Hillary’s vitriol for miners

Hillary now lectures Trump on the campaign trail that “When you are running for president, you better mean what you say.” How’s that work for Hillary? She told her rally: “I will stand up and speak out for every American that he attacks and insults.”

Clinton: “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.

So she meant what she said. Oh, then she apologized by saying it was “taken out of context from what I meant.” She didn’t mean it? No, it was in context the way she meant it. The fact is since 2009 Boone County, W Va has already lost 4500 jobs.

The problem she has is the same one Obama had with “bitter clingers.” (which happen to be the same people Hillary is having problems with) It comes down to the same thing:

Barack Obama was speaking frankly to supporters, saying something popular with them. Hillary was saying what is popular with her supporters and Dems. It happens to be very offensive to the people she is speaking about. But who cares about them?

See, on one hand they know that message is received with cheers among supporters. On the other hand, it is intentionally insulting to the people he or she are speaking about. She merely slipped by giving the wrong people the real message. Now anyone can see how divisive their politics are. Their agenda requires the sacrifice from other people.

Then she expects to buy off the people she is attacking, coal companies and miners.

It is funny how they never say such a thing to bureaucrats in Washington: “we’re going to put all you out of business.” Oh, that wouldn’t go over well. How about a “retraining program” for old career politicians and bureaucrats? (there’s an expensive program)

She claims that she wants to throw 30 billion in aid at miners. Meanwhile, she also wants to pump in 60 billion to prop up energy alternatives. “Renewable energy” is very expensive and requires a lot of money. She’s only upset for taking heat over it. Stand up?

Weird science and broken borders

Obama goes way out on a limb to declare global warming is real because “science is science”. Well, except when it’s not. But Barry can believe in anything that might benefit his political agenda. Weasel Zippers has the story.

“The good news is that the public may get out ahead of some of their politicians,” Obama said, suggesting that as people see the effects of weather disasters like hurricanes and droughts, they might begin to change their minds.

“Those start multiplying, then people start thinking, ‘You know what? We’re going to reward politicians who talk to us honestly and seriously about this problem,’” he said.

News flash for Obama, science and facts are in: the border is being flooded. But I don’t see him concerned about that. O and his pen put out a big “open house” sign and strange how science and math confirms the results. He calls for no emergency actions to combat that.

And unlike Global Warming, that responsibility is in the Constitution. As much as the modern Left sees human beings and population as a huge threat, and cause of every problem we face, it’s amazing how they could not care less about the border.

You’d think anyone would be worried about those numbers and what it portends for our future. Where’s the sustainability plan for that? Where is the strategy to reverse the harmful affects of faulty borders? Meanwhile, Obama also has the largest carbon footprint of any president in history.

Now here’s a real hockey stick

In early 2011, 14 percent of all unauthorized immigrants were from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

In 2011, nearly 3.1 million Central American immigrants resided in the United States, representing close to 8 percent of all immigrants. The Central American born accounted for nearly 8 percent (3.1 million) of the country’s 40.4 million immigrants in 2011. This population has grown more than 60 times its size since 1960, when about 48,900 Central American immigrants resided in the country.

From 1960 to 2011, the number of Central American immigrants and their share of the U.S. immigrant population increased rapidly (see Table 1). At less than 50,000 in 1960, the population more than doubled in the 1960s, tripled in both the 1970s and 1980s, and again nearly doubled in the 1990s, reaching a 2-million mark by 2000 and then a 3-million mark by 2010. The Central-American born share of the U.S. immigrant population also increased – from less than 1 percent in 1960 to nearly 8 percent in 2010. Between 2010 and 2011, the number of immigrants from Central America remained largely unchanged.

As of 2011, approximately 39 percent of the 3.1 million Central American immigrants in the United States had entered since 2000;

The science is settled on how they’ve made the problem worse while talking up amnesty.

Total illegal population
Take Texas, for example: it had 1 million-ninety thousand illegals in 2000, increasing to 1.79 million in 2011. (and add 3 more years to that, plus this most recent uptick over the last months) No doubt Texas’s number has doubled from 2000. Reports are running at a thousand a day.

Yet all they talk about is global warming, ice, polar bears, rising sea levels, hurricanes, and UN reports. But the statistics are loud and clear on their denial about the illegal immigration problem. Sustainability anyone?

While he uses his pen to try to regulate the environment and lower rising sea levels, he uses his pen to increase the levels, and problems, of illegal immigration. The same pen.

You wanted a crisis, Obama? You got one. It’s time people “get out ahead” of Obama and politicians who incubated the problem. I’ll dub him ‘the doctor of weird science’.

I have a “dream”, too. It’s called Constitutional government.

Oil boom to global warming bust

Obama’s Energy Secretary: Oil boom boosted economy — but we’re focused on ‘global warming

By Valerie Richardson | The Washington Times | Saturday, May 31, 2014

GOLDEN — The booming oil industry has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise sluggish economy, but Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz says that the days of fossil fuel are numbered as the administration focuses on climate change.

Mr. Moniz, who spoke during Democratic Sen. Mark Udall’s energy forum at the Colorado School of Mines on Friday, said the increase in oil production “has had enormous economic benefit” by boosting the economy and helping correct a lopsided trade imbalance.

“I want to emphasize: The increase in oil has been again a great boom economically, lowering our imports, but we are focused on lowering our oil dependence,” said Mr. Moniz.

Oil imports have been declining as domestic production surges and fell to below 7 million barrels of crude per day in January for only the second time in 14 years. Meanwhile, the Commerce Department reported Thursday that the economy contracted for the first time since 2011.

“Why we are committed in the first place to this reduction in greenhouse gas emissions goes to what probably many in this room understand very, very well: the mitigation of the risk that we have from global warming and climate change,” said Mr. Moniz.

The secretary appeared in Colorado two days after he toured Louisiana Gulf Coast oil and gas operations with Sen. Mary Landrieu, another Democrat locked in a tough reelection battle. The visits also come with the Obama administration poised to announce Monday strict new standards on power-plant carbon dioxide emissions.

They never talk about the “risk” or affects of that so-called “mitigation” effort, like on the economy. The radical “greenhouse gases” are emanating from Washington, specifically the White House. The repercussions and affects of regulation are not a risk or worry to them. What about the risk their war on energy, including the XL Pipeline, poses? Destroying the economy under the guise of “Saving the planet” is job one.

Zero Hedge

As if the official news that the US economy is just one quarter away from an official recession (and with just one month left in the second quarter that inventory restocking better be progressing at an epic pace) but don’t worry – supposedly harsh weather somehow managed to wipe out $100 billion in economic growth from the initial forecast for Q1 GDP – here is some even worse news: if one excludes the artificial stimulus to the US economy generated from the Obamacare Q1 taxpayer-subsidized scramble, which resulted in a record surge in Healthcare services spending of $40 billion in the quarter, Q1 GDP would have contracted not by 1% but by 2%!

Pot-Pandering for votes in Florida

Democrats Hope Pot Gives Them Boost in Florida

by Mike Flynn 14 Apr 2014 | Breitbart

Democrat operatives are openly touting a medical marijuana ballot initiative in Florida as a means of helping Democrats win elections in 2014, saying the move, which will likely help bring young voters to the poll, is necessary for the greater good.

“I wish that it didn’t take medical marijuana on the ballot to motivate our young voters to go and vote,” said Ana Cruz, former executive director of the Florida Democratic Party told the Associated Press. “But listen, we’ll take it any way we can get it.”
Midterm elections experience a steep drop-off in voter turnout compared with presidential elections. Those less likely to vote include young, minority and low-income voters, who are all important parts of the Democrat vote in elections.

In 2006, Democrat and union activists backed initiatives to increase the minimum wage in several battleground states to draw voters inclined to support Democrats to the polls. Democrats took control of Congress that year, although their win likely had more to do with Bush-fatigue and set-backs in Iraq than the narrow wage issue.

Democrats are banking on the chance to legalize some pot use to draw young voters in Florida, which is host to several competitive House races and a close Governor race.

It is a kind of “bank-shot” campaigning. The party fears that its direct message and platform isn’t enough to draw voters to the polls. So, it hopes that a side issue like medical marijuana will increase interest in the election and the voters most likely to support that initiative will then reflexively back the Democrat candidates.

If you didn’t like pot as an issue before, how do you feel about pot-the political issue now?

Pot is now THC to the DNC. “But listen, we’ll take it any way we can get it”: doesn’t that sum it up? I suppose that qualifies as medicinal use to them.

Alternative energy meets alternative reality

That’s right, another electric car company pulls the plug on manufacturing in the US, as its cash dwindles. And guess what? It’s another stimulated company.

Sure pick on those green car companies again — but can we substitute another color because they aren’t profitable?

They got ’09 stimulus funds to a tune of a 29 million dollar grant to produce 510 electric vehicles. Since then to 2013 they produced 439 vehicles for municipal use.

Now the company CEO Bryan Hansel said:

“We didn’t see value in continuing to build a small number of vehicles at the price point we were,” said Hansel, who noted that despite federal support the company was manufacturing vehicles at a loss. Smith has been struggling for some time. It reported annual losses in the millions after receiving DOE funds.

You think you’re operating at a loss?? But they didn’t mind producing them at a loss with our money. Better still, Energy Secretary, Ernest Moniz, is eager to restart the stalled program and crank up subsidies to companies, with 16 billion still in the program.

The DOE news comes on the heels of two other companies going belly up in the program. This one just packed up the US plant and will continue overseas operations.

But the DOE secretary said:

Moniz expressed confidence that the electric vehicle market has improved since those high-profile failures.

“The U.S. auto industry has evolved since the ATVM Program was established and today we are presented with an opportunity to hit the accelerator on U.S. auto manufacturing growth.”

“Hit the accelerator” after another company slammed on the brakes. Its evolved all right, into a spiral and they are running out of the country.

Now this is not an alternative energy agenda, this is an alternative reality agenda.

Greenpirates! Russia charges Greenpeace with piracy

October 2, 2013 by CFACT Ed,

Russian authorities have charged five Greenpeace campaigners with piracy in Murmansk and are continuing to detain and investigate as many as 25 more. If convicted they face 10-15 years in prison.

Greenpeace’s diesel powered ship Arctic Sunrise was seized and 30 campaigners arrested after attempting to board the Prirazlomnaya oil platform in the Pechora Sea.  Details here.

The five are Roman Kieron Bryan, Dolgov, Dmitri Litvinov, Alminhana Maciel,  Ana Paula, Sini Saarela; Russian Roman Dolgov.  Bryan claims to be a “freelance” videographer, rather than a campaigner.

The 30 people aboard Arctic Sunrise hail from a variety of nations including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, the United States, Britain, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Ukraine, Russia, France, Italy, Turkey, Finland, Switzerland, Poland and Sweden.

The piracy charges surprised many after Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his opinion that the Greenpeace campaigners are not pirates, although he held open the likelihood of other charges.

Alternatives and the reinvestment act

The $139 million Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt modernization was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, with all the trimmings. I wonder if they sent a thank you note?

Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Modernization Project

An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Project

The Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building in the heart of Portland, Oregon, is an 18-story, 525,000 square foot facility that is home to more than 16 federal agencies and 1,200 federal employees.

The building was originally constructed in 1974 and underwent a major renovation between 2009 and 2013. Today the building is a cornerstone of GSA’s green building portfolio with all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and data systems designed to make it one of the most energy efficient office buildings in the country. The work was completed by a team of SERA Architects and Howard S. Wright Construction who were awarded the contract in 2010.

The newly-renovated Federal Building includes a number of efficient, sustainable and innovative technologies including:

  • solar thermal panels that will provide for 30% of the building’s domestic hot water
  • a 13,000 square foot solar roof that will produce 3% of the building’s electrical energy requirements annually
  • modernized elevators that generate power as they descend
  • unique shading devices on the south, west and east facades designed to respond to the sun conditions, maximize daylight and minimize solar heat gain during the summer
  • energy efficient electric lighting systems with advanced controls that will reduce light energy usage by 40% compared to Oregon code
  • a 165,000 gallon cistern used to flush low-flow toilets and irrigate native landscaping
  • energy efficient water fixtures, which in addition to rainwater reuse, will reduce overall water consumption by 60% compared to typical office buildings
  • a dedicated outside air system that provides 100% fresh air

The operationally and economically efficient high-performance building is expected to achieve a 50 percent reduction in energy use compared to the old building and a 60 percent water reduction compared to Oregon code. The facility is designed to meet the Federal Guiding Principles for High Performing Green Buildings and the Obama Administration’s directives for agencies to lead by example in environmental, energy, and economic performance. Through these directives agencies are required to meet a range of energy, water, pollution, and waste reduction targets. Additionally, the facility is expected to achieve LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for its use of cutting-edge sustainable design and technology.

GSA was appropriated more than $5.5 billion under the Recovery Act to convert federal facilities into high-performance green buildings and construct energy-efficient federal buildings, courthouses, and land ports of entry.[snip]

The building “is one of 600 that the GSA owns or operates in the Pacific Northwest.”

More: http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/252613

Well there is a lot you can do with 139 million dollars. But here is the GSA which manages or owns how many properties around the country, getting the benefits of tax dollars for the project. Large enough to have its own scandal.

Why does GSA have to be a great beneficiary of the spendathon? Surely it has assets of its own. Must have ‘mo money’ They have vacant properties sitting. And then they flaunt it as a great achievement. Still when the work stops those extra jobs are gone.

So they couldn’t have done this without the stimulus? It just pisses me off. Is GSA the sustainable ferry now, blessing all the people with their spending? Who will pay in the end? And they’re on the road to save resources.

Why couldn’t they prove “sustainability” and find the means to do it? That’s what anyone else would have to do. The irony that GSA is preaching sustainability. I guess Portland is now Porkland.

White House solar panels being installed this week

Wa-Post — By Juliet Eilperin, Published: August 15

After nearly three years, the White House began installing solar panels on the First Family’s residence this week, a White House official confirmed Thursday.

The Obama administration had pledged in October 2010 to put solar panels on the White House as a sign of the president’s commitment to renewable energy.

The White House official, who asked not to be identified because the installation is in process, wrote in an e-mail the project is “a part of an energy retrofit that will improve the overall energy efficiency of the building.”

At the time of the 2010 announcement, then-Energy Secretary Steven Chu and White House Council on Environmental Quality chair Nancy Sutley said the administration would conduct a competitive bidding process to buy between 20 and 50 solar panels.

The officials did not identify the supplier or cost of the project, but wrote the White House “has begun installing American-made solar panels” and the initiative, “which will help demonstrate that historic buildings can incorporate solar energy and energy efficiency upgrades, is estimated to pay for itself in energy savings over the next eight years.”

The retrofit also includes installing updated building controls and variable speed fans, the official added. […/]

On Thursday, climate activist Bill McKibben, whose group 350.org had organized one of the campaigns to install solar power at the White House, welcomed the news that the installation had begun.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/08/15/white-house-solar-panels-finally-being-installed/

But wouldn’t it be great if Barry would cut his offensive, personal carbon footprint, including AF-1 and consolidate those extra and double trips? He could probably save enough in one month to pay for all those solar panels and upgrades.

Get this, he cannot afford to have school kids or visitors for White House tours but he must expidite this… achem, it will eventually pay for itself. But White House tours are way too expensive and there is no return for the “investment”. That’s the Hypobama mentality.

Well kids, unless yo can prove you can produce electricity or some service to the White House, then forget it, you are not green enough. (maybe you could take turns pedaling a generator while the next group comes through….or maybe you could wash dishes?)

Meanwhile, Barry and his family will freely abuse the privileges of carbon-producing technology as much as they can, as far as they can, as long as they can; while they deny student field trips and tours. The efficiency gauge is busted on AF-1.

In his second term, Obama becomes bolder on the environment– Wa-Post

The shift has alarmed some industry officials, as well as coal allies. Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) described the administration as coal’s “adversary” and brought a state delegation headed by West Virginia Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin (D) into the White House on Aug. 1 to meet with McCarthy and Michael Rodriguez, the White House legislative affairs director.

While Manchin called the nearly hour-long session “very respectful and productive,” he also said it exposed the “deep differences” between politicians like himself and Obama.

“You cannot describe this any differently than as a war on coal, and not just in West Virginia or the U.S. but on a global scale,” he said. “They’re using every tool they have to destroy the most abundant, reliable and affordable resource that we have.”

Kids and tourists, just think, you can tell everyone your sacrifices helped pay for those solar and efficiency upgrades. Won’t that be special? And you can also remember that when you or your parents pay that added Executive Order tax on the phone you carry.

Obama’s White House put it this way:

Due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration, we regret to inform you that WhiteHouse Tours will be canceled effective Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule affected tours.

We very much regret having to take this action, particularly during the popular Spring touring season. Please check this webpage for updates regarding this situation, or contact the White House Visitors Office 24 Hour Hotline at (202) 456-7041.
Sincerely,
The White House Visitors Office

Fortunately, no such sequestration on solar panels to the White House.
(Whew, that’s a relief…. or, you know, people might talk and complain!)

Obama’ economic recipe for disaster

Living in a communist economy

July 21, 2013
By Alan Caruba

In the former Soviet Union, the joke was “They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work.” It took over four decades of the Cold War to finally put an end to the lie that Communism as an economic system works. After the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the Soviet Union came to an end on December 25, 1991. By then Communism worldwide had killed hundreds of millions of people.

Now, it is true that America is not a Communist nation, but by doggedly pursuing the theories put forth by Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, as well as the historically failed theories of Keynes, a British economist who believed that the government must pump money into the economy to keep it afloat, Obama has been trying to turn our Capitalist economy into a Communist one.

Calling our economy “Communist” may seem unduly harsh, but under Obama and his predecessors, the government is in charge of the banking sector, the health and insurance industries, General Motors was nationalized, the government is deeply involved in mortgage lending and now controls student loans. Now stand back and ask if the government – the State – is not now more Communist than Capitalist?

Wedded to failed economic theories, Obama has utterly failed to turn around the economy after the 2008 financial crisis and ensuing recession.

Writing in the August 2012 edition of Forbes magazine, Louis Woodhill said, “If mismanaging an economic recovery were an Olympic event, President Obama would be standing on the middle platform right now, accepting the gold medal. Deep recessions are supposed to be followed by strong recoveries, but, under Obama, the worst recession since the 1930s has been followed by the slowest economic recovery in the history of the republic. In a very real sense, there has been no recovery at all – things are still getting worse.”

Obama still has three and a half years to make things ever more worse than they are. A Marxist in every sense of the word, Obama is so wedded to his belief in “redistribution” of wealth, that he spent the first term blaming his failed economic policies in George W. Bush and blathering endlessly about “millionaires and billionaires.” If the government confiscated all their wealth, it would barely pay for its operation for a month, if that.

It is as if you are seeing the opening scenes of a play, one that gives plenty of hints of all that is to come. The only thing left out are the exact details but you know it is destined for doom. All you can do is sit and watch the sinister plot unfold.

What you do know, after the opening scene, is that its design leaves no way to reverse the course of events. The “fair” that is loosely tossed around has been completely stripped of meaning. All that seems to matter is the agenda.

Hot Potatoes and the Keystone Pipeline

Don’t think those two have anything in common?

Obama has flirted with his movement for years on his position to kick the Keystone pipeline to the curb. I think he’d like to destroy even the idea.

In what Republicans hoped would be positive news, Obama handed off of the XL decision to the State Department, tying the approval to his emissions criteria. Well, enter John Kerry. He’s been blowing hot air about global warming and climate change for years, rivaling Al Gore. Now Obama hands off the hot potato to State. But State had suggested the pipeline would not add a net increase to global carbon missions. So Kerry to the rescue.

President Barack Obama announced Tuesday that he would approve the Keystone XL pipeline if the State Department certified it would not lead to a net increase in global carbon emissions. Congressional Republicans were quick to presume victory, noting that a previous State Department analysis had said just that.
But that analysis, which has been heavily criticized, was done before Kerry was named secretary of state. And what Obama has effectively done is hand the Keystone decision to one of Washington’s fiercest backers of strong climate change action.
Michael Brune, Sierra Club, said: “With Obama laying down the standard that a pipeline that exacerbates climate change is not in our national interest, it’s pretty clear KXL is not long for this world.” See

Related article:

Allowing the Keystone pipeline to be built requires a finding that doing so would be in our nation’s interest,” the president said in a Tuesday speech on climate change. “And our national interest will be served only if this project does not significantly exacerbate the problem of carbon pollution. The net effects of the pipeline’s impact on our climate will be absolutely critical to determining whether this project is allowed to go forward.
The president has avoided weighing in on the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline for several years now, citing an executive order asking the State Department to make a determination on the project’s viability first. Environmentalists have called on him to spike the project entirely because of risks that it will contribute irrevocably to global warming and potentially contaminate drinking water if it leaks. Conservatives and even some labor groups have encouraged Obama to approve of the project because of its potential to create jobs. See

Kerry had so few accomplishments over the years that he will foam at the mouth to kill the pipeline, taking the hot issue off Obama’s hands. It is a political benefit with their base, which is all they care about. Poking conservatives in the eye is a bonus.

Obama already opened up the “War on Coal” front in his war on energy.

Obama, in a speech Tuesday at Georgetown University, was to announce he’s issuing a presidential memorandum to launch the first-ever federal regulations on carbon dioxide emitted by existing power plants, moving to curb the gases blamed for global warming despite adamant opposition from Republicans and some energy producers.
The far-reaching plan marks Obama’s most prominent effort yet to deliver on a major priority he laid out in his first presidential campaign and recommitted to at the start of his second term: to fight climate change in the U.S. and abroad and prepare American communities for its effects. Environmental activists have been irked that Obama’s high-minded goals never materialized into a comprehensive plan.
/…
The linchpin of Obama’s plan involves new and existing power plants. Forty percent of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, and one-third of greenhouse gases overall, come from electric power plants, according to the federal Energy Information Administration. The Obama administration already has proposed controls on new plants, but those controls have been delayed and not yet finalized.
Tuesday’s announcement would be the first public confirmation that Obama plans to extend carbon controls to existing plants. See

I haven’t thought of a good analogy for putting Kerry in charge of Keystone, but I’m working on it. Well, in his Presidential run he said he was “changing the dynamics”, now he has a shot at changing the dynamics of our energy.

As Secretary of State, Kerry said, “”Here, we can do the best of things that you can do in government. That’s what excites me.” Yea, no doubt about the excited part.

Obama’s energy injustice

Africa bound and down.

While at home being engaged in a “war on energy”, Obama lectures Africa about “power” access and pledges a new “initiative” to power up Africa. (Doubling electricity access)

Maybe he can show them how to turn algae or rubber trees into fuel for cars too. Is he promising to give them windmills? I can hardly bear to listen to his lecturing, who does he think he’s talking to? Oh that is rich.

Does he want to show them how to price electricity out of reach of the common person? Or how to kill pipelines or prohibit natural gas development, or how to prevent off-shore drilling? I know, he can tell them how they must close their mines too, and stop using their natural resources to propel themselves. Why not wrap it up by telling them that is social justice? Then let them know the price of electricity will necessarily skyrocket.

Then he preaches “transparency and accountability”. So only in remote regions of Africa could they believe him or trust his words. Even they probably heard and see the hypocrisy of the elitist, dictatorial Obama. Show them how to rule by fiat, fear, and ideology. Why did he forget to remind them, “you didn’t build that”?

Government of the absurd

In his last inaugural speech, Obama lectured:

“We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate.”

Let’s hear it for politics of destruction and fear.

Now he comes out on global warming to claim we don’t have time for a meeting of the Flat Earth Society. I have never seen a bigger hypocrite than Obama.

Months after delivering his inaugural address lecturing others about name calling and partisanship, Hypocrite-in-Chief says he doesn’t have any “patience” and “we don’t have time for a meeting of the Flat Earth Society”

It is amazing what he does have patience for. Eight months after Benghazi he has no lack of “patience” to get to the bottom of that scandal. The White House said that was old, it happened a long time ago. He had no shortage of patience on “fast and furious” – that must be ancient history.Heck he has no impatience to get to the bottom of any of his scandals, including solyndragate or greengate.

Obama gets the award for substituting spectacle for politics. He creates a spectacle out of everything under the guise of politics. And when he is not getting his way, he lashes out lecturing everyone else, including those who are not in politics. Then it must be our fault for not understanding. He went on a gun-control binge and when it was not going his way, he lashed out in a tirade and used children as a backdrop to create a spectacle to attack his opponents. We got a lecture again. He tells the people they are wrong. We are wrong about Obamacare, because we don’t like it and don’t want it. We are wrong about NSA collecting and spying on all Americans. We are wrong about everything we oppose him on.

Reasoned debate?
Then he calls us “flat earthers”. He substitutes personal attack and ad hominem for dialogue. How’s that for “reasoned debate”? Mr reasonable  even seems to argue with an agency in his administration:  when the IRS came out and admitted that it targeted conservatives, Obama said it would be “outrageous, if true”. And he seems to think the presidency gives him license to lie.

Obama on IRS scandal

This is pretty straightforward,” Mr. Obama told reporters. “If in fact IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that’s outrageous and there’s no place for it.”

“The IRS as an independent agency requires absolute integrity and people have to have confidence that they’re… applying the laws in a non-partisan way,” he said. “If you’ve got the IRS operating in anything less than a neutral and non-partisan way then that is outrageous … People have to be held accountable and it’s got to be fixed.”

Pretty straight forward? If? You are kidding, right? We have finally reached the pinnacle of a government of the absurd.

When they do something wrong there is a dumbed-down report to say it was an innocuous act and that the administration, powers that be, had no culpability in it even when the facts clearly indicate the opposite. Obama’s standard reply to the scandals is: we will investigate that and “get to the bottom of it”. Then they never do get to the bottom of it.

Just like EPA dictates are pretty straight forward, or his war on energy, ObamaCare or gun control were straight forward? (straight off the cliff)

David Axelrod Defends WH On IRS Scandal
When Axelrod was asked about IRS, he said we know it is not political because it would be a politically stupid thing to do. However, lying about Benghazi on the eve of an election is not a stupid thing to do? There were clearly politics involved in that. That lying was straight from the WH and surrogates.

We are to believe IRS actions were not politically motivated. So if the targeting was political — which it couldn’t be anything but — then it was “stupid”, in Axelrod’s judgment.

First, they denied the validity of it, even after the IRS admitted it did it and after an Inspector’s report determined they did it. “If true”, Obama said? That is denial.

“If anybody political was involved this wouldn’t have happened, because anybody with a modicum of political sense would have said, ‘This is ludicrous. What are you guys doing?’” – MSNBC.

Take one more look at just Axelrod’s statement: it wouldn’t Have Happened ‘If Anybody political Was Involved’ The assertion: if someone political was involved, it couldn’t have happened because they would know how wrong that is. So political operatives are smarter than that.(smell that elitism) Political operatives are smarter than bureaucrats and gubmint employees.

Remember Axelrod’s other excuse for Obama is that government is so vast he could not know what is going on in it. But at least political operatives are a lot smarter than those government employees! I believe they’re both pretty dumb but since he did pose the question — Anthony Wiener flashes through my mind. So, those political operatives have more morals than agency employees, even the IRS. See what I mean, it is government of the absurd – or government of the stupid, whichever you want to use.

And I’m sure government is so vast he could not know about Solyndra and all the other failures, or EPA’s plotted reign of terror, or spygate, or anything. Nope. Just be on the lookout for that absolutism and its sister, spectacle disguised as politics. They’re trouble.

Government of the absurd by the absurd.

Obama: EPA is the gate to the climate

From NRO :

If only President Obama simply had cried wolf. Instead, the president announced that, on behalf of “all of humankind,” he is in effect directing the EPA to take over the American economy. New power plants will be subject to emissions controls, and existing plants will have to be retrofitted to comply with new standards. New restrictions on heavy trucks will affect the movement of freight and goods across the country.

New subsidies will be handed down for politically connected energy firms, and federal lands will be set aside for their use. New federal impositions will affect the construction of factories, commercial buildings, and private homes.

The president says that this is all enabled by the “overwhelming judgment of science.” It certainly has not been enabled by something so mundane as the law. We rather suspect that the overwhelming judgment of Congress would be against the president’s program of regimenting the entire American economy under the management of a newly empowered EPA. But the president has made it clear that he intends to act largely through administrative fiat, subverting the democratic process and the people’s elected representatives. Unhappily, the Supreme Court has abetted this ambition by misconstruing the Clean Air Act as a warrant of action on global warming.

Every economic activity involving energy or transportation — which is to say, every economic activity — will be affected by the president’s global-warming program.

Barry-‘Ozone’-Obama lays out his second term “climate” strategy:

(it reads something like this, no matter what he says or promises — a little satire)

“I will continue laying out scandals. The air in DC will become extremely inhospitable, putting air conditioning and filtration at a premium. You all will continue to try to make me look bad. I will continue to lie… I mean you all are so gullible.

The political pollution in DC will reach a historical high. Clouds of chaos and confusion will slow even traffic to a crawl. Never let a storm go to waste. I will continue to demonize my opponents or anyone in my way.

I will use any… and I mean any, extraordinary and unconstitutional means to achieve my ends to extort the climate for every political and geo-political opportunity I possibly can. And there won’t be a damn thing you can do about me using executive power and regulation to accomplish it. Oh, like what are you going to impeach me or something? Like I said, you people are so gullible.”

Yet during Barry’s glorious Georgetown address, another controversy erupted because all the networks cut away – even MSNBC. That prompted a tweet from NYT reporter that you could turn to one network covering the entirety, the Weather Channel. (good thing he wasn’t upstaged by a storm..) Wolfy Blitzer just talked over it. No loss there.

Obama’s jihad on energy

This was a WH response to the energy petition on his war on coal.

Embracing an All-of-the-Above Approach to American Energy

Since taking office, President Obama has been committed to an all-of-the-above energy strategy for America. It’s a strategy that’s rooted in the idea that we should take full advantage of all of the energy resources that we have, while ensuring we do so in a safe and responsible way.
After four years of this strategy, its impact is clear. We have greater energy security now than any time in recent history. We have doubled our use of renewable power from wind, solar, and geothermal sources. Imports of foreign oil have fallen to the lowest level in decades. Domestic oil production is surging and America is currently the largest producer of natural gas in the world.
At the same time the President has made clear that he understands that coal has played a critical role in our country’s energy portfolio for decades and will continue to be an important source of energy in the future.
The President also believes that America must take a leadership role in developing and manufacturing technologies that allow us to burn coal more cleanly and efficiently. Achieving that goal will also boost our economy, promote public health, and position the United States as the leader in the global clean energy race.
That’s why President Obama has invested nearly $6 billion in clean coal technology and research and development – the largest such investment in U.S. history. Notably, this strategy has attracted over $10 billion in additional private sector capital investment. And these investments are already making a difference. For example, according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, the United States leads the race to develop the world’s first large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) demonstration project.
The investments we are making in cutting-edge, clean coal technologies are not only vital to the future of this industry, but also to the larger goal of taking full advantage of America’s energy resources.
Tell us what you think about this response and We the People.

Here is the petition:

End to the War On Coal, end the job killing policies of the EPA and require an economic impact analysis of new policies.

The Obama Administration through its EPA is destroying the coal industry of this country. To date, tens of thousands of coal mining and related jobs have been lost due to this ill-advised war against American energy.

We, the undersigned, call upon the Obama Administration to end this job killing war on coal, to rein in the EPA and require an economic impact assessment published prior to the enactment of each and every new policy and regulation.

Reply to Obama’s all the above statement.

“Since taking office, President Obama has been committed to an all-of-the-above energy strategy for America. It’s a strategy that’s rooted in the idea that we should take full advantage of all of the energy resources that we have, while ensuring we do so in a safe and responsible way.”

Moratorium on off-shore drilling? Federal land off-limits? Dragging his heals on this pipeline. Constant interference in drilling and obstruction on fracking.

Is that what he means by “Taking full advantages of our resources”? What he has done is politicized them, and took full advantage of the politics, then used them and our resources as a lever against us – coal being the prime example.

“After four years of this strategy, its impact is clear. We have greater energy security now than any time in recent history. We have doubled our use of renewable power from wind, solar, and geothermal sources. Imports of foreign oil have fallen to the lowest level in decades. Domestic oil production is surging and America is currently the largest producer of natural gas in the world.

After four years, what’s clear is his support the most expensive gas and oil prices in history. And the EPA is out of control, next it will tax the rain. Any new producition is largely due to Bush politcies he takes credit for. Solar and geothermal are not helping the gas at the pump or transportation costs.”

Greater energy security? Is that what you call it when energy is holding us, our households and economy hostage to some radical agenda?

“That’s why President Obama has invested nearly $6 billion in clean coal technology and research and development – the largest such investment in U.S. history. Notably, this strategy has attracted over $10 billion in additional private sector capital investment.”

One only sees you doing for energy what you did for healthcare…driving up the cost, and forcing mandates and rules of compliance. More energy security?

“All of the above approach” is actually some of the above, and regulated into oblivion. And it means wistfully throwing dollars at green energy, helter skelter, and wasting huge amounts on failed companies without return. Is that an “investment”? In fact, we pick up the tab when they do fail.

“That’s why President Obama has invested nearly $6 billion in clean coal technology and research and development – the largest such investment in U.S. history. Notably, this strategy has attracted over $10 billion in additional private sector capital investment. And these investments are already making a difference.”

So spending 6 billion on research to force coal companies out of business is an investment. The real private sector that is spending gets results while he takes credit for that. Driving the cost of coal skyward while cutting our supply and use does what? Making a difference? Yea, driving prices and regulation upward and manipulating the market.

Further, the object of the petition was about- this administration’s systematic destruction of the coal industry through EPA and overregulation, coupled with the dysfunctional energy policies. All compounded by the rising costs of energy, and his stubbornness about the Keystone XL Pipeline in particular – a project that won’t cost us.

You made no mention of reining in the out of control EPA. And what about that economic impact assessment, prior to every new policy and regulation? A complete and total non-response you gave it. This is not a campaign debate where you just throw out your fluffy ideas while dodging the questions. This is America’s energy and security at stake — not your personal political toy.

Obviously the war on coal and jihad against energy continues.

What did Archie know, and when did he know it.

Energy and Archie were fodder for jokes about Carter but Obama can make Jimmah look good.

Off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Obamaland

Barry started his term out on a rocky road. That is if you call playing golf with a couple of big-oil guys in Palm Springs while his minions are screaming for ending the Keystone pipeline outside the White House, “rocky”.

So his sycophant, low information voters weren’t too happy with that news. Oh well, welcome to the land of disenchantment with the rest of us. Do they want to compare outrage? I don’t think so. His magical mystery agenda will not solve our country’s problems, nor will the Kool Aid.

Everyone who uses oil or its byproducts has seen the price tag double since he came to office. But that matters not to the anti-energy tyrant or his little green friends with their war on energy. They scream for more inaction. “Can we have LESS, please?”

It is entirely contrary to the needs of the nation, but that’s okay to the Left. They’ll run their cars on mushrooms and algae or nothing. Meanwhile, everyone on the Left is quite content to pay double for their fuel, triple if they could have their way. And they would praise the results, as people go to the poorhouse for their agenda.

If people cannot afford to heat their homes or neglect their other necessities to pay for their fuel, it bothers the Left about as much as a flea on a grizzly bear. Whoops, sorry to bring those poor bears into a matter of politics. Well, it is politics. Does anyone in Obama’s land of make-believe really think this is about the environment, climate, or being stewards of our resources? Of course it isn’t. It’s politics, pure and simple.

That’s why, in my opinion, it was good to see all the green hypocrites and all their friends out demonstrating for what they believe in. Remember they “believed” in Obama too. It must make any used car salesman drool with envy that there are still that many suckers. Why worry about a sucker being born a minute when there are already that many of them out there, probably multiplying too…even if it’s by accident. It only shows how out of step they really are.

Isn’t it convenient for the left that the mantra “drill baby drill” has been replaced with pay baby pay? They are ecstatic about what that does to consumers forcing cuts in use and choices. That’s what they wanted and they got it. The next time Obama tries to twist the oil issue into an illogical pretzel, remember who is getting what they want.

The who by the way applies to Iran too. While they talk about the tough sanctions, Iran knows the one thing that hurts their economy drastically is low oil prices. They need or want the price of Brent around 117 /barrel. And they are near enough to their optimal price it doesn’t hurt them much. We, however, are hurting. The economy is still sputtering. Do you think the high cost of oil and energy has anything to do with it? Not if you are in their land of make-believe. (it might be a nice place to visit, but you sure wouldn’t want to live there.)

Bloomberg.com

The rally in crude prices earlier this month was driven by renewed optimism in economic growth rather than “hard demand data,” according to a report by Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Brent prices reached a 2013 high of $118.90 on Feb. 8.

“The current sell-off in oil is bringing prices more in line with the underlying fundamentals,” said the bank’s New York-based head of commodities research, Jeffrey Currie, in a report e-mailed today.

Price Outlook
WTI may fall next week after weak consumption boosted crude inventories, a separate Bloomberg News survey showed.

It sort of makes you curious what other solutions may lurk along their yellow brick road in Obamaland?

Obama’s Thugocracy

Barry’s campaign is now rolling itself into a non-profit lobby organization as an “issue advocacy” campaign. Anyone not see that coming?

That puts the lie to the mantra that it was ever a grassroots org from the beginning. It is a top down operation. It’s bad enough what Obama has done to politics and government, now he gives us a genuine thugocracy run out of Chicago, by his hand-picked thugsters, to carry it forward.

Here come the brown shirts.

The “revolving door” of Washington politics has been removed.

Businessweek:
Obama Converts Campaign to Nonprofit to Push Agenda

President Barack Obama is converting the machinery of his re-election campaign into a tax-exempt nonprofit group to push his second-term legislative agenda.

The new group, Organizing for Action, will be headed by Jim Messina, who served as Obama’s 2012 campaign manager. The group, separate from the Democratic National Committee, will solicit donations from corporations and individuals to augment Obama’s legislative initiatives on such issues as climate change, economic programs, reducing gun violence or overhauling immigration policy.

The organization “will be an unparalleled force in American politics,” according to an e-mail sent to supporters by the campaign under Obama’s name. “It will work to turn our shared values into legislative action.”

The transformation marks the first time a president has reconfigured the pieces of a re-election campaign into an outside group formed for the express purpose of pressuring Congress to pass the administration’s agenda.[**i.e. lobby itself]

“Organizing for Action is going to be a very effective tool to organize people all over the country for the president’s agenda,” Stephanie Cutter, who served as Obama’s deputy campaign manager, said today in an interview on MSNBC. Americans “voted for change, they voted for action and they voted for a pretty specific agenda.”

How’s that for change you can believe in? And before he is even sworn in for a second term. I can smell the elitism, from the people who ridiculed the Tea Party as “astroturf”.

That’s “change you can believe in”.

Abound Solar Finances Under Investigation

DOE-loan recipient filed for bankruptcy in June

BY: Washington Free Beacon Staff

The finances of a solar company that received $68 million in federal stimulus money are now under investigation in Colorado, reports ABC Denver:

http://freebeacon.com/abound-solar-finances-under-investigation/

———————————————————————————————–

I’ll just add some of my comments.
After all the rage about solar companies, where Obama succumbed to one of his worst losses — or “bets”– the industry is on the move once again. But not in an upward “can’t fail” way.

Months back, large solar companies in Europe were forced to lay off workers or just went under. The market flooded with cheaper goods from China was to blame, as it also cornered the market on raw materials. Sales for Solar companies outside China plummeted. China appeared to be capitalizing on all the losses elsewhere.

Then, stories came about huge layoffs in Germany as companies went belly up. The business and future it held for employees even in Germany sank for an industry which seemed to hold such promise for its economy.

This is a warning about the dangers of government manipulated industries. China is the prime example. The solar industry once heralded as the new wave enjoyed growth and expansion everywhere, especially in China. The same government that subsidized it is picking winners and losers. Sound familiar? The state-controlled banks are the government’s cops on the beat. Of course, the banks decide who will survive by who gets loans and who doesn’t. And banks are not granting loans only for expansion, another blow to the sector.

Now the government decided it is time for industry consolidation after it endorsed expansion for years. So they must force consolidation. Banks already limited expansion and now encourage mergers and acquisitions within the sector, large companies buying smaller operations.

There are growing cries for tarrifs on China. Let’s see what that brings; or if they materialize with the same hyper-addiction the industry enjoyed? US has stepped up tariffs and the EU is on the verge of adopting tougher measures. Other countries are considering that formula. So a monopolized market is finally getting squeezeed as others seek relief to China’s “dumping” around the world. And that reaction appears to be creating a problem for China.

High Gas Prices: an investigation

In-depth: The truth behind high pump prices

By Douglas J. Hagmann & Joe Hagmann

10 August 2012:
We’re seasoned investigators, so we have an inherent desire to dig for the truth. Experience and common sense has shown us that we should never rely on the “accepted” explanation for something when that explanation involves money or politics, and is repeated without challenge by the media. We don’t like liars and thieves, and will expose them whenever possible.

We wanted to get to the bottom of why we’re paying nearly $4.00 per gallon for gasoline at the pump. We wanted to know who or what is responsible for the current high price of gasoline? In addition to being a major economic burden for American families, it is also a national security issue, especially when our petrodollars are subsidizing Islamic terrorist activities.

The task to determine the truth was indeed a daunting one, not only because of the complexity of the issue but due to the facts being tightly wrapped inside various political and globalist agendas, “cooking the books” by using different reporting standards, and various other tangential issues. During our investigation, we even found two energy “analysts” using the same graph to arrive at opposite conclusions.

Nonetheless, we’ve conducted an extensive investigation in an effort to provide our readers with a concise and unbiased report that explains why we are suffering at the gasoline pumps. In the process, we’ve identified several significant lies that we are told to accept as the truth. [/…]

Read the whole report: http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/archives/6552

Its chilling that the explanations we keep hearing, repeatedly, do not touch the surface of it. And the sophistry in the blanket explanations do not cut it for many of us, they do not connect the dots. I thought it interesting how important the debasing of our currency has been, under the watchful eye of the fed, on oil and goods in general. But while many of us have been focusing our criticism domestically, isn’t it strange how no one wants to hear that? Yet we should just accept their specious reasons for high prices? This is only another part of the agenda of the powerful. But the powerful doesn’t mean the big evil oil companies. We had big oil companies when the prices were lower, by any comparison, so it is not unreasonable to look elsewhere.

And there are a lot of other explanations.

What should bother anyone is the way our tax dollars subsidize bio-fuels and alternatives while also paying the higher prices at the pump. Every time I see Obama or one of his cronies talking up their “energy policies” I want to scream, “would he ever want to tell us the truth about anything?” Only if it were aligned with his perpetual political agenda — which is basically one big lie anyway.

Another Solyndra shoe drops

Solyndra email: ‘POTUS involvement was Rahm’s idea’

Chicago mayor and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel repeatedly claimed he had no memory of the Obama administration’s controversial $535 million loan to failed solar company Solyndra, but White House emails released Thursday say it was Emanuel’s idea for the administration to tout the doomed firm.
