The Papal Smackdown on U.S.

The Pope will arrive in US next week with the usual fanfare that entails a Papal visit. In view of expectations and his prior statements, he will probably stir the pot rather heavily. Then the joint session speech.

With those known factors, as well as his positions, I may write about it because it’s something I follow. However, I want to forewarn anyone that opposition and disagreement is not Pope bashing. I’ve been through that so many times my head would spin counting. Again, criticism is not Pope-bashing just as criticizing Obama is not racism.

Francis started this with his controversial statements. But I don’t expect to see anyone boycott his joint-session speech, or bar Obama from meeting the Pope because we are in political campaign season. (ala Bibi) Just the opposite, Obama is all about that. And since when did someone come here meddling in our policies? That kind of influence will be welcomed by the Democrats, though they are tied to the abortion industry as “law of the land”. But because they appreciate his socialist bent on economic and cultural matters, they encourage him all the more to make that case to the American people. (i.e. Ted Kennedy & Yuri Andropov)

So as a reminder, I am not a Catholic though I have no interest in bashing the Pope. I’ve also expressed my disagreement and disappointment with evangelicals and protestants in many areas. This was brought about by Pope Francis. As far as separating politics from religion, this Pope has erased many political boundaries. I’m not a separationist either and will not play those games, much less use that as fodder against the Pope of Rome.

On the outside chance he does not delve into controversial, political areas — and what haven’t the Dems politicized — it is still a matter that his people and Vatican have taken stands on these things, whether directly by Francis or his many evolving set of advisers. He may decide, as many politicians do, to let staffers and advisers make his case. But the case is his nonetheless, and he laid claim to it.

I’m a Catholic, and no, I don’t believe that criticism of the pope is pope bashing.. I think this pope is a bit off his rocker and is an ideologue. He embraces all things leftist and decries capitalism. Lefty policies are anathema to Church teachings and I am at a loss for why he embraces socialism/communism since those constructs have caused more misery and suffering and death than any other system. Capitalism, although not perfect by any means, has lifted more poor out of poverty than any other system. The pope is ignorant of it or chooses to dismiss this simple irrefutable history.

Further, the left has chosen to destroy religion yet this pope dances with the devil so to speak.

If the pope were truly a vicar of the Christ he would demand that all the faithful denounce the left and all their practices.

There is no middle road in my view. A leader is either a catalyst for a solution to the world’s problems or by default choses to be part of the problem. I don’t know what his agenda is but he is certainly no conservative.

Lastly, the left has embraced this pope which should speak volumes.

I agree, good comments, he sure stepped in it. He’s had a lot of time to make himself known. Wow has he! I don’t know why there isn’t a revolt to the ideas within, from Jesuits and the insiders? But go along to get along maybe. I have no stomach for that agenda. Are all people socialists now?

Right. The one thing that holds some stability in this increasingly chaotic world and he and the left want to rip it apart as fast as they can. If there was any doubt before on his political ideology, there is none now. I had a few hopes at first it would be different.

  2. I fully agree. Since Pope Francis has himself crossed over into politics, there is no reason for any of us to hesitate with our political and economic commentary, including principled and mature criticism. (Of course that means Trump should sit this one out.)

For example, I do not hesitate to say this: Morally, the Pope owes it to America’s Catholic congregation to address the Planned Parenthood videos, and give them guidance that they are not to be ignored, whether the liberal media covers them or not.

I concur, and Trump sit this one out. LOL now that’s funny. Yes, he does owe it, but I’m getting the feeling more and more he won’t push that PP issue too hard. (hope to be wrong) Crossed the line, indeed.

I’m not Catholic either. I was in love with a Catholic girl in the sixth grade. She had the prettiest legs in summer city camp for kids. We were Baptist I was forbidden from liking her. Hey she still here like old me. 🙂 That a long, long time ago, i.e. the ’50’s.
So maybe Pope wants to be the new “Won?” This just for fun!

Obama gives Pope Francis the finger (Power Line blog)

President Obama has decided that his invited guests for the arrival of Pope Francis next week will include transgender activists, the first openly gay Episcopal bishop, and a nun who criticizes church policies on abortion and euthanasia. The Vatican has objected. It notes that photos taken with the pope might be used to suggest his endorsement of activities he does not approve.

As if that matters to Obama. Why do you think he did it?

Francis sure does make me (not a Catholic) miss John Paul II a lot.

Folks can say I’m Pope bashing if they want (I really don’t give a rat’s ass), but I think Francis is an embarrassment to the Catholic religion. Just another lefty style commie that hates very blessed and rich countries (like the US); while he lives a pretty damn good life style himself. Sounds just like commie and commie lovers all over the world doesn’t it?

“The US doesn’t give enough”, “The US people are destroying the world’s climate”…bull shit and double bull shit. The US gives more money away than any other country and there’s still no definitive proof man has a damn thing to do with climate change. How about rather he does a massive protest on DC about the baby murder clinics all over this country? Not avant-garde enough for Francis?

Francis is trying to leave the same damn style legacy as Barry and the world will be a worse place due to them both.

Dave, We’re not in Kansas anymore. You aren’t the only one missing it.

Dave you could be right about an embarrassment and I don’t see him making any new inroads. But I think it is turning off as many as it is turning on.

Certainly in the bs supply they are cornering the market. This is just putting the stamp of approval of the RCC on the agenda. That’s all. I see the commercials already. Who knew he came with a commercial campaign roll out? We get a steady diet of the global swarming agenda already without the Pope.

Ah, legacy, that sums it up. Christian persecution, not a problem, but threat of global warming… Katy bar the door!

Well, well, we know what I think of this Pope and I don’t consider disagreeing with him bashing. I really don’t like how he’s made friends with O over climate change hoax and the social justice issue. That’s about all I can say about this. I think I’ve said just about everything in the past.

I do think the Pope is going to be a bit uncomfortable with the transgenders coming up to talk to him with their obvious sex changes. But, perhaps he’ll be accepting of it since he’s going around pardoning everyone who has done something stupid.

Oh Pepp, I do we discussed that. Yes, he got very friendly even though Obama is spinning it on him. (maybe spitting on him would be better put) We have exhausted that topic but Obama is the gift that keeps on offending. (besides deceiving)

Certainly the heat is on. Like you and I talked, I see how he invites the inflamer crowd to the WH. Well, no doubt there about Obama’s dual agenda. And Francis is going to work with that contemptible pretender? A heck of a way of working with someone…by offending and insulting their moral foundation. Sort of Alinsky-esque. Francis best brush up now that he’s in their political inner sanctum.

Just wanted to be sure I read this right… Francis best brush up now that they’re in his political and physical inner sphincter?
        Yep, I got it right.

Frankly the Pope is an embarrassment siding with the Muslim, commie Obama. In the past Popes would not have done this. I know when I was in Catholic school we were taught how Communism was anathema to free religion and how evil it was.

I don’t get how this Pope seems so stupid in not recognizing the evil of the Obama administration. What the heck does he think he[‘s going to gain by siding with such a hated world leader as O is.

Pepp, i agree. It’s sort of like tap-dancing with the devil.
But then he doesn’t have a confessional big enough for Barry.

Obama gains — Francis loses….its pretty straight forward. It’s the way it always has to be. And no one can upstage Obama.

      Pepp,
I’m wondering if this pope is closet homo. I heard they have a particularly solidarity with each other. For crying out loud, he should have told batears to eff off already if he had a set. Who would put up with this shit?

      • Peppermint says:

HN, I’ve wondered that too. I don’t know why the Pope is putting up with this crap at all. And like i said to Bull, it’s highly unusual for a Pope to align himself with commies. At least in my life time.

I got no quotes or links. Just heard on local talk radio Pope is offering pre-paid forgiveness insurance for future sin , no remorse or asking forgiveness necessary. I’ll buy a scratch off card. Not scratch and sniff though! 🙂

    Very objective post, Froggy.

As Rush said, he would never criticize the Pope’s stance on his faith.

But when he ventures into politics, he is fair game. I agree.
