadist trying to take over The whole Arab world .The west must wake up and face the threat.
