RBG To Refried Beans

Ruth Bader Ginsburg died, just like she wrote in many stinging opinions, in dissent.

She sat on a seat during a president who was not of her political preference. She was in dissent with the executive branch and president. That was her opinion, okay.

But she had time and opportunity to leave under Obama’s regime, who could have replaced her with a suitable radical jurist. No she was in dissent on leaving then.

Now news comes out about a statement made to her granddaughter saying:”my fervent wish is to not be replaced until a new president is installed.” Once again, in dissent..

Dying wish trumps all?

Who is she to get that say? She had her say and voice when she did not retire despite her health. In dissent all the way. Now she appears to be crying out in dissent.

Yet in 2016, she wanted the nomination and confirmation process to go forward to replace Antonin Scalia, who was her ideological opponent as well as her good friend. Why can’t we use her own words then, as she is now, in dissent?

Didn’t she know of Scalia’s fervent desires about such things? Surely she knew he would not want to be replaced by Obama. She would have known that. But she said replace him under that president, even as he was termed-out and leaving office in months.

No, she was gung ho about ramming a nominee through to replace Scalia, despite the Senate being in Republican hands. Under the bus you go, good friend.(nothing personal)

That should have told us something there. Or is all that only refried beans now? She was in dissent then as she is in dissent now. Friends like that who needs enemies?

RBG told Senate in 2016 to do ‘their job,’ replace Scalia before election: report — NY Post

“There’s nothing in the Constitution that says the president stops being the president in his last year,” Ginsburg told the New York Times in 2016 when she urged the Senate to do “their job” and consider President Obama’s court nominee Merrick Garland.

Obama and Hagel head into the bunker

Initially, I thought Chuck Hagel’s nomination was a joke or possibly a diversion for another. But no, Obama is set on it. Of course, its another divisive nomination. What other kind does he make?

He already has him on his team behind the scenes, which should not surprise anyone. Anyone with radical views will curry Obama’s favor. The more rad the better. We’ve already got a good strong whiff of Obama’s foreign policies.

But even fellow left-wing radical, Chucky Cheese Schumer, has reservations about Hagel’s foreign policy and anti-Israel stands. Wow, are there some “deeply held views” in his own party that Schumer cannot accept?

In The Telegragh:

Ted Cruz, a newly elected senator for Texas and a favourite of the Right-wing Tea Party movement, said that he too was “concerned” about Mr Hagel’s past statements. He accused Mr Obama of being “high on re-election”.

Being high on re-election is one way to put it. Maybe this will make the anti-Israel Democrats happy — then he only has to pacify the anti-God crowd. Anything that delights the anti-Israel crowd and Iranians is bound to please Obama.

Iranian State Press Gushes Over Likely Obama Defense Nominee Chuck Hagel As “Anti-Israel,” “Outspoken Critic Of Zionist Lobby”

Via Weekly Standard:

Iranian state press, Press TV, is praising President Barack Obama’s likely defense nominee as “anti-Israel,” according to a piece published on the propaganda outlet’s website. The piece is titled, “Obama expected to nominate anti-Israel Hagel as secretary of defense.”

The piece begins, “US President Barack Obama is expected to nominate former Senator Chuck Hagel, an outspoken critic of Israel, as the next Pentagon chief.” Hagel has not yet been officially nominated for the defense secretary position, but all indicators suggest he’s at the top of President Obama’s list.

And, with apparent glee, the piece points out, “Some in the Israeli lobby have reportedly reacted with alarm to reports of Hagel’s nomination as he is known as an outspoken critic of the Zionist lobby in Washington.”

Schumer isn’t the only Democrat to watch as the confirmation battle begins. New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, the expected chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the next Congress, is a leading Democratic hawk on Iran whose views on the subject are at odds with Hagel’s. Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, representing a swing state where Jewish voters are a key constituency, is another stalwart ally of Israel who is likely to be under pressure to oppose Hagel. And the minyan of Jewish Democratic senators, particularly Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin, New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Michigan Sen. Carl Levin and California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, will be worth watching closely.

EXCLUSIVE: Susan Rice drops out of running for secretary of state; saddened by partisan politics

By Tracy Connor, NBC News

Embattled U.N. envoy Susan Rice is dropping out of the running to be the next secretary of state after months of criticism over her Benghazi comments, she told NBC News on Thursday.

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects.

“That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country…Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time,” she wrote in the letter obtained by NBC News.

Looks like another attempt to portray someone in the administration as a victim. Too bad it overlooks four real victims of this administration.
