Obama seeks doctrine of revision

…to turn back the hand of time.

So on the eve of 9/11, Obama takes to prime time to announce his supposed plan against ISIS, which he calls ISIL. He could have given this speech at any time in the last 9 months. He didn’t and made it on this particular day, after his dwindling poll numbers came out.

I won’t even give it a word for word reply because there is really nothing new. But he did say, once again, that ISIS is not an Islamic organization. Nope, it’s not..it’s not! That came early in his slithering rhetoric so it could have muted anything after.

But there is one other point that deserves mention. He said this action is designed to save and help those displaced by ISIS. Its too late, ISIS did that months ago. He watched it, or maybe he didn’t read those briefings? But now that the damage is done, he promises continued humanitarian aid. I bet they wished help would have really came to prevent what ISIS did. He did have an answer, someone said thank you, America, for coming. That was supposedly for his help earlier on Mt. Sinjar. (aid and persuade campaign)

“We cannot allow these communities to be driven from their ancient homelands,” Obama said.

How can you return to a burned home, or without the family that were slaughtered? Of course that was the whole idea of ISIS to be so brutal as to drive the people out for good. Message received. But Obama, always late to the game, now offers them cordial sympathies and promises of hope. Be careful about Obama’s promises of hope.

He spoke quite literally the way Democrats do about war strategy. The saying is that they are always fighting the last war. In this case, Obama was making a speech on a commemorative eve of the 9/11 attacks. Or that was supposed to be the backdrop. But that backdrop is of being attacked, and then there was the attack on his watch in Benghazi.

Was it an attempt to rehabilitate his image and indeed the day? Maybe. A day which two years earlier he wished to erase. A day that came at the worst time of his presidency, campaign eve of reelection. And a day which he wanted to ignore even before the Benghazi attack happened. If anything became clear, it was that Obama wanted no part in either Iraq, or the war on terrorism. What do you know, they both showed up in the same place. What are the chances?

Then he had for a year ignored the problems in Syria, after laying down a red-line which he himself ignored. He wasn’t interested in that and Putin gave him an out. His lack of attention on Iraq did not go unnoticed either. The original ISIS, an off chute of al Qaeda in Iraq was driven from Iraq in the war. It festered in Syria and gained traction during the civil war before moving right in to Iraq.

One can say it was albeit a direct creation of Obama, and his policies. Democrats resist the temptations, they say, at extended stays in countries. So be it. They claim they are not against justified actions in countries though. But we saw their prototype version in action in Libya. And it was a stunning failure. Another thing Obama immediately ignored. Our enemies didn’t. His Libyan adventure laid the groundwork for Benghazi.

Obama had already forgotten about Libya prior to the Benghazi attack. It was in the rear view mirror. And Biden told us, if we were looking for a bumper sticker, which Dems undoubtedly were, it was that “Osama bin Laden is dead and GM is alive.” (even if GM was on life support) Who cares about details? Their message sold, evidenced by how many Dems repeated it ad nausea. Whether it is true or not never mattered to them. Success in a soundbite over success on the battlefield.

Now he says he is going to counter a “warped ideology” which earlier he denied was real. He has not lacked opportunities to counter it. We had Christians slaughtered across the Mid East. They were driven almost completely out of Iraq. The black-flag Islamists marched across the ME. He may be the only one in the world willing to claim it is not Islamic. I said before he should leave the apologetics to Islamic scholars, who do not dispute the point. That they are killing Muslims, too, means exactly what? If this is his answer to evil, to revise it, then I question and reject everything about it.

Newtown horror, town loses its innocence

I’ve been searching for ways to talk about the unspeakable horror in Newtown, Ct. It’s tough to come to this point. Churchill said “Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing…after they have exhausted all other possibilities.”

In this case, the point may not be exhausting all other avenues but finding the words to express it. We’re told that it is important to talk about feelings. Liberals banter that philosophy around a lot. However, I don’t think it is important to talk about every little or large feeling one may have. Some of them may be better kept private between him/her and God.

But I’ll  say that, on something like this matter, thoughts should not be kept personal. On that I’d agree with liberals, though it doesn’t mean I agree with their methodology or conclusions. It was a horrible event causing personal and mass sadness. I’m offended by evil. I grieve for the victims, families and children. “Tragedy” does not do it justice.

Somewhere on the web I saw this thought:

The time when all the politicians tell you “Today is not the day” is EXACTLY the day to start talking. You talk when the armies of lobbyists haven’t got their ground game down, you talk before the talking points are distributed, you talk when the public eye is focused like a laser onto those in power whose only goal should be making our lives better and our children safer but do neither in a quest for more personal gain. To not hold them accountable and do anything less is dereliction of duty. — unknown

Mourners gather for a vigil service for victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, at the St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Newtown, Conn. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012.

Are we all talking about the same world? One where a video critical of Islam results in burning embassies; and a world where Liberals advocate sharing every feeling one has? Yet they slam you if you dare offend persons of a certain persuasion, while advocating attacks on their own political enemies. That world, in which liberals are judge and jury on free speech.

I found my voice and apparently so has the NRA in issuing a press statement that its several days of silence was “out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency.” Don’t count on mutual “respect” from media or the left. MSNBC went into political-mode almost immediately. Then Ibama, hijacking the memorial service to further politicize it, stepped it up.

Sorry about the rambling but there is a central theme to it all. It’s the same world where progressives want to make all the rules, “rules of the road”. Now they claim that everyone should be so offended by this event in Newtown that it should bring about “meaningful action and change”– defined by the left, of course. Obama says it calls for action. But their idea of action is one thing, what is truly called for is another.

Conservatives have long railed about the coarsening of culture, or the sickness of it. That criticism gets dismissed whenever they bring it up. Oh, the glories of enlightenment. But we have something like this happen and they clamour for action and legislation.    Would they want to crack down on violent video games and movies? No, they just want to blame guns for causing this horror. The gun didn’t pull the trigger, a madman did. Yet when we blame the culture and misplaced values it gets dismissed. “Sit down and shut up.”

They don’t want to deal with that aspect. Just do a few photo ops with clergy and family, then run to Washington asap to pass new laws and regulations. It doesn’t matter if they are right or not, just hurry up and do something to satisfy their feelings – the quicker the better. Strike while the iron is hot is their motto. Emotions rule.

In fact, they really don’t want to discuss” the issue, they want immediate action. Remember Pelosi saying “we have to pass a bill before you can find out what is in it”. That pretty much sums up their rush to legislate philosophy. Then we get a Casablanca moment, “shocked”. Don’t listen to their disingenuous, dishonest talk and calls for dialogue, look at what they do. Now, despite the tough reelection, Obama now claims another mandate for his arsenal — to legislate guns.

But cry out about government inaction over fast and furious or Libya? Not so much. They’ll drag their feet till the cows come home on those issues. And Obama will use executive power to halt the inquiry into F&F. Congress will stage a walkout. Mr. Zero-accountability will hide his failures behind executive privilege. But he’s right on point when it comes to attacking the 2nd amendment, and Congress can’t move fast enough for him to legislate. “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

They don’t want to merely act, they want to legislate by emotion. That’s nothing new for liberals, it’s what they do, even if bureaucrats are still writing it. Emotions rule, from Roe to the bench to the purse. When anyone mentions the coarsening culture of death, they don’t want to hear it. They staged a phony “war on women” and started a “war on religion” to create their self-fulfilling prophecy. They mocked any talk of “death panels” in ObamaCare, they ridicule pro-lifers, and defend murdering babies as a right. But the biggest problem is guns.(culture is giving that a run for their money) They don’t even want to recognize evil for what it is when staring it right in the face, or in the mirror.

There is as much potential harm in the legislative pen or executive order, as there is any gun. Both must be used responsibly.

There are two bodies in Congress, the Senate is known as the cooling saucer. But in this case — and never mind that the leader of the Senate is waging nuclear war on the filibuster — the Senate is moving at breakneck speed to get out a bill on gun control. The man who couldn’t get a budget through will suddenly find all kinds of ways to move this. Plus Obama has the executive pen which he promised to use in other circumstances. A scary thought when you think the second amendment is on the chopping block.

Especially considering if they sense support for more legislative controls, they will go as far as they can like they always do. If they have one chance, then grab as much as they possibly can while they can — just like with ObamaCare, the stimulus and the rest. “Take it to the limit”. Feinstein wants incremental controls, and then make it illegal to possess certain guns to top it off. And they will smile all the way to the scrap yards. That’s their plan and they’re sticking to it. They have useful MSM idiots who will push the issue.

So Manchin and Warner go wobbley on guns. Really, who would have predicted that? A Democrat turn coat. Remember Bart Stupak, Democrats for life and ObamaCare? That was the illusion of dissent. Then we saw DNC’s convention against God and Israel? — there was the real dissent.

Newtown lost its innocence and was violated. And innocence was lost in the public square… quite some time ago.

Faith and Fear

Part II of Religion Politics and Faith

Mark 4:35
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus     (NKJV)

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”  36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him,”Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”  41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”    (also Matt 8:23-27; Luke 8:22-25)

Isn’t that just like us? Who cannot identify with that? We see the storms raging all around us, and in desperation basically we ask, do You not care that we are perishing? — Do You not know?  But Jesus calmed the wind and sea and asked them “why are you so fearful?”  And then He asks why they have no faith? They have Jesus with them in the boat, yet are afraid when the storm rages. That should be a lesson to us. Jesus is nearer than we think and we should not fear the storm when it comes. But we do. These were the disciples. He had to remind them of faith. Just as they were in survival mode, they needed to keep faith.

When I hear the talk that Christians are questioning belief in God or that fewer people today do not question God, it rings a bell. It pours salt and lemon juice in the cut, but He is still with us. Even though we are in survival mode.

We need to keep our faith held to the Rock when the waves crash around us. Those who get it see this as both a wake up call  to their faith and a call to action. I was thinking there is a word for a time when Christians disappear, it’s called the rapture. So are these secular intellectuals suggesting they believe in that? No, hardly; though one day they may get their wish and have their self-serving prophecy delivered. But it may not be the paradise they thought it would be.

These academic critics can believe in this prophecy of a study — or study impersonating a prophecy. People have been predicting things for centuries, how much of it comes true? How accurate are their forecasts? I would not put my faith in a study or prediction over what God revealed to us. It just doesn’t make sense. On the other hand, if we accept all these predictions and studies as gospel then we still have a lot to learn.

I can almost hear people calling, “Do You not care that we are perishing?”

Candidate “Hope and Change” runs for 2nd term.

Rocky Mountain High meets Ohio State U – no holds barred

Dateline: May 5, 2012
Place: Columbus, Ohio

“If people ask you what this campaign is about, you tell them ‘it’s still about hope.’ You tell them ‘it’s still about change,'” [Obama] told a cheering mass of supporters at Ohio State University in Columbus, six months and one day before the election. “I still believe in you. And I’m asking you to keep believing in me.”

“The real question, the question that will actually make a difference in your life, in the lives of your children, is not just about how we’re doing today. It’s about how we’ll be doing tomorrow,” Obama said.

Not only hasn’t he delivered on the old question “are you better off today than you were four years ago?”, he has reframed it into a new question. Now he tells you that old question does not matter – If you still aren’t better off, and I haven’t delivered –just buy more of my Hope Oil for the future. “Hey, I haven’t delivered so far, but just bet it all on me for the future. Long odds, but hey, you know me and gambling.”

As RNC’s Reince Priebus said, “he is really running on hype and blame.”

The second thing wrong with what he’s selling is the “believe in me” part. He wants you to transfer your faith and hope to him, personally. That a way to go there bumsteer; you haven’t delivered yet.  So what does his record tell us?  If it does not materialize, as I say,  then it must be the people’s fault for not believing and having enough faith in me.

He also does not want people to vote as a referendum on him, he wants them to vote for him because he is not Mitt Romney. Remember the same strategy when he ran as the ‘not Bush candidate’ against George Bush, who was leaving.

Picture it: Kent State, Ohio in 1970;  now, 2012, O-ba-ma comes to O-hi-o to sing a song of salvation from the albatross of the DC elites. But now the leftwing radicals buy hope and change just because its labeled “hope and change” – for practically no other reason.

Side note: Michelle introduced him as the standard-bearer of the “fundamental promise”.

Here’s a bit of irony: instead of the albatross coming to the rescue like above, Obama has a new drone plan rolling out. Check that out at Pepperhawkfarm.
