2020 In The Rearview

In the last week of the year, I thought it would be good to do a post on 2020 but I couldn’t do it. That is above my grade. It would take a 750 page tome just to outline the events of this year in any detail.

2020 was an indictment on our culture, the establishment, the Left. It was a complete assault on values and western society. I’ll take a pass on that. In fact, the cottage industry in 2021 will be books about what happened in 2020, and not just about the election. But it will probably inspire some books, too.

So what to do about 2020 but give it a big old middle finger? Maybe a Bronx cheer salute from sea to shining sea. A giant sigh.

Assembling those thoughts on it, my instinctive reaction was to get on my knees and plead for it to be over, never happen again, that we recover and learn what we need to to do that.

Above all, pray that it be over. Finished. Then the taps would be in order rather than playing “Auld Lang Syne”. That song literally means “for the sake of old times.” 2020 was a blitzkrieg on the old times. Here are the lyrics:

“Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
On old long syne.”

It doesn’t quite work. Maybe those words are an appropriate tribute in any other year except this one. The taps with no lyrics serves it much better.

What did we learn; what were the important events; where are the benefits; or what was the overall theme? Too soon? There are days still left. Did anyone get mad at a year?

If cancel culture had any legitimacy or backbone, it would cancel 2020. But no, it tried to use the events of the year to cancel other things or people. Think of them all: from heroes to founders, to everyday Americans, to America itself, to news stories and corruption, to a great president. Cancel culture was literally screaming through a pandemic.

The only thing they didn’t try canceling was China, the place that spawned the pandemic.

And politics were in full display, oh were they. We found some events or situations that even politics, politicization of events or weaponization had no answer for. But they tried.

Finish 2020 off by 2 Senate runoffs in Georgia — which could determine the majority in the US Senate — by radical, commie, Marxist candidates. What could go wrong with that?

Is there no mercy left?

As bad as the year has been, whistling past the graveyard would do us no justice. We must make sure this year does not contaminate others. We must vow to repair the damage, not to continue it.

The strange thing is I get a sick feeling the Democrat left is not as disgusted by the year as the rest of us are. After all, in crises they see opportunities. The greater the crisis, the more people hurt, the greater the opportunity. It’s their motto.

Still one thought does remain about all those who did not see the end of the year, maybe for different reasons. Hundreds of thousands, like nursing home residents, did not make it through. Not even receiving a proper farewell. Enough said.

Play the taps. (Yet it will be remembered, in infamy)

Grinch Pelosi Hates The People

Well, if you had a bad year just remember to thank Nancy Pelosi.

She started it with her crazy impeachment agenda.

She tried to usurp the Senate for her impeachment scheme.

She ripped up President Trump’s SOTUS.

Gets her hair done while salons were shutdown to the public. Claimed they set her up.

She stuffed her $25K designer freezer with gourmet ice cream for 6 months, while holding Americans hostage to her radical political agenda.

Then she claims she is feeding the hungry, not exploiting them for political gain.

She got her radical new voting rules installed.

She called Trump and Republicans enemies of the country.

She admitted she held up COVID aid relief in a political extortion plot for the election.

Now at the end of the year, she used the people for a Christmas tree to push all her radical spending plans.

You can’t even get coal for Christmas because Democrats have it on their cancel list.

Stars Of Hypocrisy

It would be easy to just say that 2020 is the year of hypocrisy but that is too easy. It was worse than that because various sources of that hypocrisy make it so much worse.

DNC, political leaders, FBI, intelligence, former presidents and deep state hacks, the DOJ and our very justice system, press and media. Among them were courts, judges, mayors, journalists/reporters, governors, members of congress and media. A plethora of hypocrites completed a tragic, reoccurring picture all across America — from sea to shining sea, from one border to the other. Nothing nor anywhere was off limits.

Yet it might all be only a sign of the times and just the way it is. But these hypocrites did not care that they were being hypocritical. It was expected.

One man stood at the center. But supposedly only he could be blamed for everything. There was no accountability anywhere else. Blame Trump was the anthem echoed.

It started off with a phony impeachment and then progressed to the worst election in modern history. Then no accountability for any of it. Accountability was in retirement.

A pandemic, brewed up in 2019, came from China but no one was allowed to blame China. We should blame Europe, said Governor Cuomo. Misappropriation of blame only added to the hypocrisy. We found these fearless hypocrites could be accountable for nothing, while all claiming to be acting responsibly.

All the crises were merely political opportunities. A rational person would seek solutions to problems. But Democrats search for any benefits they can harvest from problems, or however they can take advantage of a crisis. “Who needs solutions when there are benefits to be had?” Get you some. Extortion, blackmail, treason and abuse of power became tools of the trade, a skill set learned from years in “public service.”

What sick minds operate in that way? The worst.

If these dire circumstances result in Democrats gaining more political power, and benefit their agenda, then it would all be worth it. Nancy Pelosi said as much in December when she declared to the press that this was not a mistake, “well, we have a new president.”

Pelosi’s doctrine: so we have given you a great crisis but look what we got out of it.

Nursing homes filled with dead victims while the governor was writing a memoir on his leadership skills. The phony impeachment led to discovering what Biden’s family had done around the globe, which no one had looked at and everyone roundly denied over a year.

Failed leadership was the talking point while lies from radical politicians surrounded us. Democrats blamed Trump and Republicans for what they themselves were guilty of doing.

So their consensus was ‘we needed a leadership change’ by ramming through the old, failed leadership of the past eight years, who caused most of the problems.

Violence and riots erupted everywhere in the name of some social justice. Anti-peace rallies were in vogue. But all that was ignored by press, media and Democrats for political gain; so it was sanctified instead. They blamed the problems they created on the president. So that is why they needed to oust him. Weird? Worth rigging an election over.

By year’s end, the Dems’ sanctimonious nom de plume of Resistance evolved into charges of “sedition” against the Right. Forget the four years of sedition, treason and coup that brought them here. These stars only aligned this year for one thing, to celebrate hypocrisy.

I Beg Your Pardon

Wouldn’t it be amazing if all these snakes in the Circus of Corruption came back around to asking for a pardon from Trump? Wouldn’t that be special? It would be ironic.

Imagine Comey and McCabe making the case for a pardon?

In fact, that is probably what Democrats would have planned if they won the White House. It would be Pardongate. They could issue them like candy.

All the people who took part in the coup and sedition would be on a list. Democrats could add it to their campaign platform. The convention would not be complete without turning them into heroes.

Of course if they did win, their first order of business would be going after the Trump administration and everyone connected to it. No doubt about that.

I guess that is our choice in 2020, to continue Democrats’ abortion of justice or not.

Waste No Time 2020

All the chatter has already shifted to the 2020 campaign. That didn’t take long. A Rolodex of names are being floated out of Dems just dreaming to be president. It would be easier to say who is not running. About every Democrat is running.

But before the 2020 race is a thing, could we at least get one thing straight? Pundits and media mention names like Biden, Sherod Brown and some others as “moderates.”

Moderate what? Moderate socialists? Now socialism is an endearing term to Dems .

Quit playing games. Can we all agree there is no such thing as moderate Democrats anymore? Democrats are all progressives now and there are no moderate progressives. Maybe Dems will try to invent them – for the sake of a ruse to confuse some people.

Moderate Dems on the national stage have been extinct since at least 2000. Even before that there were only a few. And those few lived out a dormant existence.

There is no such thing as moderates in the pool of progressives. There may be various levels of progressives at a given time but moderate is not one of them. Can we finally stop pretending they exist? Dems know it and so should we. It is exemplified in pro-life.

Look no further than abortion to see how far they’ve come in a short period. To show this contrast just look at the issue of life. Or in DFLA, Democrats For Life of America.

In 2003 “John Zogby found that 43% of Democrats “agreed with the statement that abortion ‘destroys a human life and is manslaughter.”” Now they have a litmus test that you cannot thrive and survive in the Democrat Party by being pro-life.

That is one of the best indicators of the state of Democats. But you could go issue after issue, to the latest Democrat primaries, only to find that on issue after issue they are progressives with a strong socialistic bent. It is the Marxist consolidation of America. There are many reasons for this homogenized statist affection, with organizing being one of the chief facilitators. Commie organizers are us, now led by Obama.

And in the last decade it has gotten worse. Remember the pro-life guy who pushed for changes in the Affordable Care Act? Bart Stupak is not even a footnote in most places.

(Vice News)“The Democratic Party has never been very welcoming to pro-life Democrats,” said former Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, the Democrat who led the charge against the Affordable Care Act over abortion restrictions in 2009. “They’re even less warm now, and the relationship has gone south.”

South? Even Stupak understates the real dichotomy. There is no room for pro-life Democrats at the Party table the way there was no room for Mary, Joseph and Jesus in the Inn. We need to stop entertaining all these fantastical hallucinations otherwise.

People must stop pretending there are moderates among national Democrats. The DNC must be laughing their asses off at that whopper. Christians should quit facilitating the notion, too. (but then that’s another big problem) I don’t like the pretend game.

Saint Elizabeth Warren, I presume!

When Does the Media Love Christianity?

By: BillOReilly.com Staff | September 8, 2017

You probably know the answer to the above question. The media praises Christianity only when the Christian in question is a left-wing politician.

What brings this up is a long and nauseating piece in the Boston Globe which essentially beatified Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.

“Elizabeth Warren’s Christian faith is deep and authentic,” gushed reporter Victoria McGrane, “and it informs her work as a senator.” How does McGrane or anyone else know whether anyone’s faith is “authentic?”

We were also assured that Senator Warren is never without her Bible, “a well-worn King James version she has had since the fourth grade.”

Can you imagine the Boston Globe or its former owner, the New York Times, writing that kind of puffery about a Republican? Mike Huckabee, for example, is an ordained Southern Baptist minister, but most of the swells at the Globe surely despise the man.

This drill is all very familiar and predictable: Religion as practiced by Jesse Jackson, Hillary Clinton, Al Sharpton, and their fellow travelers on the left is uplifting and honorable. Religion as practiced by Ted Cruz, Robert Jeffress, and Sarah Palin is worthy of nothing but ridicule. …/

Of course O’Reilly is spot on. I would just add that if she is devout, then it is in practicing at Bernie Sanders’ Tabernacle of Revolution. Why would they choose her sect over — or in place of — Bernie’s in 2020? They’ve already seen the fruits of his. Or maybe Bernie can be high priest and Elizabeth can be the high priestess on a ticket?

Media’s promotion of her faux Christian credentials would “require the willing suspension of disbelief” by the congregants. It’s serving the church of politics. That’s what they do.

Remember how media built up Obama’s Christian cred or how they promoted Hillary’s devout, deeply-rooted Christian beliefs? Planned Parenthood didn’t buy it. That’s what they do — hoping to divide Christians in preparation for slaughter at the ballot box.

However, immediately after election media and the candidates go back to sneering and mocking Christians and Christianity. But that is the very thing we were warned about.

Though in both Obama’s and Hillary’s case, their mentors were theologians of Marx. A dead giveaway. Yet the media got away with selling it as ‘pure as the driven wool.’

Obama studied under Rev Wright’s Liberation (Marxist) Theology, etc. Hillary’s youth minister sent her down the path of socialist activism. Warren brandishes a King James version while claiming to be a nasty, nasty woman of the occupy movement. Money changers anyone? All swear to a blood pact on the altar of abortion. Christian leaders?

So why not? These days progressives, or whatever they want to call themselves, operate more like a religious cult. It is no wonder the Left would apply many of their policies as, and with, the piety of a religious sect now.
