Stop the Tragedy: Rein in Disaster… before It’s too late

See something say something. Be vigilant, don’t let our guard down.

Words, just words? ..(satire…)

I decided to take a stand. Something has to be done. We have a serious problem in this country and it is only getting worse. If I’m accused of politicizing tragedy, I don’t care. Too soon? Too bad! It is urgent. We can’t wait. This isn’t about gun control, it’s about survival.

Can we now see that when anti-American, racist hacks become armed with unilateral executive power and a pen that really bad things can and DO happen? It’s almost a given and we see ugly results of it unfold time and again. It is a recipe for disaster.

I’m tired of going from one horrific, tragic abuse of power to the next and people asking “couldn’t anything be done to stop it? Shouldn’t we have seen it coming?” Something needs to be done to stop this cycle of abuse. We need to do much more to prevent this from happening over and over. We can do better.

This notion I hear all the time that somehow allowing more of these irresponsible, reckless race pimps, ideologues and hacks more access to that weaponry of power, instead of less, is dumb. It is a phony talking point… and it’s dangerous. We all should agree on that!

I have to admit I, too, once turned a blind eye to this risk. I rationalized that these things probably wouldn’t happen and they would not effect me or my community. Well, those hopes have been shattered along with the hopes of so many others. We believed we were safe. But we bought into the lies.

We have to decide, at some point, if this is the kind of country we want to live in. The background checks have not worked nor been able to prevent this access to the weaponry of power, tragically. It’s time we ask if this dangerous executive power should be accessible? Who needs that kind of power anyway?

It might be time to finally consider removing that powerful weaponry from the hands of those not suited to have it in the first place. And maybe it is time to confiscate this dangerous weaponry before it is further abused or falls into the wrong hands. Some things are far too dangerous for anyone to own or have at their fingertips. We just cannot afford to take that chance anymore. We’ve seen the damage this weaponry of power can do.

That’s right, I’m not afraid to use the “C” word, it’s time for confiscation. We’ve tried everything else and it hasn’t worked. We cannot trust anyone with the means to wreak so much damage on so many people, especially race hacks with sinister intentions. We must remove that weaponry from those who would do us harm.

These legislative loopholes have allowed this abuse to continue and less regulation is not the answer either. These policies are setting us back decades. In fact, we used to have tighter restraints on this weaponry of power, but we have these big organizations out there with lots of money, pushing their own agenda to Congress. Make no mistake, they are powerful and their agenda is dangerous to every man, woman and child in this country.

We must decide if this is the kind of country we want to live in, where these acts — or the threat of them — are “daily fare”? I do not want my family or grandchildren to live in that kind of country, under that threat. They don’t deserve that, nor do we.

We must be stronger than these threats and interests.I don’t want to examine another case in the rear view mirror and say “could have, would have.”

Obama’s year-end presser

There is much more to the nuance of Obama’s speech but it basically was book-ended by two paragraphs, at the beginning and at the end.

“Meanwhile, around the world, America is leading. We’re leading the coalition to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL — a coalition that includes Arab partners. We’re leading the international community to check Russian aggression in Ukraine. We are leading the global fight to combat Ebola in West Africa, and we are preventing an outbreak from taking place here at home. We’re leading efforts to address climate change, including last month’s joint announcement with China that’s already jumpstarting new progress in other countries. We’re writing a new chapter in our leadership here in the Americas by turning a new page on our relationship with the Cuban people.“

America is leading? It would have to be in spite of Obama not because of him.

Remember that saying I used: “if it happens in politics, you can bet it was planned that way.” Notice a hint of this philosophy in Obama’s remarks:

“In terms of my own job, I’m energized, I’m excited about the prospects for the next couple of years, and I’m certainly not going to be stopping for a minute in the effort to make life better for ordinary Americans. Because, thanks to their efforts, we really do have a new foundation that’s been laid. We are better positioned than we have been in a very long time. A new future is ready to be written. We’ve set the stage for this American moment. And I’m going to spend every minute of my last two years making sure that we seize it.”

That saying is believed to be a maligned loose paraphrase of FDR. (Liberal academics say FDR never said those words.) I don’t really care, but here are some words from FDR’s speech in October 1935 (6 years after ’29):

“I am glad, in coming back here … to find a very definite evidence of what I found in my trip across the continent… there was general admission that this country was coming back. You could see it with your own eyes.

Yes, we are on our way back— not just by pure chance, my friends, not just by a turn of the wheel, of the cycle. We are coming back more soundly than ever before because we are planning it that way. Don’t let anybody tell you differently.”

I almost laugh at reading FDR’s words then Obama’s speech. So we see Obama trying to lay the foundation, not for America’s interests but for his own legacy.

There was another vain reference to his self-relevance in his prepared closing remarks.

“My presidency is entering the fourth quarter; interesting stuff happens in the fourth quarter. And I’m looking forward to it. But going into the fourth quarter, you usually get a timeout. I’m now looking forward to a quiet timeout — Christmas with my family. “

Depends what you mean by interesting. If you mean a flurry of executive orders because you cannot dictate to Congress, then “interesting” probably is not quite the word I was thinking of. “Interesting stuff”…or more planned catastrophe to come.

Had Bush said that, those words “interesting stuff” would be in headlines of every paper. America (and history) should be so lucky to get a time-out from Obama.

In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.

Unibama strikes again

To rewrite his legacy and the election results. The year-end finale.

There’s a saying: “If it happens in politics, you can bet it was planned that way.”*

That’s the scenario in Obama’s end of year presser before dashing off on his coveted vacation in Havana er Hawaii.

People can say it was for various reasons: his disintegrating popularity and credibility, his divisive policies, or his explanations for his Havana policy. No, he has political reasons. He stirred the pot by normalizing Cuba relations to inflame. Now he does a presser to take questions, as if those influence any dictator, and supplies contentious answers.

He intentionally stirred up a hornets nest with yet another Executive – whatever he is calling them these days – action. Then he goes off on vacation while everyone discusses his latest unilateral controversy. Since people are outraged by his arrogance abuses of power, it ensures they’ll be talking about him and what he did. So they’ll be talking about his agenda and he then controls the agenda.

So even after finishing the year with Democrats’ landslide loss, everyone has been talking about is his agenda, backed by his pen. Why only baffles some people — more outrage. But our outrage is only a reaction not a defense against it. (Much like the election)

Even in taking questions, he selected certain press to control some of the questions. Thus, even the appearance of having an open presser was a fraud. It is about control, controlling national dialogue into the new year. His way of saying bah-humbug to Republicans.

It’s a clever way of denying that voters declared him all but irrelevant weeks before. Yet he manages to be as relevant as ever by controlling the discussion, despite losses. Republicans go into a new year with more power than they have had in years, thanks largely to Obama’s unpopularity. He couldn’t even campaign for the Dems that lost, who disassociated with him. But can he continue to do it into the new year?

Now he is standing there saying you cannot ignore me. Not only can’t we, but everyone is left talking about his disgusting Executive abuses. He seems to argue “at least they’re talking about me”. Even that is deceiving, narcissist that he is. What he really cares about is forcing his crappy agenda — stinking up the room — back to the center of the table.

He completely dismisses and ignores Congress, yet no one can ignore him and his plans. He demands a response to his failed policies and agenda even after the people rejected them. Dems could not run on anything Obama was doing. In fact, in many places, like Louisiana, they spoke out against him to win votes.
.
That is just the backdrop and purpose to his presser. Mission: deny and defy reality.

Immigration canard

Obama quoted from Exodus in his illegal “immigrations” speech. Who knows why he did. Maybe he thought it would convince some people that he was doing the right thing.

What he quoted was Ex 22:21

21 “You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”
NKJV

But he should have went on to quote: Ex 23:1-3

“You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice. 3 You shall not show partiality to a poor man in his dispute.”
NKJV

Is there any part of the 2nd quote that he did NOT do?

What gets me is he operated outside the law in two ways, at least. (maybe more) He actually wrote law as he is not allowed to do. And he overstepped his authority into an area, immigration, he is not supposed to go. So there are two offenses.

As reported prior to his speech in WH leaked reports:

It expands the deportation reprieve given to some illegal aliens in 2012 to include millions more.

The plan calls for expanding deferred action for illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children — but also for the parents of U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.

The latter could allow upwards of 4.5 million illegal immigrant adults with U.S.-born children to stay, according to estimates.

Another portion that is sure to cause consternation among anti-“amnesty” lawmakers is a plan to expand deferred action for young people. In June 2012, Obama created such a program for illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, entered before June 2007 and were under 31 as of June 2012. The change would expand that to cover anyone who entered before they were 16, and change the cut-off from June 2007 to Jan. 1, 2010. This is estimated to make nearly 300,000 illegal immigrants eligible.

Let me remind him of a couple things. First was the unpopularity of what he did. Had he read the tea leaves, last year, he would have known it when they were slamming a so-called bipartisan “immigration” bill through the Senate. They did it and people were not happy about it, which is also why it went nowhere in the House. But determined they were and flaunted it as an achievement. At what expense?

Months went by with the same negativity growing toward the Senate, Obama and Democrats. Then, as soon as they got past the 2014 elections, here they are and Obama just has to take unconstitutional, unilateral action on illegal immigration. Working papers, SS numbers, amnesty etc. If it was as popular as they claim, why did he not do it months ago when they schemed it? Dems could have ran their campaigns on it and ran it by the people at the ballot box. No.

Heritage had a paper on so-called immigration reform. They list 10 things any proposal should deal with.

“Therefore, any President who truly wants to fix the U.S. immigration and border security problems must first fulfill his duty to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”[1] Fulfilling this responsibility requires 10 areas of action, and without a commitment to every area, U.S. immigration law is not being faithfully executed. These 10 policies are:

  1. Overriding and removing existing executive orders, agency memorandums, or other executive policy directives that ignore or contradict existing law;
  2. Allowing immigration agencies to enforce and apply the law without workplace interference, political pressure, or procedural obstacles;
  3. Providing the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency with a fully operational system of sensor and camera technologies and infrastructure on the southwest border to multiply the efficacy of their efforts;
  4. Using the appropriate judicial and administrative tools efficiently to remove and return unlawful immigrants to their home countries;
  5. Increasing enforcement against businesses that knowingly employ unlawful labor;
  6. Engaging with international partners and remaining committed to citizen security and democratic governance in the Western Hemisphere;
  7. Making U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), more efficient and effective;
  8. Reporting accurate immigration data to Congress and the American people in a truthful, consistent, and complete manner;
  9. Soliciting the assistance and support of the states in enforcing immigration laws and limiting the effectiveness of those governments that attempt to frustrate enforcement with sanctuary policies; and
  10. Verifying the success of these actions through honest and accurate Census survey data of the unlawful immigrant population.
See paper at: http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2014/11/ten-step-checklist-for-revitalizing-americas-immigration-system-how-the-administration-can-fulfill-its-responsibilities

It is doubtful that a president choosing to act in an unconstitutional manner would care much about the ethics or appearance of what he is doing. So he made no attempt to create even an illusion of legitimacy. He just wrote law and overstepped his authority boundaries. He has no respect for the law he is attempting to rewrite.

Talk about building it… and they come

The old saying is “build it, they will come”. The government has revised that to ‘talk about building it, and they’ll come.”

From the government’s page on unaccompanied children policy:

“Their youth, their separation from a protective environment or person, and the hazardous journey they embark make UAC especially vulnerable to becoming victims of human trafficking, exploitation, and abuse. UAC have multiple, inter-related reasons for undertaking the difficult journey of traveling to the United States. UAC leave their home countries to rejoin family already in the United States, to escape abusive family relationships in their home country, or to find work to support their families in the home country.”

Talk about extreme irony. The vulnerability of these people to be exploited and abused by our system is obvious – from the White House on down through the political ranks. That is exactly their purpose here to exploit illegals for all they can, politically. And the message is out to come and you will receive their protection.

Of course protection from what is not clear. In their homeland violence is down, and yet they are coming. Word is out they can seek and receive relief in this country with little chance of being returned.

The message is out that the US is about to rewrite its immigration law and policies to include them, should they get here, in de facto amnesty. Regardless what the nuances of the law are, the message is out. And they are coming.

There were 14,000 of these referral applicants in 2012, this year they expect over 60,000. And that is only an estimate. So there is a systematic agenda on both sides here. But clearly the illegals are jumping through the hoops.

It has been described by church organizations as a “sobering crisis of minors and others from Central America crossing into US”

Rather than sobering crisis, I’d call it a “slobbering crisis” of historic proportions.

Obama heads for Constitutional Crisis

Law Prof. Turley: Obama Risks Constitutional Crisis With Executive Action

Monday, 30 Jun 2014 | Newsmax
By Greg Richter

President Barack Obama is acting like “a bad gambler at Vegas” by doubling down on executive actions less than a week after a stinging Supreme Court defeat, says George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley.

A defiant Obama promised to take even more executive actions on Monday because Congress has told him it will not pass any immigration reform laws this year.

“If House Republicans are really concerned about me taking too many executive actions, the best solution to that is passing bills. Pass a bill. Solve a problem,” Obama said in a Rose Garden press conference.

Turley, appearing on Fox News Channel’s “Special Report, ” called that “a pretty surprising statement” considering that “the ink is barely dry” on Thursday’s 9-0 decision saying Obama was wrong to have made recess appointments when the Senate had declared itself to be in session.

“For him now to double down makes him look like a bad gambler at Vegas,” said Turley, who agrees with many of Obama’s policies, but has warned of a constitutional crisis if Obama continues implementing those policies by bypassing Congress.

“At some point this is going to cause serious problems for his administration. He’s going to start to lose Democrats,” Turley said. “The president of the United States can’t say the solution to gridlock is you simply have to resolve it on my terms.”

There’s a reason the issues aren’t being resolved, Turley said: “Congress is divided because the public is divided in these areas.”

Turley said the past 10 days have been “abysmal” for the administration.

“He was found to be in violation of the Fourth Amendment on privacy, then another case found him in violation of separation of powers. Now he’s been found in violation of religious rights in the First Amendment” in the Hobby Lobby case, Turley said.

“It doesn’t get much worse than this for a president.”

It doesn’t get much worse than this? Just watch.

When the law becomes the problem

Now, Boehner appears to be taking some action to file a lawsuit against Obama’s abusive pen and actions. We’ll see. However, it highlights some of the issues involved. Whatever the point is in the suit. Now the SCOTUS weighed in but to Obama it doesn’t matter.

We are a nation of laws, not men. Obama has been deciding which laws he will follow or won’t. Name them: immigration, border control or defense of marriage act, etc.. He feels those laws are wrong or faulty.

The odd thing is Leftists will never complain about too many laws. That is not a problem for them. No matter how much you try to convince them, they will refuse to accept it. Yet they single out which laws they want to follow as the prescription or answer to bad law. (they get to decide what is bad)

So they can ignore whatever they perceive as bad laws. They will justify it by twisted logic. But agree that we need less laws not more? That is contrary to their ideology.

Now we are back to hypocrisy. You’d think someone who singles out many laws, approved through Congress, as wrong or irrelevant, would realize there could be a limit to making laws. But their answer will always be to create another law to fix the bad one.(or problems)

Obama set the precedent that if you don’t like a law, just ignore it. Of course people don’t have that option because we are not above the law. (like staffers in ObamaCare)

Now Boehner proposes this unprecedented step of suing the administration for his abuse of power. But we already have a Constitutional prescription for the disease — this abuse — called impeachment. Instead, he proposes these aerial gymnastics. It’s sort of like swatting flies in a room with open windows and doors.
