What if…. Start now with something so basic that you never before would have had to explain it to someone. But today you feel compelled to. And it is not because people are dumb or dumber than before or that they don’t know.
They don’t know because they’ve been conditioned. Reality is only their truth and the perception of their truth upon everyone else. Their truth is shallow; it is ideology. It is a mixture of the top popular wokeness ideas in history. Since this strain is a relatively new phenomenon, it is a bunch of new ideas all mixed together. Yet it all leads to places of old.
But old ideas are relics to be destroyed under this concept.
Wikipedia (source for all things today) says:
” Woke is a term that refers to a perceived awareness of issues that concern social justice and racial justice. It derives from the African-American Vernacular English expression stay woke.
First used in the 1940s, woke has resurfaced in recent years as a concept that symbolizes perceived awareness of social issues and movement. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term associated with left-wing politics, progressive or socially liberal causes such as anti-racism, LGBT rights, feminism and environmentalism. It has also been the subject of memes, ironic usage and criticism for its methods and consequences. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black Lives Matter movement and the death of George Floyd in 2020.”
What is this jabber about? History has not yet recorded the effects of this new wokeness on society. But by the first impressions, it will not be good. We still don’t know how far it can go yet. We can only hope that, while every popular idea seems to have a shelf life, this one too has an expiration date. But up to this point anyway, we cannot know that.
We can’t say for certainty that this one will die off, as other things have, that senses might prevail. What senses? That is because this is to replace sense or common sense specifically. Well, what is common sense anyway but a collection of biases supported by collective people? But who says common sense prevails? Or that common sense does take root?
Under these current conditions that is not a foregone conclusion anymore. Common sense indeed can be abolished if enough people decide it should be. We can make rules against common sense. We can disallow it.
Now that would be a very radical experiment or goal to try. But adherents are intent on doing just that. Who really cares what the purpose of it all is, if the predominant goal is only to tear down conventional ideas and reason? Where does that all leave you?
And since nothing really happens in this world in a vacuum, what is the relative effect of this in the world? We cannot even estimate that.
You see, strange as all this talk sounds, like some mumble jumble, it is the same kind of talk one could hear on a given day about what is going on. Things don’t make sense. Motives and culture itself seem deliberately twisted in knots. Why? Anyone’s guess is no better or worse than another’s. Who can say for certain? Is there anyone in particular leading it? Confusing. It is more of a group culture think, and momentum leads.
At this point, one could write some jabber like this meaning very little or a lot, depending, and could even be considered inspiring. So maybe there is some hope, though remote, that this radical thing called wokeness can reverse engineer itself by the same evolution it was created. But don’t bet on it. More appropriate is the concern of what it will do?
When does this woke get broke?
I don’t mind so much new ideas built on established things and concepts; but this wokeness appears hell-bent on destroying, tearing down and abolishing any conventional concepts.
Is it winning?
Does something now as basic as America survive the targeted onslaught? Stay tuned. But if not, don’t expect an epitaph. Woke doesn’t do those. God save us from this Woke.
We are where we are,
surrounded by Woke
and it don’t feel better,
It just feels worse.
