Timely Questions

Question of the day. A while back, this single-digit reader base would remember I promised to regularly probe some of the deepest questions of our time.

Well, I have one.

A 3-letter news channel interviewed Democrat candidate Michael Bennet. They were talking about Medicare for All, and eliminating private insurance, which he doesn’t seem to support. Bennet claimed Democrats don’t like it that much. They said but Bernie and Elizabeth Warren are getting lots of support. “How do you explain that?” He said ‘well, maybe Democrats are supporting them for other reasons.’ But Bernie is so popular.

So he claims they are supporting them for different reasons. Then he adds that Bernie is one of the most popular politicians in the country, and Elizabeth Warren has a star-celeb status among Dems, too. Naturally they are going to get loads of support, he says. He also asserted that “Medicare for All” schemes were not really plans but an entire ideology.

Now then, let’s reverse engineer that idea. I am old enough to remember when Bernie was a pariah of the Democrat Party. They distanced themselves from him like the plague, at least publicly. He was persona non grata as a member, let alone a credible presidential candidate. He wanted to annex part of New England into Canada for Pete’s sake. Even his incessant utterance of the word “socialism” was repulsive then to much of the Left.

They really did not want much to do with his craziness. Well, times have changed. One thing Democrats don’t count on is for people to have long memories. Bernie is now the most popular and notable Leftist among Democrats. He popularized the term Democratic Socialist and successfully applied it to most of the base. Times do change.

The real question is how did he go from that old Bernie Sanders the crazy, to the new Bernie the trendiest politician? Yet he really did not change his ideas or beliefs. But there is the Left worshiping at his feet. So if anything new is happening on the Left, it has to go through Bernie first. How did he take over the Democrat Party and their base?

It cannot be argued that he is a radical. Democrats in general are radicals. But Bernie is the Pied Piper of Socialism, until someone knocks him off that socialist pedestal. It is his movement. From pariah to proprietor. He’s the gatekeeper to new and cool ideas. I don’t claim to understand it nor can I explain it.

Yet, like the great pyramids or the Sphinx, there he is in full regalia. An anomaly of our times. What of Bennet? He is now the outlier. He was as lost to explain Bernie’s popularity as the Sphinx. The good news for other radical socialists is they don’t have to go through a transition, they can get elected as instant socialist heroes now just like the squad.

Only somehow those are questions the 3-letter news channel cares nothing about probing.

Bernie the Hale-Bopp reject

Meet the guy the Hale-Bopp comet left behind….

Sure Bernie, just listen to his sales pitch.

The Heaven’s Gate cult — now there was a case study for “human solidarity.”

But they had nothing on old Bern. Bernie’s Gate anyone?

Lunatic Mainstream Living Large

I can’t choose but if I had to pick the theme song for the left, it would definitely be “Lunatic Fringe.” Well, until now. It was the perfect reminder of what Democrats are.

There is a potential in any theme to outlive its utility. So now even that one is a problem. They have moved past that point to mainstream lunacy. Now if you aren’t loony they marginalize you. Evolution is complete, messy as it is.

And there is no more fringe, you see. The crazies are not only in charge but everyone is crazy now — so who is left to complain? Crickets.

We all knew the day would come when lunatics would run the whole show. There could still be an occasional sideshow of moderation but now even that is being abolished. Dems don’t want any sane voices on the left to be heard at all anymore. The crazier the better.

When Claire McCaskill was running her last election trying to say she was not one of those Crazy Democrats, she lost. The joke was on her. They are really all crazy Democrats. But they are okay about it. Actually, they worked so hard to get there. (lyrics)

Lunatic fringe
I know you’re out there
You’re in hiding
And you hold your meetings
I can hear you coming
I know what you’re after
We’re wise to you this time (wise to you this time)
We won’t let you kill the laughter

They aren’t the fringe anymore. And we are getting past the laughter phase.

If the policies were not crazy enough already, the Pied Piper of socialism just announced that convicts in prisons should vote. Now this was just crazy enough that it made me realize the point is to mention this crazy stuff so rational people would make reasoned arguments about why that is not such a good idea. And they’d be right. But the crazies aren’t listening at all. They want it because it is crazy and so are they.

You can’t rationalize with that — without going into the crazy anyway.

But you won’t get too far
‘Cause you’ve got to blame someone
For your own confusion

Their daily deluge of euphoric crack has the effect that we can only talk about one crazy thing at a time. Well, like convicts voting. In areas with a large prison population, does that mean they can vote for the sheriff and the District Attorney? Let them pick judges too. Exactly, it also dilutes citizens’ votes and disenfranchises them. What an ironic, surreal proposal. Yet we will be forced to point out how absurd it is.

What’s even worse was right after Pied-Piper Bernie announced it, some of the other major candidates jumped aboard. Kamala Harris says it is a conversation we need to have. No, some things don’t even deserve a conversation, yet here we are. Dumb is just dumb.

So when is Bernie campaigning in Leavenworth because I want to see that? How do you pander to cell block C? Does everyone want to have their vote watered down by a convict behind bars, doing life for a murder or killing a cop? That’s the justice Bernie has in mind.

These ideas are so bad, and crazy, that you can really only take one absurdity at a time.

Remember his theme: our fundamental political and economic transformation. Makes you wonder how crazy his economic policies could be, you know, under the guise of “justice”? That’s the problem, they are selling all this craziness to us as justice.

We’re on guard this time (on guard this time)
Against your final solution

When they go to Crazy Red it is a challenge. But the time we can dismiss it as that has passed. If given the chance and power, all this and more become possibilities for them. No longer can we say “that can never happen.” They are crazy enough for that and more.

We all know you’re out there
Can you feel the resistance?

The resistance is to sanity. It might not be our “democracy” that really needs saving.

Update: inmates have voting rights in Vermont and Maine. And were never lost.

Democrat Dream Candidates

Identity politics has had a head-on collision with reality. It’s too early to know the full outcome yet. It seems the investigation is still underway. Results will take time.

Democrats have long played the identity politics game and 2016 was a perfect case. But a strange twist is happening they probably had not anticipated. And it might just affect the 2020 election and not in a positive way.

You know the rules and the way it works. Democrats only see identity when they pander to voters. Elections are the whole purpose, The group rules, individuals are just fuel.

So it has all worked in their political strategy the way they wanted it to. But the campaign is already heating up to decide which person. (at least I think they are all people) They have two old guys in the top slots for starters. That is Bernie an Biden leading the pack.

But both these guys are old and white, right? Well that doesn’t play well. There is no identity gimmick to that. The voices of dissent are already rising from their mob. They say it does not represent a preferred identity. They see room for one of the other identities.

S0 it got me thinking. Democrats also have that other identity game going. Actually, it represents more of a problem. They pandered to LGBTQs, gays or any of the others.

However, the trans community has also been playing identity politics. They developed a new thing I will call sexual choice. According to theory a person has the right to claim how he/she identifies, as a personal preference, which must be respected by everyone. Example: Bob decides he identifies as a woman and his new name is now Judy. It is all biology irrelevant so no matter what he claims is his/her accepted identity.

And how one identifies decides everything. No questions.

Now you have these two old white guys — not to forget Warren and Gillibrand. What could two old white guys need to do to spice up their identities? Maybe they could try the new identifies game. I mean it is all about preference, right?

Well, maybe Bernie could identify as a young male rapper? How about a young biracial male rapper? He does have a hand gesture going for him. Why not? What is preventing Joe from identifying as a Latino? Whatever they are comfortable with goes. (for as long as they are) And no one should be able to question their choice of identity, right? Joe might go with the female version to align it with restroom preference.

And that is the way this whole race could go now, using the left’s preference rules. Actually, under that standard they could even change identities again if they wanted. It is whatever works for them. Who could argue? Maybe the first gender-neutral candidate?

See how opportunistic this all can be? Why can we see a problem there but Democrat dumbos cannot, or will not admit to it anyway? That is where we are headed.

Looks like liberals have taken the 60’s sexual, counterculture revolution and kicked it up a few notches. Now everyone must play according to their preferences. It’s identity limbo.

The Case Against Medicare-for-all

Here is the reality of the single-payer as it is called, national healthcare plan for all. Or socialized medicine as we say. Welcome to the nightmare.

New York Post — By Betsy McCaughey — October 16, 2018

Sen. Bernie Sanders says that because Medicare is “the most popular, successful and cost-effective health insurance in the country” everyone should have it, regardless of age.

But watch out for the bait and switch. Truth is, Sanders’ Medicare for All legislation actually abolishes Medicare and Medicare Advantage, as well as employer-provided coverage, union plans and plans people buy for themselves. Every person will be forced into a mandatory, government-run system with the phony name “Medicare for All.” Whether you want it or not. The quality of your medical care will plummet.

Medicare for All will plunge hospitals into financial distress, exposing patients to dangerous medical shortages and forcing pay cuts on health care workers. New York hospitals and their workforce will get clobbered the worst.

But 16 Democratic senators, including New York’s Kirsten Gillibrand, and 123 Democrats in the House endorse the legislation. Have they actually read it?

President Trump warns that Sanders is “eliminating Medicare as a program for seniors.” He cautions that “hospitals would be put out of business,” patients will face “long wait lines” and seniors will “effectively be denied” care they need.

Sanders calls Trump a liar. Fortunately there’s a way to determine who’s telling the truth. The answer is in the 96 pages of Sanders’ bill. Here’s what it says.

Four years after Medicare for All begins, all private insurance will be banned (Sec. 107), and Medicare and other government health programs will be terminated, just as Trump said. Everyone, including illegal immigrants, will be enrolled in the new government program (Sec. 106). Newborns will be automatically enrolled at birth (Sec. 105).

On paper, the new program guarantees hospital care, doctors’ visits, even dental, vision and long-term care, all paid for by Uncle Sam. Here’s the hitch: Hospitals will be forced to operate under conditions of extreme scarcity, with too little revenue and more patients than ever.

Right now, Medicare shortchanges hospitals, paying them less than the full cost of caring for seniors. But hospitals accept the low payments, because they can shift the unmet costs to younger patients who have private insurance that pays more.

But in the new scheme, hospitals will be paid at Medicare rates for all their patients, not just seniors (Sec. 611). With everyone on Medicare for All, no cost-shifting will be possible. The rates will be 40 percent less than what hospitals could get from private insurance plans. The severe short-changing will throw hospitals into crisis. Meanwhile, demand for care will surge, because it’s free to all comers.

Hospitals will have to jam more beds into rooms and corridors, skimp on nursing care and make patients wait. Sounds like the austerity in the British National Health Service, only in Britain, the public has an escape hatch. They’re allowed to buy private coverage. Not under Sanders’ Medicare for All (Sec. 107). Those alternatives are banned. You’ll be trapped.

The gold-plated union health plan or Medicare Advantage Plan you used to have will be a distant memory, as you wait in crowded clinics alongside people who never paid into Medicare or earned on-the-job coverage.

In New York, the austerity will be magnified. Hospitals here have more debt and slimmer operating margins than elsewhere, making them less able to withstand cuts. Gary Fitzgerald of the Iroquois Healthcare Alliance warns that Sanders’ bill would “devastate upstate hospitals.”

Doctors will also be paid 30 percent less than private insurance would pay them. To keep their doors open, they’ll have to see more patients per hour. That’s bad news for seniors, who take up more time. Doctors will avoid them like the plague.

The Sanders bill is a labor fiasco in the making. A staggering 1.2 million New Yorkers work in health care, more than in retail or manufacturing or any other industry. When hospitals are paid less, health care workers will see layoffs and pay cuts, too.

Bottom line: Under Medicare for all, patients will suffer, seniors will be shunned, hospitals will fail and health care workers will lose. Who exactly is supposed to benefit, except the politicians?

Well, Democrats do a great job of hiding the truth, don’t they? Of course they don’t want you to know what it really is or what it really does.

Dems politicized the nations entire healthcare in 2010 on a party-line vote. Yet it was only phase one. This is the second phase of the final solution.

Then they want people to have to go to the polls and vote for their personal healthcare in every election. Politicians are in bed between you and your healthcare.

This illogical nightmare while they extend it out to illegal immigrants. No one is supposed to know, or care, about the consequences. Just keep going back to vote for the hacks.

Who are the real beneficiaries of this?
