Fox Redux

Fox was in a scramble post debate. Roger Ailes seems to have calmed the waters, but not the fears. I know, maybe Bill O’Reilly will come to Fox’s rescue with “Killing Fox”?

REPORT: DONALD TRUMP’S GRASSROOTS SUPPORT CAUSED ‘RARE MOMENT OF WEAKNESS’ FOR FOX NEWS

by Breitbart News11 Aug 2015 | Breitbart

In recent days, Ailes got a glimpse of what a Trump-less Fox News would look like. On Sunday, Trump called in to the four other public-affairs shows; this morning he gave interviews to Today and Morning Joe. Inside Fox, this was alarming. Inside Fox, this was alarming. “This thing with Megyn got way ahead of Roger and bigger than he must have thought,” one Fox personality said. “Roger wants this to blow over,” another source added. “He’s upset that conservatives are mad at Fox.” Online, Ailes also took flak. Both the Drudge Report and Breitbart News carried pro-Trump headlines. [more]

Well, all I can say is you play with fire, you get burned — not if but when. They sought to appease the Left and take advantage of the exuberant ratings Trump gave them. It’s now clear even MSN cable knew that going into the debate. Eugene Robinson told MSNBC host that “Megyn Kelly throws a mean punch” about a week before the debate.

Fox wanted to show how tough and relentless they could be against conservatives to their skeptical, flash-mob of viewers. It worked MSM was thrilled, including the NY Times. But Roger wasn’t happy with results — well, except the ratings part — and Trump marginalized Fox. Ratings were nice while they lasted.

Hyper-rant on…

Here is a hint to Fox: if you really want to prove something positive in the greater news media, to viewers and would be skeptics, then suppose you find an anchor(or pundits) who actually break the liberal wall of talking points progressives erect? For instance: Tuesday after the debate Megyn, promising not to mention the Trump dust up, broke the news Hillary’s server was being seized and that Clinton had top secret info on it. What to do? So she had Obama adviser Bill Burton on letting him waltz over her with his scripted talking points. Was she not prepared… being that the server is such a new story and all?

Why not show Fox is capable of breaching that liberal sound-bite wall, a much more constructive, respectable task? Sensational ratings are not the answer to systemic failures in politics and media. I think we learned that. Though they can’t seem to crack the code of Democrats’ talking points, something done daily on the Internet.

Give them a trial to cover, they’re on it. Give them a car chase and they are all about that with live eyes in the sky. But put progressives’ talking points memo of the day in front of them, in black and white, and they can’t seem to dissect it no matter how many resources at their disposal. [/off rant] Or maybe they just don’t want to?

Truth, not fair and balanced, should be the goal. Seems when Fox reports and we decide, Fox doesn’t like what we decide.

Good post Bull and I really like your closing sentence. You should start making T-shirts and raking in the moo-la!

There is only one person I can think of that could make Ailes to get off his high horse to call Trump and make peace. The dude was born in Melbourne. Ailes upset so many folks taking Trump’s side and made at FOX. Well kiss my down-under ass Ailes.

Megyn swimming with the big fish, pissed off a shark and got bit. There’s a lesson there about not pissing off sharks. And leave it up to Howard Stern to stoke the fires…LMAO!

You said it very well Bull about FOX wanting to come off looking tough, but they ended up looking like those damn Alinskys that are always pissed off. Always mad and always wanting to take it out on someone they despise. I’m so glad there wasn’t just a few of us really upset with FOX about their treatment of Trump. FOX can burn down as far as I care. At least the other MSM’s don’t try to hide the fact they’re in the commies pockets.

I haven’t watched FOX since the debate, so I’ll try to find the interview with Megyn and Burton. I think I’ll enjoy seeing her blowing it…again.

She can do TV Cialis ads with Trump. She gets her own separate bathtub on the beach @ Korney Island, or some where. 🙂

Megyn Kelly did another big boo-boo the night after the debate when she told a focus group that Rand Paul was wrong about the 4th Amendment. She calls herself a Constitutional lawyer, but she was just wrong.

CHRIS CHRISTIE VS.RAND PAUL http://po.st/QI9LjM via @worldnetdaily Judge Napolitano explains in this article about the 4th Amendment and Napolitano is an expert.

When she said Rand was wrong I could not believe it. Even little ole me knows the 4th Amendment. So once again she gave that group the wrong info and was it to boost Christie? .

I saw the segment with Bill Burton and also wondered why she didn’t blow his talking points out of the water.

Perhaps she is falling off her right wing facade now. Who knows. But I’m not pleased with her anymore.

Right, Pepp, I was pretty amazed at that and the way she said it. She’s the expert? If she was going to be tough then why not be that way with libs? Are they afraid of not getting interviews from them? I dunno. So Pepp, she wasn’t done with just the debate, she has gone on like a vendetta. She was out to prove something, whatever it was/is.

I would take Napolitano’s word over hers any day.

Pepp & Bull, of course Napolitano is right on the constitution. Megyn is making her argument based on (IMO) the unconstitutional Patriot Act. Bush installed it, made it worse and then Barry has turned it into something Hitler would have been proud to take the credit for. The whole damn Patriot Act should be repealed.

Megyn should have been arguing (IMO) the unconstitutionality of the Patriot Act and all the crap that followed to make it easier to implement. All this sh*t flies in the face of the 4th amendment, but Megyn chooses to argue for the other side. Her true colors keep coming to light more and more.

Dave, I keep hearing that it, the law. was not intended to do all this (per Sensenbrenner) Right, a bit like King George saying “sorry, I didn’t mean to inconvenience you all.” But seems no one is stopping it. If that was her reason but she didn’t really say, more like ‘trust me on this’.

I didn’t hear Megyn blowing hot air (and won’t anytime soon again), so I’m just guessing why she took that stance. If one was going to take the pro stance on this issue, I can’t imagine what other argument they could use. She used to be very sharp, but the blade appears to continue getting duller. I’ll never trust her again.

The Patriot Act (there’s another good propaganda usage) was passed through congress under Bush (not an EO) and that’s totally different than Barry’s style. So I don’t put all the blame on Bush, but he did his part after the pressure built on him so much to do something after 9/11. And further changes under Bush’s watch. Most damaging IMO was making it even easier for FISA to get around the 4th amendment.

Giving up freedom/liberties for supposed safety. We all know where that leads and Megyn defends that debacle.

What really made me mad was she gave that focus group the wrong information about the 4th Amendment. yeah then she acts like she is the “expert”.

Maybe they want Hillary for an interview and the only way to get one is by their destructive behavior to the Repub candidates. Who knows.

I take Natolitano over her any day. I’ve got a book here where he goes into deep explanation of the Constitution and Federalist Papers. He knows what he’s talking about.

Well she said it. I don’t think she mentioned names but she said gathering info from your phone is not unlawful.

She should be taking heat but who’s going to give it to her now that’s she’s been seen as big bully? You’re right she didn’t show the full clip which was way she showed her ass again.
