We have reached the point. No, not the point of fusion, antimatter, or quantum physics squared, or the missing link. We may have reached the point where estabo candidates think Trump could win Iowa and potentially the nomination and, according to some, possibly the White House. Granted there is a ways to go, but that sort of sentiment is bound to have an effect on the election.
But then leave it to a politico like Mark Halprin to state the obvious, and cause everyone to start to talk about it, gasp, openly. Sea change is here?

Bloomberg Politics Managing Editor Mark Halperin stated that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has “reached a turning point” where the “establishment candidates” think he can win Iowa, “most” believe he can win the nomination, and “a significant number think he could win the White House” on Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Halperin was asked his writing that “Most importantly, we’ve reached a turning point with Trump, the major establishment campaigns of both parties now think Trump could win Iowa, and most of them think he could win the nomination, and a significant number think he could win the White House.” And that the campaigns were in “full freak out mode.”

I’m not sure which part scares the estabos most: that he could win the nomination, or that he changed the race? (it may seem like the same thing but I don’t think it is.) Apparently it has them in scramble mode. Perhaps because they now see anger on both sides?
Is that all it takes a Trump to come along and do this? Heaven knows we’ve been sending them the strongest possible messages for six years, or longer. Finally, maybe because they see it in black and white in the polls and in popular opinion? Maybe because they see a potential threat with the popularity and money? At any rate, the establishment are finally sitting up and taking notice. And they don’t like what they are seeing.
Well, they tried dismissing him, ignoring him, calling him names and ridiculing him….. never mind media’s evolution. It’ll be interesting to see if they see him as the problem.

Hmm………that’s odd that Halperin is saying that when all the other pundits keep saying Trump has no way in hell of making the nominee.
Would be nice if the GOPe would start paying attention to us now that they see how angry we are. i imagine they’ll blame it all on Trump and just keep ignoring us as usual.

I heard on Fox News Sunday on the panel George Will said we have 3 branches of government and those who don’t like that things aren’t getting done should get over it. Wow, so conservatives need to just shut up?
This I think was in response to a discussion about Trump who he thinks is terrible and a clown.
So yeah according to George Will it’s our fault we’re mad. Actually he doesn’t think we’re that angry, just frustrated. Ha! What a butt head!

Pepp, Bingo, my thoughts exactly. I had the same reaction, this is two weeks in a row. Last week referring to the estabos as the adults in the room. He thinks we’ll come back around to their choice but that we’re defiant, errant children. The feedback over it doesn’t seem to matter.
I agree with you, so we’re just frustrated? This is a record abusive relationship here. They think we have anger issues and just need counseling. Just listen to their expert advice. I believe he said that intentionally to rub salt and lemon in the cut, just what King George might have done.

I think Trump has as much chance as any GOP in winning the nomination and more than some. He may have less chance than some, but that hasn’t shown up yet. It will be interesting as the process moves east and south.
I still don’t think Trump or any GOP has a chance to win the White House. Not enough registered Republicans will vote (AGAIN) hurting the GOP opportunity. The Alinsky Fraud Machine is massive and getting bigger. And last time I checked…hell hasn’t frozen over.

I agree with you Bull and the status quo sucks and needs to go. He’s speaking so much of our anger up in the camera’s face and doesn’t put flowers around it. He also talks about many things that millions of Americans have always looked at as common sense. IE. Let insurance companies bid across state lines to breed competition and thus lower prices. He sure has caught my attention at this point for sure.

Dave, that he’s been a big mouthpiece on issues indicates he has a sense for what is important. You sure are right, he also mentioned deductibles. Things I haven’t heard anyone else talk about. I don’t want to just hear “I hear you; I feel your pain,” I want to see that they understand where its coming from. Oddly, Trump gets that.

Yeah, Trump could win. Why? Because the GOPe scripted focused grouped message sucks. Cruz, and Carson are the exceptions.
The GOPe needs some introspection which of course they won’t do since they are beholden to special interest. They’ll go down with the ship just like the Hildabeast supporters before admitting that their message sucks. Such is our level of stupidity with our elected leaders.
Americans are literally dying wanting a conservative leader. people will latch onto whoever grabs the bully pulpit. Trump just managed to grab it.

Nox, good read except I might add Carly to the list, the sharper arrow being Cruz. They need an attitude adjustment before anything else, with those exceptions above.(that’s why they’re 2 steps ahead.) Without that adjustment I think we’re stuck in the mud. And it has to stick, not temporary.

When Jeb Bush allowed hecklers shouting “Black lives matter” to drive him off the stage in Las Vegas, he may have given us a clue as to what kind of president he would be. We ignored too many clues about Barack Obama before putting him in the White House. There is no excuse for ignoring clues about another candidate now. Can you imagine Ronald Reagan letting hecklers drive him off the stage?

The backstory of that is just as interesting. The debate was actually between George HW Bush who didn’t want to participate initially, and who thought he would beat Reagan at the time. That’s the son of a Bush who gave up to the protesters.

Dave, true it just reminded me Bush isn’t a Reagan. Not quite the same iin comparison, is it? God was smiling on us not to end up with the Bush nomination in ’80. Sometimes fate has been blessed. I agree he’s not. Though it doesn’t seem to take much to be better than Jeb? After all, Jeb is probably interested in continuing the dynasty where we’re concerned with survival of the country,.

Sorry Bull. I got caught up in the adrenaline of hearing Reagan’s famous words again and got off track with Jebbie.
I respect George H. tremendously and I was glad GW was president during 9/11, but Jebbie isn’t even close to either of the other Bush’s. He appears more passionate about his expensive suits, liberal teaching tools and kissing the south-of-the-border folks ass’ than he does for standing up for what’s right. He just wants a crown to put in his trophy room, so he doesn’t feel left out at family reunions.

It was sorta like “I might be a good candidate, and I will give it a shot, but maybe just maybe I might sorta suck… blah, blah , blah”. Good grief, what a douche.
