NYT Strike Creates Unequaled Opportunities

I’m about to break an exclusive. The New York Times is on strike and has apparently been scrambling behind the scenes to tweak their hiring policy, as the need for workers could be huge if the strike continues. No word on how long that could be. Enter plan B.

So as a news hound myself, I got a hold of a draft copy of a screening questionnaire they are planning on using — should the need occur to hire mass replacements.

Filling out the questionnaire appropriately will get you on the fast track for consideration. This is meant to sort of weed out the undesirables, if they try to breach NYT defenses. Being multiple choice the options are limited. Here is the satirical draft.

Please complete this revised questionnaire for consideration at NYT — the avowed paper of record.

James Lindsay Sneaks Back On Twitter Disguised As Pedophile Schoolteacher

Internet · Aug 6, 2022 · BabylonBee.com

“NEW YORK, NY — This week, cultural critic James Lindsay was suspended from Twitter for persistently criticizing teachers who sexualize small children. Though Twitter announced a permanent ban, Lindsay was able to sneak back on the platform by simply declaring himself an actual teacher who sexualizes small children.

“How do you do, fellow elementary sex-educators??” said Lindsay via his new Twitter persona, Jameson Lindergarten. “Gosh, I sure do love teaching children about my sexuality and helping them find their true pronouns!!”

The new bio from “Mr. Lindergarten” has already earned accolades from the pedophile community, with many applauding his remarkable courage. Initial comments included affirming Tweets from profiles with diverse handles like “@Gr00m_Th3_Kidz,” “@Twerk_4_Teach3r,” and “Don’t_Tell_Mom.”

Twitter is in the process of awarding Lindergarten verification and giving him 300,000 bot followers to help boost his following.

According to Twitter, the concerted effort to remove any criticism of child molesters is already beginning to pay dividends. “We are proud to report that we are already seeing a much more positive, affirming stance towards pedophilia on Twitter,” said spokesman Jim Rapier. “Still, we have to work to do. There are other bigots out there in the mold of James Lindsay who want to make child molesters feel bad. We will not rest until everyone feels safe to sexually indoctrinate young children.”

At publishing time, the Biden administration had announced “Mr. Lindergarten” would receive the “National Teacher of the Year” award, to be presented by Rachel Lavine.”

Shuck And Jive Tucker

I have held off for some time saying anything negative about Tucker. He does a great job on a lot of things. Yes, he is popular though that has less to do with it.

But I finally decided it was time. I watched how he dishes out criticism to everyone else. A lesson I learned over years has been a pretty good marker of ‘who is who’ is to  take note of what a critic does not criticize — not lust what he/she attacks.

And Tucker has certainly been a critic, politically and on media. So when he refrains from criticizing something, it is also important. Omission.

In this case, he has always been anti-war. I accept that…. or like who is for war? That postures many of his stands. I get it. But then in the face of a tyrant like Putin he has little to say personally about him. Is he somehow beyond criticism? What gives? Well, I don’t know his motives but I don’t like it.

I have always been an anti-Russia critic and always will. Particularly anti-Putin as well. But there are times when I gave a little credit for what he was doing as a leader in his country, verses how a leader acted in our country. But those are only his political positions. What is more important is what he does and how he uses/abuses power.

Now Putin is demonstrating for the world the evil he is capable of and willingly engaged in. No I don’t ignore that. And I won’t rationalize it or make comparisons to our government leaders. I don’t think that gets us anywhere. I can’t revert to US policy instead.

However, I don’t see the same boundaries on Tucker. If people are convicted about being anti-war, that is fine. But it does not make war go away. What Putin has done here is totally all of his doing. There is no way to blame it in any way on the US. (this is more convenient for some people)

But it sounds great in echo chambers, “look at me, I’m faulting our government or leaders for causing it.” It was caused by one man, who I prefer to think of as evil personified.

Wacky Media Theorizing

Time for some wacky media theory talk. 25 years ago Fox kicked off a news network that broke the mold of the news media business model. Against all the odds it worked.

Okay, it was an achievement and people liked it. The popularity even caused a hate from the left, which was weird because you would think liberals would like more news instead of less. It seemed to fire up their hate machine on all cylinders. Leftists couldn’t really hate on legacy media because they shared the same political views.

Now hate for Fox is standard fair.

But whenever you get something new, even if it is an offshoot of something else, sooner or later it too gets dated.

Then, after Fox News proved there could be viable alternatives, it led to others like OAN and Newsmax. Now there are a bunch of them. Oh, you could say they aren’t really mainstream yet. But Fox is because it now leads in ratings. Fox proved you could also succeed in being an alternative network – or beat them at their own game.

Now that that is done, what is new on the horizon? I already mentioned the other alternate news networks. They are gaining fast. And meanwhile less and less people really believe what mainstream legacy media is telling us. It’s a caricature.

What is the future? Well we have to look at what happened and say that eventually someone will come along to replace and further what Fox has done, it’s only natural. What would it be is yet unknown. But we do know people tire of things. After 25 years, they aren’t new anymore. But people will flock to try something new if given the chance.

We’ve seen this pattern in social media, too. Who remembers MySpace? It was all the rage when Obama first ran. Young people probably don’t even know about it, but it was young people then who drove the platform. They know Facebook though. Interesting how the negativity for Facebook has turned into a hatefest. Do you think they survive it?

Mark Zuckerberg has now given us the answer. Change the name. But the fascinating thing under the hood of public opinion is that the Facebook hate is across the spectrum now. It doesn’t matter if they are on the far left or right, or in the middle, everyone agrees on a disdain for Facebook. They certainly don’t trust it either.

So Zuckerberg seems to have a challenge, especially after trying to monopolize so many other social media platforms. His own mother ship brand is in the toilet. No one is more responsible for it than Mark Zuckerberg. Out with the old, in with the new. That time always comes, eventually. At some point, interest fades and/or something else replaces it. Facebook now just wants to remain relevant.

This presents sort of a pattern for the rest of media.

Legacy media is dug in though. There was a time when CNN was the new thing in the 90’s. It rode a popular wave for a while but the wheels came off and it crashed as a leading source. It is no more than an organ for the Democrat machine, credibility is shot. It had its time in the day though. They haven’t decided on changes there yet. But it cannot stand, as people don’t trust them.

No one trusts Facebook either but they didn’t have to. It was only a platform for people to use. Their paradigm has issues now and people refuse to participate in it. They aren’t spending time on it.

I’m saying the same thing will probably, inevitably, happen in the news business too. But it will have to be a different model than we see to be well received. We’re all jaded now; we’ve seen how it works, the good and the bad. We’ve seen where it leads. So it also becomes harder to build a new model with any integrity while there is so much venomous dislike for the old model.

One natural resource we still have in America is creativity. When you have something that people don’t like, there is a hunger for something different. Someone somewhere will find out what that is. It might take several attempts but something comes in the end.

Mark Zuckerberg had to know that day would come when it would be irrelevant, didn’t he? He should have. And he should have planned accordingly. All he managed to do is gobble up anything out there which might be a threat to his monopolistic existence. But Facebook was the business model for all else he hoarded.

That business model now has serious issues. It’s been undermined by people’s lack of trust in it. You can’t keep feeding people poison after they discovered it is poison. That demands deception. Heaping on more new poison is not the answer.

Next up, the jury is still deliberating on Twitter. Jack Dorsey may be despised, for a lot of reasons, but the hate has not spread to both ends of the spectrum yet. So far it is mostly from the right. The left still sees it as politically useful – and they let you know it. In fact, they swarm it like killer bees. It’s a vehicle for cancel culture. It’s useful to attack their political opponents. It’s a preferred platform for leftist hatred.

But that too has its shelf life. Whatever the next thing is, liberals will flock to it like wild boars, they always do. That also makes it harder to start up anything new when the liberals come in scorched earth to destroy anything in their way. That is another pattern we’ve seen over and over again over years. They also don’t develop new; they just want to destroy the old. They wait for others to start it and pounce.

Who knows what the next thing will be or what the future will be? But we do know the sequence of events. The left wants to control it, whatever it is. They want to control us as well as our ability to organize or participate. We can count on those factors.

Meanwhile, Trump announced a collaborative media project to create a new platform. Will it succeed? It will have the name brand and recognition to kick it off – something others only dream of. The left has helped by banning Trump on other media platforms. It created a need for them to go elsewhere. The left never realized it was us who created the attraction for social media platforms. Without that it was only homogenized liberal waste water – an elitist echo chamber, another organ of the Democrat machine.

Whatever is new lies ahead, But what is old will not be forgotten, nor are the lessons learned.

Zuckerberg is already gleaning for what is new that he can use to rehabilitate “Facebook”. He blew it on the new name right out of the gate, Meta. (logo is even worse) No one on the spectrum likes it. Most think it is sounds stupid. He managed to unify hatred of himself, something people would have thought hard to do.

I know, maybe he can use Joey to gain interest in his platform? Maybe he can use has-beens like Obama to help sell his new image? He can say, “hey, we are re-imagining Facebook.” That ought to work. Notice a pattern?

Operation: Information Shutdown

What a difference from the last administration. After the press obsession with news then, Joe Biden suddenly has the luxury of a complete absence of coverage on his administration. Sure, press briefings occur, which only serve to further blot out anything which could be regarded as real news.

Obviously, the orders are out that real questions on issues are not welcome unless they have the certain White House-friendly perspective necessary.

H/T: A fellow friend of this blog had a piece weeks ago with thorough disgust at what is depicted on news aggregate sites. So I took a look at one he mentioned. Indeed, it is stunning the conclusions you can draw just from a simple gleaning.

The big story in 2021 – with our vast social media, tech, and media—is the black out of news and information, creating a giant information black hole. Even if a story of import arises, it gets little to no attention. That is considered satisfactory for the mainstream press. Only news gets coverage that they want reported. Nothing else. Who decides?

They have willing media helpers to make sure nothing gets the attention it deserves unless it is granted permission. What a way to run a country? What a way to run a free press.

However, as he noted in his piece, there are still stories running on anything to do with Trump. But another notable change is that any kind of celeb news, and you know how serial and crazy that can be, seems to have replaced any real news of significance. Anything but real news. Joy Behar, Jennifer Lopez, and Lebron James are flaunted as news jocks.

It is as if the clock was turned back to the seventies and all the press were furloughed, or sent on mission not to cover the news – anything but.

The syndicate Left wants no information flow on what is the most radical administration in modern times acting in secrecy by the most nontransparent standards. Keep the public in the dark on everything. Meanwhile, radical thugs and rioters chant in the streets, “this is what democracy looks like.”

The Orlwellian newspeak of what they do tell us is reminiscent of Russia or China. If they do not want you to know, then you can bet there is a good reason.

What a glaring contrast from the last administration. In your face arrogance on steroids.

Eulogizing King

Now a word on King. Not MLK but Larry King. He died, since also having COVID, at 87. What a shame and what a career in talk and TV. Radio in the 50s and 1960’s. No, not that I should have anything to say about Larry King.

Personally, I was not a big Larry King fan. I never really cared for him as a host. That’s a whole other matter. But he had you or everyone because he got those big interviews. So anyone making news or on big events of the day, Larry had the players on. They needed him and vice versa. More like you just could not avoid the guy.

In that way, he influenced the conversation but also facilitated it. The good, the bad, the ugly, the pomp and ill advised. He got them all. The one rule was anyone in the news went to Larry King, usually first. And his interviews were worth watching. At least he asked the questions people wanted to know. He was a standard.

I don’t know how one gets to the point where the minute someone popped up as important or influential that they had to do Larry King as a consequence? Maybe I don’t quite understand it. But he had the draw. So if you were interested in anything, you had to watch (tolerate) the Larry King archive of interviews.

I don’t know of any other person with that kind of draw and influence in and on the news. And I cannot see it replicated anytime soon. He seemed like the Johnny Carson of the news. He was a first stop in anyone riding the circuit.

That said, like him or not, he was a media player. Anyway that is a little ode to Larry King. The unavoidable. RIP.

Institutional Chaos Usurps Elections

If you are not living under a rock or on a secluded island somewhere, then you have no doubt heard that Donald Trump has attacked and weakened our most valuable institutions in this country. Since we all care so deeply about them.

And no doubt you have heard it on a loop. It gets no response or push back in part because it sounds so awful. That is crazy talk but look no further than Democrats for destruction.

The people who have attacked and weakened our institutions are the Left and their droid Democrats. But you will never hear that reported anywhere. It is just not a story.

However, it did take Donald Trump to come along to frame and prove their narrative so wrong. It was Republicans who were first tagged with that blame banner, as if we were anti-institution or even anti-democracy. But Democrats took it to the stratosphere when it came to Trump and his reelection. Basically he is the blame for everything.

As usual, it was the left who has attacked our institutions and rule of law itself. They’ve branded border control the problem; they’ve attacked and called for defunding the police. They want to reimagine everything they don’t like – or everything not already politicized enough for their taste. Even energy, the economy or climate are targets.

And they have done a good job at that. They’ve weakened almost everything America values including education and our history, and even culture itself.. While sheer destruction of them is not their goal, they want institutional subservience to their political ideology.

Now no one can blame Trump for all that, or even conservatives. The left has done this with such passion; it was clearly their agenda for years.

But in 2020, they went the ultimate step in their evolutional demise of institutions. The one last thing that remained was our electoral process. Yes, they had attacked it for four years after Trump was elected. They were not only attacking us, the voters, but also undermining, politicizing and weaponizing the system itself. The cover they used is that they were worried about the integrity of the process, ie our trust in it.

Then they went full scorched earth by making all the changes and reforms they had schemed up before, but now had the chance to shove into place. True to radicalism, they didn’t care how they went about it as long as they got it all into place.

These plans themselves would do more to tear down the fabric around our elections than anything else. And as we now know, once you break the bond between the people and our electoral system, you have weakened democracy. The effect goes much further than that because they shredded people’s credibility in that system.

Like I said, they spent four years weakening the foundations. Now they have abolished the sacred trust between us and our elections. Once again, you cannot blame that on Trump which is exactly what they have in mind.

They are going to say it was Trump who kept attacking them by scaring people about “rigged” or “fixed elections.” No, he was only describing what they were doing, almost preemptively. Did he know the lengths they would go to in blowing up the system? I don’t know, but he certainly warned us loud and clear. And the left did not like him warning us. They didn’t want us to know or believe it.

The thing is our electoral system was just the last piece that they hadn’t quite altered enough for their political palate. They were not going to stop until they got the guaranteed results, read outcome, they wanted. A pandemic and Trump’s reelection offered them the opportunity they were waiting for. Trump was only an excuse for it, not the cause of it. This was their doing all the way.

Elections were merely the last, most important piece to complete their agenda. They had already shattered our credibility in things like the Justice Department, the FbI or IRS targeting conservatives. We found the Left had taken over everything in our government under the rubric of Deep State. And Americans lost confidence in all the institutions over years anyway; this was only the final straw. Media and press was already shot through.

But until now, we had at least expected our election system was basically in tact, even with all their shenanigans attacking it the last four years. Now they removed the façade that we could still trust our elections to operate above the proverbial Leftists fray.

Trump warned of the pending doom in the 2020 elections all through his campaign. Media mocked him saying he was attacking it. That clever game of blame they always play.

Now that we are handed the results of their non-stop plots for months, and see it for what they did, just like their other schemes for five years, we can validate in spades all the damage they have done. However, it does fit the pattern perfectly.

Fox’s Arizona Call

The call on election night to give Arizona to Biden was from Fox. It was a hasty call that didn’t make sense. But then it reminded me of something I saw a week ago. The article meant one thing then but possibly even more now.

A top exec at Fox News used to work with Biden and other Dems. He could be responsible for some change of attitudes at Fox. But then along came election night and suddenly, preemptively it seemed, Fox called Arizona for Biden when hundreds of thousands of votes were left to count. No real explanation was given. All MSM went right along with the play.

A move which, as time went by, no one seemed to understand. Take a look at this article from National File. June 29, 2020 (excerpt)

“Danny O’Brien, the executive vice president and head of government relations at Fox News’ parent company, is a former Joe Biden chief of staff who is reportedly actively helping the Biden campaign connect to Washington lobbyists.

Danny O’Brien started out with gigs at the Democratic National Committee, director of ethnic outreach for the Clinton White House, and on the Al Gore campaign. He served as Joe Biden’s chief of staff in the Senate from 2003 to 2006, then worked as political director for Biden’s 2008 presidential campaign.

After working for Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez and General Electric, he inexplicably became the executive vice president and head of government relations at Fox Corp in 2018. Fox Corp is the Murdoch entity that currently owns Fox News. Thus, the effective chief lobbyist for Fox News is a hardcore Biden guy. And he’s also not-so-discreetly helping the Biden campaign this election cycle.” (See more)

Satire On Self

This is a day, not unlike others, where I sought to sit down and write some inane nonsense in the hopes that some misguided soul would come along to read it, hopefully calling it imparted intelligence. A place where fiction influences reality and vice versa.

After a while one can seem to run out of zany ideas that you just have to settle for reality. Then, in a twist like a Rod Sterling plot, you realize the truth has been much more crazy than any ideas you racked your brain to dream up. Truth is the bomb. That is an uh-ha moment like no other. I have had exactly those reoccurring thoughts almost every day now for months. What does it portend for our future, for my future in particular?

For posterity’s sake, we can only hope there are some lessons to be learned from this sorted process. But ironically this reality, crazy at it is, seems to be void of lessons learned from past history or prior revelations. This presents a paradox.

So are the enterprising scriptwriters for Hollywood and film also seeing the same writing on the wall that leaves this writer feeling like a dinosaur? Here is a cultural exercise to try for a test: if a thought bubble were hovering over this day, what would it say? Dare you think further, and what image would be under it?

Here is just one example from a day in which reality appears to go feral. The truth came out putting a name and face to an anonymously written NYT column in 2018, which stood media and politicos at attention. The piece: “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” Miles Taylor turned out to be its writer, who was a staffer at Homeland Security. He left there and now has joined the CNN network of aggrieved and disgruntled government employees. He should fit right in.

Of course the kicker in the anonymity story was wondering who this insider was, or how close he really was to the president? The caustic cloud of speculation loomed over the administration for months. What did he know about daily decision-making that gave him such rich perspective on the administration? Or maybe not. And just like that, reality turned out to be crazier than the fiction it tries to emulate. But now it is too late because we have taken the bait and ran with it, as far and long as it could take us.

Still, it caused no less than 30 administration officials to deny authorship, something that apparently did not bother the astute conscience of the anonymous writer. Even Barack Obama suggested he was acting undemocratic. From a president who suffered no breaches in his administration, even while conducting a coup to undermine an incoming president.

The sheer beauty was that this person could have been any one of possibly top-tier members of the administration. And it capitalized on that beauty. Perks of anonymity. The media then parlayed that experience into a wider story across government. Protecting such anonymity became a lifeline to integrity in government, so the plot went.

Now, a man who was relatively unknown or insignificant used a cloak of anonymity to propel himself into a position of knowledge and trust, publicly. Though never knowing who he was, if he even existed – was it a he or she – left many people to question what it really said, if it was all true, about our current president and his administration?

Another irony is that he was a nobody before but only now more of a somebody. But the revealed somebody turns out to be less relevant than at least the NYT had implied.

Of course the real abject lesson for us here is to be careful what and how you trust what comes from the mainstream media organs these days. You never know where the truth starts or ends, or comes from. Yet there are times when they just reveal who they are. It did lay bare the notion that some are/were working inside the administration, covertly in their minds anyway, to either save the administration or sabotage it from being successful. However they justified it. Who says all anonymity is working for the good?

In this case, anonymity seemed to be the forbidden fruit from which all this supposed truth and honesty would flow. It turned out to be only another deception. An intermittent pause in the search for identity and perception.

The Bottom Of The Empty Barrel

There is a point you will never here on lamestream media. It’s actually profound but I am not going to give it away in a few words. Please read the whole context rationale for it. Pity a thousand words were necessary but could easily have been three.

We know the George Floyd case and I don’t need to repeat all the details. Yes, again, horrible and shouldn’t have happened. I’m outraged.

And that supposedly set the latest sequence of events in motion. You know the arguments, police brutality, structural and systemic racism. They’ve assembled endless marches. It would be interesting to know who is doing all the organizing and funding. But never mind that. We have a bigger issue at hand.

Now we are told that practically everything we do is racist, or race-based. They say we have to deal with that; so they get people apologizing for something they didn’t even do to try to appease race hustlers. However, I hate to tell the kneeling do-gooders, it isn’t going to help you or them. That will not solve anything in the end, if they don’t want it solved.

It is just placating them.

Here is example one: if someone who is white has a child today, no matter how you raise him/her, in 18 years or so they will be considered privileged and blamed for being part of the systemic white racism prevalent in this country from its inception.

How’s that for a charge? And nothing you can do will change what he/she is: a white, privileged part of the long problem. I mean how do you explain or prove you are not? That’s the point, it doesn’t matter. And you can be branded as racist even if you do nothing racist. Okay, put that aside now. Though it’s probably an inevitability on this course.

Now we look at reforms they claim are needed. There is naturally police reforms since that seems to be their biggest priority. Blame cops and change all these procedures. You know those, I am not going to list them here. They are not crucial to the point.

The Left and the protestors already told us the problem is systemic racism, so pervasive that it is oozing out of every institution or economic sector in this country – everywhere. And a police reform is going to fix all that? No. But then they will tell you all the other changes we need to make to correct it, starting with us getting on our knees to apologize.

I get a little upset how all the onus and phony questions are always aimed at us. It’s a gotcha game that, even if you participate, you are designed to lose every time. If you play it their way by their rules, that is. They don’t tell you that even if you make all these changes and reforms that guess what? It will still be called systemic racism and you will still be a witting or unwitting participant in it. Because that is the only possible outcome.

Maybe that is a little bit hard and they may give you credit for all these changes while you made them. But it will not be enough in the end because the game doesn’t stop there. Nice try but we will have more work to do. (not that we aren’t now making strides) That’s why kids born today or tomorrow will be blamed in 20 years for being accomplices to all past and present problems and grievances. Yes, there will be another generation of leftists around to make sure that generation are held responsible for it, too. It is perpetual.

Leftists’ love for country is inherently contingent on them getting what they want.

Notice all along it is they who run the show and narrative on all this? No coincidence. You cannot have anything to say because there is nothing you can say. The whole thing continues on and never goes away. I don’t have to explain that. And they will be sure to keep it all alive. But the why is important though.

Example number 2: suppose I buy a house that needs a lot of repairs. The question is why would I go to all the trouble of making extensive plans for it, if I already decided I am gong to level it and build something else in its place? I wouldn’t, it would seem pointless if that were my real plan and I already decided.

What I am saying is that these people, predominately the leftists and Democrats with the go-along dupes, have already decided what they want. These reforms or changes aren’t it. They really want a brand new system, new country and Constitution. The old one is not in the cards, in fact, it isn’t in the game at all.

So we are only appeasing them on the highway to utopia, in their minds, while privately debating over a new foundation layout. But they will never be happy because they want a whole new system. Actually, they want this one to be so flawed they have to change it. That is at the heart of most problems. They tell us.

The other thing they want, in the meantime, is to use the perceived flaws and problems for political gain to increase power. Election fodder. Crises are “opportunities,” they all tell us. Pelosi boasted that she only sees all these crises as opportunities. So that is what all this is about in the end – political power.

Now that we established those basics, there is just one thing left. No wonder they aren’t happy and will not be satisfied? Since they are always posing gotcha questions to us, I have a very important one to ask the Democrat Left. It is the holy grail of questions.

What will it take for them to be proud of America? Would there be any reforms possible to make them proud of America? Oh sure, they are capable of some short-term pride when they are in the White House or control everything. Even that is temporal and condition based. The Left only have pride in an agenda.

Actually the only thing they have pride in are politics. That political pride remains. Quite literally it puts politics above the country. They aren’t capable of being proud of the country – systemic racism or not. They have no attachment, emotional or otherwise, to it. They dropped that long ago. Their agenda is a new country, a new society. The whole idea is not to have any pride in this one.

So there is the bottom line question to it all: Will they ever be proud of America…. and what would that take, if even possible? No reforms can spawn that.

This is the question for the Democrats, socialist left and all the rest. I’m sticking to it.

As much as they’ll always pledge to get to the bottom of it, we must never and can never get to the bottom of an empty barrel.

You’ve probably heard that pride usually comes before the fall. But in this case, it is a lack of pride that spells the cause for the country’s fall.

Journalism under attack by Coronavirus

Or is it? …The lamestream manstream media is rolling out a brand new narrative Monday that “journalism is under attack by Coronavirus,” by MSNBC’s own Andrew Lack.

Headline: “Journalism is under attack from coronavirus and the White House. But we’re winning.”

“President Trump came into office railing against many of the foundation of our democratic institutions, including a free press.”

In his supposed defense of journalism, he says Trump has not landed a glove on serious, honest journalism (well, then they trashed their own credibility ratings) and claiming that “the heart of journalism has never been stronger.” It gets worse.

[journalists are] “not looking to win any popularity contests – just doing what Woodward and Bernstein inspired my generation and the generations that followed to always do: seek the best obtainable version of the truth.”

Despite the poor writing skill, can you imagine he has the chutzpah to put out that revision? First, no, it is all about popularity contests. He admitted as much in the subtitle claiming “we are winning.” How about best (or worst) version of the narrative?

Secondly, he could have picked better examples but he went for all-stars Woodward and Bernstein, who managed to fame themselves with no shame from the beginning. And if they are your idols, Andy, you have been great students of their goals. In fact, it is now all about who can transfer the latest words into ammunition to weaponize in this political — not journalistic – warfare. Or who can get the most twitter attention or go viral over their political attack. So yeah, they’ve made Woodward and Bernstein(a regular celebrity guest hack on CNN) look like pikers. Jim Acosta turned WH briefings into a resistance sideshow to wax his own ego. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika are on a planet of their own.

Lack goes on to say:

“Reporters have been on this story from the start, tracking the spread of the Coronavirus without fear or favor, faithfully doing their jobs even – and especially – in this perilous time. Every day, with every story, they try to find what is most relevant to the public and relentlessly work to uncover the essence of what it means.”

What all is wrong with that? Everything. He paints them as selfless heroes of some sort. They missed this story and others from the beginning because they were enveloped in propagating the impeachment conspiracy hoax. Just the way they intentionally ignored and smeared the biggest story of our time, about an elaborate coup and coverup 3 years in the making. Oh fearless without favor? Give me a break.

Then, when they did start reporting on it, after mocking the idea it was something to worry about, they collectively went after Trump as the only story while people were dying.
Find what is most relevant to the people? I imagine a pandemic and what it is would be more relevant to people than arguing about Trump closing off travel from China. But then the press mouthpiece NYT told people whatever it is blame it all on the Trump Virus.

Faithfully? You have got to be kidding. About the only thing they remain faithful to is ideology and the resistance because they disagreed with the results of the 2016 election.

Actually, the only thing on par with these presscapades is Democrats’ addiction to play partisan political politics with a pandemic, by holding people and businesses hostage to their own radical agenda. No holds barred… politics trumps even a pandemic.

By the way, you try your damndest(yes, as an institution) not to serve people but control what they think and see. You intentionally ignored the biggest government abuse scandal in US history in the coup. And you replaced it with a political narrative of woven misinformation to deflect from and cover it up. You care what Joe public wants to know?

“At this dark hour, Americans are scared. They’re hungry for accurate information and the unvarnished truth. Now, and in all the days to come, journalists will be there.” — [read article here]

They are fairly angry with what the institution of press has become. No wonder the trust and credibility deficit in media. “Unvarnashed truth” was sacrificed on the altar of politics.

In the end, I don’t know what case he was making that journalism was under attack by Coronavirus, except to once again paint press as victims. Meanwhile, the administration has weathered a coup and now fights a pandemic; so yeah, I’m pretty sure journalism should be able to cover a nasty pandemic. They covered up a coup with no conscience.

Ticking Virus Problem

In the last few weeks, we watched as self-isolation became a thing, the stock market sank to a bear market, stores and businesses shut down, streets were emptied. All of which were based on a pandemic from China killing people and wrecking the economy.

Now media runs to remote microphones to sensationalize every symptom created by it and to forecast gloom and doom jobless claims and recession. The good old fear-mongering left has lots of ammunition. From bailouts to healthcare, to hoarding on main street.

But what would you expect? You shut down most of the economy and there will be problems. I compare it to turning off a light switch and then complaining it is dark.

We cannot compare it to a regular recession or typical unemployment woes. Yet the media is all over it as if they were one and the same. They are trying hard to fit this crisis into that same box. Statistics cry for context.

Never mind that when you turn the light switch back on it will not be darkness anymore. The problem with the left and this crisis is that they cannot plug in their usual talking points and factoids to color the situation. But that doesn’t stop them from trying. When you turn off part of the economy, there are consequences. We know that.

Beneath it all it is still a biological problem. You know how liberals deal with biological problems; they abort them.

But this one needs to run its course and be defeated, not celebrated as a political weapon to attack Trump. Think of the consequences avoided by taking the actions we did.

Even the root problem in all this is not really COVID –19, it is Democrats still grieving over their loss in 2016. And the cure to that problem is to defeat them again. It must be done for survival sake.

Some Like It Hard

After years of accusing Trump of being an authoritarian dictator, media and the left now demand he enact martial law. They want unilateral action and they want it now.

Another consideration for your consumption, instead of media talking points: Trump signs the Defense Production Act and then they scream but he has not used it yet. Prove it if you have or else “why not?”

And they ask so if he now has the capability, having enacted the power. then where are the tens of millions of masks and supplies? These people don’t know anything about physical production. Merely enacting a power does not make things magically appear at will.

I will say seeing Trump effectively close the borders does put a big smile on my face.

“Lives are at stake,” they say, thousands of lives. People that proudly aborted over 60 million lives suddenly have an immediate obsession with saving lives. Sure, they are the compassionate ones.

Right Ring | Bullright

Scuttle Coronavirus & Passing Gas

I could have written a longer piece explaining my thoughts about Coronavirus but honestly, who really cares? In fact, no one cares what media says about COVID-19 either. And you can’t blame them.

But there are two emerging problems: a biological problem and the economical one; the former caused the latter. Yet there is still a confidence crisis as well.

So what is there left to say? Everyone knows the story.

But there is something to say about young people carelessly worshiping the sun on crowded beaches as the rest of us hunker down.

We went from talking about socialism at the beginning of the year to taking about social distancing in 6 weeks. The only thing the left cared about on their radar was impeaching Trump – and politics in general.

So is it any surprise that they and their media comrades would play politics with a deadly virus? If even that could not break their psychosis of hating Trump, then it tells you all you need to know about the political left. They have no shame or conscience.

Now I see the glaring similarity between the sunbathing beach-combers and the media. The eat, drink and be merry youth don’t care. (middle finger on a T-shirt) The media reveals the only thing they are capable of is shameless gotcha politics, in reality denial.

But both have forgotten, or plain don’t give a flying shit, that the rest of the country is making countless sacrifices to help save others and stop a pandemic.

Why should we take either of them seriously anymore?

Meanwhile, the minute Trump doesn’t take the pandemic seriously, even for a second, it is treasonous. That is headline material.

Culture Caldron

Every so often one has to reflect and do a little culture check, the crazier things get.

Leave it to Trump, in one statement, to frame the entire issue in a campaign speech.

From a Des Moines, IA rally, Trump said something like “we are living in the greatest years now in history…. and I just got impeached. Can you believe it?” He got laughs and cheers. They got it.

Think about that analogy a minute. So finally, the economy is really on the upswing, opportunities and wages are up. There are a lot of good things happening.

At the very same time, you look what is happening around you and you can’t help wondering what has gone wrong? I mean the crazy things happening with the anger toward Trump and his supporters. People are desperate to take him down.

Government is running amuck in the Swamp fighting back. Deep state is in a fever pitch.

Yet there are plenty of good things on the horizon, life is good compared to the last ten years. Or it should be. What is with all the mixed signals aimed at us?

On one hand, things are finally improving that we’ve only hoped for over the years. But it is all dampened by this cultural turmoil over everything.

Then we’re told the world only has a few years left. Is it down to the countdown yet? Everything is rotten if you listen to these triggered, crazed people. So the secular world is telling us we are on the verge of apocalypse. Now that is rich, coming from that crowd.

Any joy you should feel is bombarded daily by this message of doom and gloom from Democrats and media. There is so much pent up hostility in them that you wonder if they are living in the same world you are, and seeing the same things?

It’s kind of like Trump, who wins the election only to have them try everything to throw him out. But he won’t go and neither will we. Why should we have to?

What’s wrong with this picture? It is a real dichotomy.

On one hand, there should be plenty to be happy about but the last thing they all want you to be is happy. They really try to make that a challenge.

It seems like Democrats’ job is to make mud pies out of all the good things or destroy them. And they have their hands full trying on that mission.

Here are you and I with everyone else, sitting smack in the middle of this whirlwind of discontent. Plus many of these dissatisfied people believe socialism is a panacea that will take all their worries away. Crazy.

If they can believe in some socialist utopia, then they need help. (not the kind they want)

They just seem to want to bring everyone else down to their misery. It looks like we are the ones who have to live and deal with it because it doesn’t seem to matter to them.

So in a crazy way, Trump is right. Life is great, they want to impeach him and throw him out. Ha ha, as if that would fix any of their problems!

Media Vultures

In the good old days, Johny Carson might make a joke in his monologue something like “the media is so bad”. To which Ed McMahon would say “how bad is it, Johnny?” Carson would nail it saying “it’s so bad that ….” But those days are gone and so are most of the jokes. Now it’s sort of pathetic that media is the standing joke. But no one is laughing.

In those days the media might have taken a cue from the national criticism. Not today. Judging by their current reaction to criticism, they cannot be shamed or even insulted. However, they feel so offended that Trump called them the enemy of the people.

As the IG report on Comey came out, media took a pass for the most part. CNN didn’t really mention it. MSNBC looked for anything else to talk about, including the Dick Cheney hunting mishap. What happened was the IG was compelled to put out an 80 page report on what Comey did.

Last week, CNN foisted the bombshell canard about an asset in the Kremlin that had to be whisked out because Trump was about to out him. Except it didn’t happen. Well that storyline got dropped real quick. What asset, what story?

That story was probably meant to detract from the not so convenient news about the left’s coup and the investigation of it. Sure, no one needs to bother with that.

Then we have the big story about another Kavanaugh accusation. The witness does not remember the incident. NYT was forced to back peddle and said they inadvertently left that part of it out of the story. They had to delete tweets and edit it. The author of the column threw NYT under the buss for having the policy of not naming witnesses.

So naturally that part got left out because of their policy. Say what? You mean NYT cannot mention a witness doesn’t remember anything without naming her?

While over at CNN, they discussed the non-story. Paul Begala let it be known that Democrats will never stop on the Kavanaugh issue. He said they are going to keep it alive forever. It will never ever die. So truth or reality means nothing to those folks.

NYT committed another intentional error when it said in Tweeting a piece on 9-11 that 18 years ago planes took aim at the Twin Towers in NY. They went further than ILhan Omar saying said that the planes did it. Omar at least grumbled that some people did something — without saying who or what. See how the left works? Then NYT had to delete and edit that storyline, too. But it did fit with media ignoring the 9-11 commemoration.

This is not news. The lamestream media are in the narrative business. It isn’t news at all.

Some people did do something, all right. Well, it was not rogue keyboards conspiring.

Open Letter To The Mainstream Media

I write in sympathy to your current predicament. I know you have an extreme lack of credibility and standing with the public. Or maybe you are still in denial? You offend them and they offend you. I know it upsets you.

I feel your pain; but I cannot validate it.

The problem is that it is not Trump’s fault. That must be hard for you to accept, too. Yet it is the truth. Just repeat the words: “our credibility deficit is not Trump’s fault.”

It was not Trump’s fault that before the 2016 election you jumped on the Hillary bandwagon, with no reservations. You were doing her bidding well before the primaries.

When the election did come, by then you had set the perception that she was the winner by all standards and could not lose. Trump had nothing to do with your willful bias. He was not whispering in your ear to give favorable treatment to Hillary, forcing you to do her cleanup and dirty work.

He did not tell you to make things up about him and his supporters just like you all did about Tea Parties. He didn’t choose all your negative coverage of himself and positive coverage for Hillary. That was not in his power or within his influence to do.

He didn’t make you into card-carrying members of the resistance. He didn’t tell you to brand his supporters as racists, bigots, or even domestic terrorists. But you implied they were dumb, uneducated grievance hustlers who were generations out of step with the times. (talk about projection)

We came to the party only to take our part. You came to blacklist us. Sure, you couldn’t quite get the job done, but you expected it to take a toll. To some degree it did. Though you couldn’t defeat or destroy us. After all, you had been trying more subtly to do that for years. But we were not going away. In fact, we were the original resistance. So you fully embraced the banner of resistance after the election. Trump did not make you do that. He only pointed it out. You demurred any criticism because that is the kind of people you are.

We don’t matter. When you ran the daily 24/7 hate Trump media for his first two years, hyping the resistance movement and impeachment, you dug in your heels of sedition. With every leak and anonymous source you could muster, you blazed an historical trail, aligning yourselves with a coup well under way from the first day of Trump’s presidency.

Yes, I can sympathize with your pain and agony of it all. Well, I can because we have felt that prejudice against us from the public for decades. Your part in that campaign against us has not gone unrecognized. We are well aware of it and your attitude against we the people. We know how you feel about the people and flyover country.

We know how you despise the people’s mindset… and their choice.

So when Donald Trump said some members of the mainstream media – not all — were enemies of the people, he was right. We already knew that. You just confirmed it. When you were offended by that comment, it was not our fault. You did it. When you tried to spin yourselves into victims of that remark, it fell on deaf ears because we have always been the real victims of your schemes.

We get to vote, and were determined to vote regardless what you thought of us. See, you get to cast your vote everyday, as the elitists you are. You want to control dialogue and you couldn’t. The conversation went on around you, even factoring in your heavy hand at the ballot. But you could not control the discussion or the election results. So I can really identify with how you must feel. We’ve felt that way for years and you never cared.

Yes, we all know exactly what it is like to be outcast by the public as troublemakers and crazies. But we were not looking to validate our victimhood. We didn’t have to. It is prima facie in any honest assessment. Along comes media now claiming to be the righteous victims of slander, smear or character assassination to vindicate their cause. It is dishonest. It is self-serving, it is agenda driven and, finally, it is very political.

Now you have laid the record bare for all to see. Only you want your trashed credibility back on a golden platter. That’s just not how any of this works.

Worse than all that, you have also lost credibility with the Left, your handlers and allies. You promised and built up their hopes that you would assist in taking down this president.

When the Mueller report came out and didn’t declare the collusion you promised, your radical base of consumers recoiled. Their hearts and trust were broken. So you have lost on both sides, with your enemies and your allies. Hurts, doesn’t it?

That should have taught you something. But it was your stubborn choices you made every step of the way that are to blame, not Trump. We didn’t destroy your credibility. You did that yourself. We only supplied the means. Remember reporters demanding apologies from Trump? By the way, did you ever apologize for the way you treated the Tea Parties? No, it’s all part of the long record now. It lives on to prove to anyone honestly looking.

You are the victims of your own bias and hatred. Thursday will only validate what we all knew. It will expose you for the liars you were all along. But Trump didn’t do it to you.

It might be time to take some stock and dust off that first amendment to see what is really in it. There is more there than your beloved freedom. And last I checked, you weren’t.

Did Hillary let the cat out of the bag?

In an interview Friday with Recode’s Kara Swisher, Hillary was asked if she wanted to run for president again.

Astonishingly, the answer was no, no.

But then she added that she would “like to be president”.

Well, she doesn’t want to run for president but she very much wants to be president.

Far as I know, the only way she could be president is by running for president.
So she has a problem.

I think she has a bad case of Oval Office Fever.

News, email, and this and that

Has Twitter suddenly made email obsolete? You might think so. If you think that the public form of twitter is a substitute for private email, then you don’t understand technology, culture or the dynamic of it all.

It seems the trend is on using Twitter. But until recently it was so limited by character count that it would render it worthless for serious communications. Yet that is probably what some people would like about it, being limited.

But of course it could be an excuse to eliminate email which some people do not want to bother with anymore. I’d like to add that Twitter never will be a replacement for email. And email has not gone the way of the dinosaurs, yet. Too bad if people don’t like to use it or read them. It’s so old fashioned since the social media explosion. Poof, you don’t need email.

Isn’t it interesting that the major news or media centers all prefer everyone use Twitter as a contact method? But these and other businesses are also the same ones who like to use email for news letters and updates — for your convenience of course. But if you want to get in touch with them, they want it on Twitter.

What’s up with the contradiction, Fox and all the rest?

BTW: Fox will be launching its Fox Nation project later in the year. They want you to sign up on the email list for updates. It will be a new subscription service for their viewers. Oh dandy, another avenue of access to their content from most of the same people. But it is subscription-based.

“Fox Nation reveal: Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson among stars on streaming platform ….Content you love, voices that matter.”

Now if your voice mattered to them at all, why scrub the email option?

Okay, if they really have a new product, why don’t they complete that newness by having some new faces? One of the headliner newbies showcased is Tomi Lahren. How new is she and what expertise does she bring? Born in 1992, maybe that’s what they mean.

I sort of thought having a new format they should have some regular folks. I don’t know, like everyday conservatives or viewers of their content over the years. People that have an opinion and view. There are plenty out there. I see people all over the internet and social media who would add spark to an otherwise recycled format. Fresher than Lahren.

While I think of it, I also remember when Town Hall was rolling out its new model that would shake the earth to its core. It was all hype. Indeed, that was about having a forum of conservative, like minded people writing their own stuff and their collective friends it would bring, along with other news centered content.

Well, it lasted a while and morphed into what you see as Town Hall today. (some here remember those days) Why is it that it is always the everyday normal people that are the problem? No, we need mouthpieces like famous spouters of conservative opinion to tell us what really matters. Sure we do watch because there is nothing else to watch.

“Tweet me, text me, hit me on Instagram,” they say, “or find me on FaceBook.” What if I don’t want to? I just want to email you. Well, it has become a problem. Right about now I am starting to feel like Andy Rooney. Oh, few people would remember who he was.

Maybe I am finally just old or old fashioned?

Still, if you listen now, you can hear the same undercurrent of criticism about Twitter among those same on air personalities starting all over again. ‘The scourge of contacts and feedback.’ The same things you used to hear about bothersome emails.

Someone else doesn’t like or appreciate getting our emails. Congress. Funny that liberals never seem to have that problem. They shout into an elevator and voilà, instant reaction.

Serving News for Fools Daily

Serving up the news of the day, dishonesty is the media and journalists’ modus operandi. Dishonesty is their specialty, they work very hard at it. Increasingly fooling no one.

Remember when it was always common perception that media-journalists were just looking for the truth and want to report it, no matter on which side the axe falls? No more, their purpose is deception. It’s their objective.

See how they work in concert with progressive politicians and other allies, in unison?

And when they find someone who is a problem for them and their political narrative, or political allies, then ‘by any means’ becomes their mission theme.

In reality, the MSM don’t really value their readers much — you know, the one’s they claim they “are doing all this for?” They might do it for their diehard progressive groupies that also spread it, who don’t really care about the truth anyway. Not for us.

Two great current examples are, the story I just mentioned on Steve Emerson, the terrorism expert; the other is the Russian collusion narrative they just can’t let go. Because it is central to their mission. Regardless of their reasons to deceive the public viewers or readers, and drive their political narrative, people have not accepted it at face value.

Hard as they try to ruin Emerson’s reputation as a expert terrorism analyst people know where the real lies, bias and hate are coming from. Where they have been coming from the last eight years under Obama.

Now there is hard evidence mounting that the people also know the truth about the Russia collusion narrative. A new Gallup poll shows how the people feel about the narrative being foisted on them from MSM and the Democrat echo chamber, hour by miserable hour.

“A lot of Americans have kind of dismissed the idea that [Trump] colluded to the extent that he did something illegal,” summarized Gallup editor-in-chief Frank Newport during an interview with The Hill.

The numbers back him up. A poll released last week showed that a relatively small percentage of people — 29 percent — think that Trump illegally teamed up with Russia to influence the presidential election. [CT]

If inquiring minds want to know, anything, then MSM wants to force feed them what it wants people to know – or believe they know. Now deception is business as usual.

It is all clear by looking at that poll. But the jig is up, I don’t think anyone can really deny it anymore, unless they are one of the proud card carrying disinformation believers and truth deniers. Not that they just don’t want to know the truth, they just plain don’t care. The leftists believe what they want. Damn the truth or evidence to the contrary. They can’t be bothered with that, the narrative is too important to be shattered by anything.

Here’s another served up on a hotbed of lies, media reports Trump is happy about victims of Hurricane Florence. Imagine? That one is reverberating in media the way you would expect a great lie to do. They love a fictional story, especially on Trump. Who sticks around for the truth? No one reads corrections. Sensational headlines are never retracted.

For a bonus, even Ruth Bader Ginsburg is sick of Democrats’ grandstanding on Kavanaugh hearings, admitting the circus has gone too far. You know the saying when you’ve lost RBG, you’ve lost the country. No, I say that. LOL Dems are burning their bridges.
