Someone in Seattle has called the CHOP autonomous zone a peaceful occupation protest. Wait a minute. If there is any part of it that is an occupation, then it is not. When you are holding people or property against their legal will, can it still be called peaceful?
If a person goes into someone’s home and lays siege to it as a peaceful occupation — because he didn’t hurt someone in the process — does that make it right? Of course that is a siege, an illegitimate one. I suppose they can try to claim it is “peaceful.”
This is America for Pete’s sake.
But that is what the Left is doing. They are giving legitimacy to illegality. Oh sure, they could call it civil disobedience or whatever they want such as a protest. That doesn’t make it legal. So brand it a protest to give it all the legitimacy they need.
On the other hand, what is going on across the country is sedition. To call it anything else is just crackerjack. Not calling it that does not change what it is.
Then there were shootings in CHOP/CHAZ over the weekend. Details are sketchy because they refused to let cops in. One 19 year-old male was killed by a gunshot but it seems no investigation can be done. CHOP experts will investigate. Too bad for the victim.
By Monday, a statement comes from Council member Kshama Sawant calling the Seattle Seige a “peaceful Capitol Hill occupation.” There’s that inflammatory word, peaceful.
Here is what Attorney General Barr said:
“Protests and demonstrations are fine, but when they become mob violence we need to restore public order. We can’t be ruled by mobs, we have to be ruled by the legal process.”
“There’s obviously legitimate demonstrators out there raising concerns about police abuse. But, a lot of these demonstrations have been hijacked by, essentially, anarchistic groups and professional agitators who are really in it just for the violence and confrontation.”
But the minute legitimate protestors hijack or lay siege to property, it cannot legitimately be called peaceful. This all goes back to years of the occupy movement “protests.”.
Is occupation peaceful? By definition that is an oxymoron. Is lawlessness a protest?
Several things the Left are now experienced at are coups, sedition and occupations. But calling them other terms is laughable. Oh, and making lists of political demands.
Also the same council member suggested the shooting was a “right-wing attack.” Further, here is CHOP’s official statement about the “incident.” (only for referrence purposes)
Note: they are also calling for Mayor Jenny Durkan to resign. (emoticon that)
Voices of CHOP: “no organizations, protests, or revolutions are perfect ….”
