Gun control not going to the dogs

Obama, in view of getting a new dog, takes position on breed-specific legislation.

We don’t support breed-specific legislation — research shows that bans on certain types of dogs are largely ineffective and often a waste of public resources…As an alternative to breed-specific policies, the CDC recommends a community-based approach to prevent dog bites. And ultimately, we think that’s a much more promising way to build stronger communities of pets and pet owners.”

Try to apply that logic to gun control legislation for “community-based ideas for better methods of improving public safety”. The resources could be better spent with community-based safety approaches and education, rather than through ineffective, inefficient legislation. Banning worked so well.

Ah, no that wouldn’t enter his mind. But in this instance, he seems to see logic in that approach. Pit Bulls are safe from the long arm of federal control, but not your guns. Maybe Pit Bulls will be safe from the black market.
