McCain back….to same old

Lavish on, for the first 5 minutes McCain lectured and praised the institution of the Senate. Lecturing on cooperation within the Senate and trusting each other again, he languished on about “serving the people who elected us,” into attacking outer-chamber voices:

“Stop listening to the bombastic loudmouths on the radio, and television and the internet. To hell with them! [applause] They don’t want anything done for the public good. Our incapacity is their livelihood. Let’s trust each other… return to regular order.”

The hack is back …with his invincible straw man.

So he is back to criticizing those outside voices and those who try to hold Congress and the Senate accountable. Yes, the problem is those outside voices. Sorry, we are worried about the inside voices who do the real damage. That America is fed up with the kind of shit-sandwiches your body is trying to serve up, should be a clue how we feel about it. You are not interested in the will of the people. No, you are an elitist who only uses the words “servants of a great nation” as cover for your real agenda of arrogance. Arrogance that has no limits to wall off the will of the people. Any different than Hillary’s “Deplorables”?

After all, what are elites there for but to do what the people oppose — the corrupt comradery we resent — by scheming against us in every major action. Especially when they team up against us. But that is the bipartisanship McCain stands for. He’s back to branding us Agents of Intolerance. His only real fight is with any outsider opposing him.

So they want to shut us up or shut us down. Marginalize us. There is the resistance and then the resistance within, like John McCain. But if anyone is the opposition it is him.

At a later point, he said we Americans “don’t hide behind walls, we breach them.” A clear attack on Trump and the Americans who want to secure our border. Don’t lecture us about walls. We care about our nation’s security. Stop warring with the will of the people.

Did Obamacare come with seatbelts?

Some people may hope so, as the ride gets really bumpy.

NYT does not offer already-disgruntled Obamacare patrons victims a life preserver.

“As you can see on our map of those counties, an Anthem departure could leave coverage gaps in substantial parts of Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, Ohio and Colorado, as well as smaller holes in other states. In places where no insurance company offers plans, there will be no way for Obamacare customers to use subsidies to buy health plans.

Without an option for affordable coverage, they would become exempt from the health law’s mandate to obtain coverage. A result could be large increases in the number of Americans without health insurance.”

So far, no carrier has come forward publicly to say it will serve the counties in Tennessee that Humana is leaving.

Obamacare is already in critical condition. Yet all we hear from MSM in response to alternatives or repeal plans is “but people will lose their healthcare.” Really? It’s hard to mandate something that is not affordable or available.

ObamaCare enrollment pitch

Here’s a stunning revelation from the Obama administration. Attention G-Mart shoppers!

In a country with 325 million people, the word most is a big number.
I guess you get those subsidies while paying your subsidues.
I’ll try hashtag get smothered by big-gov now.

Access denied: cancer care on chopping block

Nation’s elite cancer hospitals off-limits under Obamacare

By Associated Press – March 19, 2014 | NY Post

WASHINGTON — Cancer patients relieved that they can get insurance coverage because of the new health care law may be disappointed to learn that some of the nation’s best cancer hospitals are off-limits.

An Associated Press survey found examples coast to coast. Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is excluded by five out of eight insurers in Washington state’s insurance exchange. MD Anderson Cancer Center says it’s in less than half of the plans in the Houston area. Memorial Sloan-Kettering is included by two of nine insurers in New York City and has out-of-network agreements with two more.

Doctors and administrators say they’re concerned. So are some state insurance regulators.

“This is a marked deterioration of access to the premier cancer centers for people who are signing up for these plans,”  said Dan Mendelson, CEO market research firm Avalere Health.

It is getting very interesting, as those three thousand pages start to speak.

Danger ahead for Dems

POLITICO poll shows mounting danger for Dems

By ALEXANDER BURNS | 5/19/14 | Politico

President Barack Obama’s job approval slump and voters’ entrenched wariness of his health care law are dogging Democrats ahead of the 2014 midterm elections, and Republicans have captured a lead in the areas home to the year’s most competitive races, according to a new POLITICO poll.

In the congressional districts and states where the 2014 elections will actually be decided, likely voters said they would prefer to vote for a Republican over a Democrat by 7 points, 41 percent to 34 percent. A quarter of voters said they were unsure of their preference.

Among these critical voters, Obama’s job approval is a perilous 40 percent, and nearly half say they favor outright repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Sixty percent say they believe the debate over the law is not over, compared with 39 percent who echo the president’s position and say the ACA debate has effectively concluded.

Both Obama’s job approval and the partisan ballot matchup are markedly more negative for Democrats in this poll than other national surveys — a reflection of the political reality that the midterm campaign is being fought on turf that is more challenging for Democrats than the nation as a whole.

But none of those issues comes close to approaching health care as a major concern for midterm voters. Nearly nine in 10 respondents said that the health care law would be important to determining their vote, including 49 percent who said it would be very important.

By comparison, only 28 percent said that immigration reform was “very important” to determining their vote, and 16 percent who said the same of male-female income disparity.

“Forward” seems to be reverse for Dems.

If elections were held today: 41% versus 34% would vote for Republicans. Even of the 25% who didn’t know which they’d vote for, 21% vs. 16% leaned in favor of Republicans.

And whatever Harry Reid is doing must be working. 😀 Or as Lost in Space said:

From Outer Limits to Unlimited Arrogance

From talking about “outer limits” of executive power — or exploration of — to limitless arrogance. This one just might have topped his lie of the year.

Obama to OFA Volunteers: You Are Doing ‘God’s Work’
Free Beacon:

President Obama told Organizing for Action volunteers their efforts to combat conservatives and enroll people in Obamacare is “God’s work” Tuesday at an OFA event in Washington, D.C.

The arrogance meter is officially shattered.

Pelosi sends out signal flares, “Stay Tuned”

Fox: At a White House forum on Thursday, Rep. Nancy Pelosi suggested that President Obama will offer a proposal today on what the administration will do to accommodate Americans whose existing policies have been impacted by the Affordable Care Act. (Fox News)

Stay tuned … and just see what — it could be an administrative fix, it could be a legislative fix. I would rather it be done administratively because that can be done much more quickly without any accompanying agendas,” she said.

Naturally, Nancy prefers an “administrative fix”. She loves that executive power. Funny how during the ballyhooed “shutdown” they saw no need for changes, delays, or fixes of any sort. They were full speed ahead, icebergs be damned.

Actually, a delay would have been the biggest life preserver to Obama and his cohorts. Never mind that. Now Nan has everyone sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for some sort of “fix”.

Did someone inform her that the word fix is used when something is broken? “Stay tuned for the fix”… but I thought the fix was already in. I guess this is what happens when they have to pass something before we know what’s in it.

But the law is doing just what it was supposed to do, according to design and intent. So what she’s looking for is a political fix. (and you Demonoids thought it was about healthcare…yea, right)

President Broke-Back is sorry he got burned on bungled roll out

Well, no, it is not exactly what he said….but it’s what he meant. We’re always told after what he really meant instead of what he said. So I just cut to the chase.

All along we’ve been told that what he said is not exactly what he meant, like when millions lose their medical coverage, and his minions run out to say what the president actually meant.

He did say “I was burned” on the website. He had to correct himself to say we all got burned. But the Freudian slip popped out that everything is always about him. Like the phony fainters at the rallies always happens to him.

And now comes Obama’s apology to all those people losing their healthcare coverage, which is just as meaningful as everything else he has said – including his five-year-old promise. Of course, it’s as close to an apology as President Broke-Back will ever come. It is not his fault it must fall short. He cannot possibly take full responsibility, really, and apologize. That cannot happen. The faux apology:

“I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me,” he told NBC News in an exclusive interview at the White House.

“We’ve got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this.”

You are sorry people are “finding themselves” screwed based on something you said? But no, it did not happen to them just based on what you said, it happened based on your plan. Since you are not changing that, the disingenuous apology is worthless because the offense still stands – doing what it has done. Convince people that you hear them?

In fact, we all said there would be these problems all along. But you stepped up your campaign to punctuate the lie that if people liked their plan they could keep their plan. You had your comrades repeat that lie promise across the country and guarantee people would not lose a plan they wanted to keep. It was a propaganda campaign.

When questions were raised about your plan and consequences, the media cut criticism short by repeating your promise that if people liked their plan they would not lose their plan. Questioning that would be calling you a liar. Joe Wilson proved that is taboo.

You made everyone complicit in your lie, even media. It was a great system. Arguments could be shot down with a single line, saving your administration the trouble of repeating the lies. Just repeat: “Obama said “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan.”” It was guaranteed — insuring not that promise but the sale of your plan. People took the bait to the bank and the ballot box.

—-&—-

If anyone wondered how incompetent and backwards Obama is, exhibit A:

Mr. Obama promised at a fundraiser on Monday that the site “would get fixed,” but then there needs to be a discussion “about federal procurement when it comes to IT.”

Shouldn’t that procurement discussion have happened before not after this? Not in Obama’s world. The record of the CGI can not even be called spotty, but it matches Obama’s record. Hey, maybe “procurement” problems caused the site problems?
Wa Times reported:

Whatever the reason for giving CGI this contract, it was not based on a successful record of maintaining sensitive personal information for a government.

Even worse than the financial loss for Canadians, the computer system has had repeated privacy breaches.

So maybe the contractor and their record are consistent with Obama, and just what Dr O ordered? Another thing he can claim he was out of the loop on, and be fully responsible for but not in this lifetime. If anyone could make this company look stellar in comparison, it’s Obama. But how about that apology? It all depends on the definition of apology.

Now sorry seems to be the hardest word.

Many unsure on buying insurance in Obamacare

Two-Thirds of Uninsured Not Sure They’ll Buy Insurance Under Obamacare

Monday, 03 Jun 2013 06:12 PM

By Greg Richter

Two-thirds of Americans currently without health insurance are uncertain they’ll buy insurance under Obamacare once it is fully implemented in 2014.

And if they don’t, the Affordable Care Act could face trouble, CNBC reports. There are penalties for not purchasing health insurance under the law that takes effect Jan. 1, but in the first year, those penalties are much smaller than the cheapest health coverage plans.

If too few people who are currently uninsured sign up it could raise costs for everyone else, said Laura Adams of InsuranceQuotes.com, which commissioned the poll.

In the survey conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International, 64 percent of the uninsured say they have not made up their minds whether they will buy health insurance by the Jan. 1, 2014 deadline. Ten percent say they definitely will not buy insurance, opting to pay the fine instead. Only 19 percent told pollsters they intended to comply with the law and buy health insurance.

“Many people are taking a wait-and-see attitude,” said Amy Bach, executive director of the insurance consumer advocacy group United Policyholders. “People are still in the dark about what their options are going to be — and they’re skeptical that the penalty for not buying insurance is going to be enforced, at least in the first couple of years.”

In Obamacare’s first year, the fine is $95 per adult or one percent of income, whichever is highest. The penalty is half the adult amount for children under 18.

The penalty goes up every year, landing at $695 or 2.5 percent of household income in 2016.

Fewer than half of those surveyed believe they’ll get better health care under Obamacare. Almost half think it will be harder to get tests and procedures performed in a timely matter.

Although the law allows for tax credits to help pay for insurance coverage for those with low incomes, 68 percent believe they won’t qualify.

H/T to Dave for article

Gee, I wonder why…

So half the people have no confidence in timely treatment. Just great.

Considering 42% of people don’t know it was enacted much less anything about it. That will probably only get higher as soon as it goes into effect, and they do know. And the additional paperwork is bound to make an impression.

Dem Max Baucus called it a “train wreck coming”. I think its already here.

Obama: “I think that any time you’re implementing something big, there is going to be people who are nervous and anxious about is it going to get done until it’s actually done.”

But 42% of the people don’t even know it is passed…or done! And a majority of Americans do not like it. That’s not nervous.

Abc reported:

[Obama] went on to say those who would have trouble with implementation were the roughly 48 million Americans who are uninsured to begin with, a minority of the population.

Oh, that 48 million he claimed this was for and that it fixes that problem. What crap.

HHS today released new applications for individuals and adults looking to get health insurance. Officials cut the forms down from 21 pages to seven pages for a family and three pages for an individual.

The applications ask nothing about medical history, beyond whether the applicant or a family member is pregnant and whether they have a condition that “causes limitations in activities … like bathing, dressing [and] daily chores.”

Instead, they resemble tax forms, inquiring about income, Social Security numbers and employment history. They also ask for contact information and race-ethnicity.

The application for families says members of the family who do not require health coverage do not have to list immigration status or Social Security numbers.

President Obama touted the new forms as one of the “refinements” his administration has made with respect to the Affordable Care Act in recent months.

“The challenge is that, you know, setting up a market-based system, basically an online marketplace where you can go on and sign up and figure out what kind of insurance you can afford and figuring out how to get the subsidies, that’s still a big complicated piece of business,” Obama told reporters at a news briefing the morning the new application was released.

Even Obama describes it as “a big complicated piece of business“….no, it’s all more like a big complicated piece of BS, from inception to reality.
