No, not those kind. It’s astonishing how in 2021, with all our advances in society and technology that we could end up looking at a large chunk of our fellow countrymen and yet have to ask the probative question: “who are these people?”
But that is a serious question. I don’t think we would have had to raise that in the past. So much for shared purposes, values or goals. To add more injury, they don’t care.
Who in the hell are these people? What do they want? Why are they so miserable and irreconcilable? We basically know maybe not exactly who but what they are. They have thrown in their support not behind any national identity but a foreign identity to what this country stood for. Their goal is to jettison that nationality.
And now they have become so married to this foreign identity that we can hardly recognize them. All this disassociation is a radical goal. They are hell bent on disconnecting all social mores of America and civil society. None of that matters at all.
They proudly demonstrate what they are but who is still a question. So they are defined by ideology not by their individuality. How can you have any shared goals or values with that?
And that is the point. It is as if they think deconstructing our country, and subsequently society, is some kind of art form — a sophisticated parlance of chaotic demolition.
“Strange days indeed” – John Lennon, “Nobody Told Me”…. ‘there’d be days like these.”
