Hillbilly Wisdom

Did you ever notice that sometimes listening to the “smartest person” in the room is not necessarily the smartest thing to do? They make mistakes too. I prefer something called hillbilly wisdom. Though this used to be fairly common it is on the rare side today.

I like to think people were very blessed with something called common sense. Of course this is akin to that good old hillbilly wisdom. Many of its adherents do not put on pretenses, false or otherwise, about their decision faculties and are not recognized by letters before or after their names. They just know what they know and fictional accreditation is unnecessary. What do those letters really mean anyway?

I’m talking about common sense and a certain basic consensus in the country we all used to take for granted. It was everywhere and in everything. But it seems to be getting harder and harder to find. Instead, masquerading in its place, are things like guidance from government bureaucracies or regulations from the same. Just follow those and ask no questions is the running theory.

And heaven forbid, no matter what, do not think for yourself. That can be catastrophic, they lecture. When did all this individual critical thinking become so dangerous? I still think of that as an asset not a liability, though the elites and ruling class detest this notion. Critical thinking is something that must be squashed like a bug. This is a byproduct symptom of this new democracy they lecture about. You know, this democracy that needs to be protected and worshiped, which in realty is a lockstep mobocracy.

You are either in it or you are not.

I’m not interested in that kind of democracy they promote, or should I say demand. There is something called replacement theology and there is a replacement democracy movement, too. Killing off the filibuster because it stands in the way of the mob getting its authoritarian way is one current example. This mobocracy loved and worshiped the filibuster when they didn’t control the levers of power. But now that they achieved their ends – gaining control of power – it became totally obsolete.

So the filibuster is a relic now. It represents racism, somehow or other. Nothing could be further from the truth. So Jim Crow is the euphemism for all they hate. The filibuster was used as a tool for the minority. Now it should be discarded like a used tissue. This is where you know they have lost any sense of intellectual curiosity.

The self-anointed deciders of all things have done decided that there is no room for dissent. Everyone who doesn’t agree with them and their gifted cohorts must be expelled from the process, in both theory and fact. So they have social media and big tech, along with other corporations, do their bidding to that convenient end. “Nip it on the bud” could be their motto. Stop any skeptics or free thinkers from tinkering with their process. This has become the norm rather than the exception now.

And what is a fellow hillbilly to do? You know their prescription, sit down and shut up, and do what you are told. Is that any way to run the largest free country in the world, a country whose claim to fame is this individual common wisdom? The answer is we are as dispensable as the filibuster. Don’t bother trying to understand their rationale because there really is none. It is about power pure and simple. Just as it was with King George; their power shall reign supreme and that is all there is to it.

So these smartest people in the room have no answers to things. Heck, they only offer more problems and crises. Their “solutions” are specious having more to do with preserving their power than fixing anything. In fact, the objective is not fixing problems, it is breeding and using problems to their benefit. That’s their fuel; the more problems the more opportunities for them. We’ve heard them say it.

What about the hillbilly wisdom that doesn’t want any part of their chronic opportunism? Well, it simply has to be abolished or at least shoved into a black hole where it can have no meaningful affect on their agenda. We are to be scooped up in their vortex of power and scattered into oblivion, especially so we cannot talk amongst ourselves or organize, which is the greatest danger to their democracy. Free and critical thinkers are the enemy of the state. The jackboot of the system must crush it in its infancy. But what does that sound like? What kind of system does that look like?

Intellectual curiosity became intellectual catastrophe and intellectual terrorism.

These are smart and serous people, we are reminded. Media calls Biden’s appointees “very serious and smart people.” All they have to do is abolish everyone else. But when did Hillbilly wisdom, or its cousin, ever threaten and destroy the country? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-intellectual just anti-stupidity.
