I believe we have an ultimate grudge-match framed in the coming election. It boils down to terms more than narrative. The lefts’ narratives are amusing but the terms are deadly.
The terms are simple. Nationalism vs, Socialism. What could be a greater feud than that?
While some people may assert that you can have nationalism with socialism, it is a distorted illusion. Their kind of socialism will have no part in nationalism. It is their enemy. After all, nationalism is what they rail against and what drives the left.
Except when Obama was president, then they had a faux nationalism. It was really socialism disguised as fake nationalism. But it was as phony as a three dollar bill. They only used it to sell their socialism. Because at least then socialism was not out of the closet. They had to pretend socialism was not what they wanted. They created a sense of nationalism.
Now, any pretense is long gone about not wanting socialism. It is all the rage, socialists are kool. Bernie just ushered in the left’s real passion, Democrats want socialism. And when do they want it? Now. Bernie is the Pied Piper of Socialism.
To a person, every one of the Democrat candidates did follow him. They all compete for who can be a pure socialist. They realize there is no better way to buy votes than promising free stuff. And no better way to bring down America than giving free stuff to everyone, even illegals. It breaks your will and breaks the government’s budget.
The Left has apparently decided something else they now like almost as much. Executive power and executive orders. That is what it will take to enact most of their pipe dreams.
You know the rule of the left: never let democracy get in the way of socialism schemes. If people don’t like it, then find a way around them. If it can’t pass in law, then find a way using fiat law. Or find a judge to enact exactly what you want. Create such a struggle between branches or the people that they cannot say no. Make it seem inevitable.
But nationalism, there really is nothing conspiratorial about that. And you cannot fool the people about what is real nationalism. They know the difference.
By the way, Happy Fourth of July!
