Those Crazy Rulers And Their Methods

There is an obsession now by the Left to compare the pandemic and gun control. I’ll take that comparison. I’ll tell you why.

The pandemic started with various responses. After the travel lock-down came the lock-downs of every state. Also there was the mask issue that first was pooh-poohed as a nonstarter. It was changed to virtually a public mandate.

The reason for the responses, and they said so at the time, was to flatten the curve. They wanted to slow the spread to lift strain off hospitals. By no means did they think that was a concrete cure. In fact, they said until a vaccine was discovered or herd immunity kicked in that it would continue to spread. And we heard about the level of contagiousness.

Like everything always does, this changed. Goalposts were moved. They began declaring masks were indeed the solution and if we only wore them we could almost stomp out the spread. But no, initially masks were only to slow the spread.

See they began thinking that they could actually control the virus. That was the fatal flaw. They could not and would not control it, no more than they can control the climate. But they insisted and fooled people into thinking that. Then the lock-downs continued and dragged on, and on. They even blamed us when results were not forthcoming.

See what happens they get the idea they can control everything? Or they sell that idea for obvious public consumption? They get the public to buy into a theory and out pops all these rules and dictates to complete it.

When it doesn’t happen, don’t worry because they’ve already convinced enough people to think it will happen and they sit idly by waiting. Then they blame all kinds of things when it does not come to fruition, everything but the faulty premise in the first place.

They got people committed to results they cannot deliver. It’s too late to turn back. They claim sooner or later you will see results. And they remind you of what it could be like if they weren’t doing what they are doing. On and on, they string you along.

Between all that process, they gave way an important ingredient in their scheme, the ability to declare emergencies to enact their mandates.

So the gun debate has the same similar factors shaping it. They need to sell you on a solution to a problem. Pay no attention to the fact that their solution cannot deliver the ultimate solution they want.

There again, they claim they have to do something. Read entitled to inflict their solution on the people, come hell or high water. They must sell you on controlling the problem.

But their solution will not fix the problem. Of course, the sales pitch is to sharply reduce shootings, if not almost eliminate them. Again, in this scenario, what happens is law abiding people, willing to follow their rules, comply with a mandate that by design cannot deliver the results they want.

So then, when their desired results don’t materialize, the answer is we just did not do enough of it. We must do more only harder to bend the curve, or curb violence and shootings. But law abiding people are cooperating.

The ones they need to cooperate are the criminals themselves or nothing changes. How to do that? Not by making another law but by enforcing the law we have. But they do not want to do that, because that does not make the case for their need for gun control. They want the problem to drive the need. Eliminate the problem and the need for a solution disappears. Can’t have that.

Right now they are at the stage of gun control as the cure or fix. Then they will move to “you didn’t take enough of the cure.” Once they get you in the sacrifice mode, you want to start seeing any results for all your efforts. But it can never deliver the results they desire. Never mind that.

Here’s where it all comes into play. From Rasmussen polls:

“Friday, March 26, 2021

In the wake of two mass shootings, President Joe Biden called for Congress to pass new gun-control laws, but nearly two-thirds of voters don’t believe such tragedies are preventable.

A new Rasmussen Reports … survey finds that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters say it is not possible to completely prevent mass shootings like the ones in Atlanta, Georgia, and Boulder, Colorado. Only 23% believe mass shootings can be completely prevented, while 13% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

So only 13% believe shootings can be completely eliminated. I need to find those people to sell them some snake oil. Probably the same people who buy all the other ideas Democrats feed them. Weird science anyone?

Plan A Rolling Into AA Nonstop

The Democrats plan is unfolding as of this minute, and the plot is becoming very clear to anyone following the script. As obvious as the clock is on the wall.

That is to ride out their authoritarian control over us, government and the economy using the rubric of COVID but then, when it fizzles out, to shift the same control (now expertise) over the country under another banner – think Climate Change and illegal invasion or any other suitable, created, self imposed crisis or cause du jour.

You don’t have to think hard on that one anymore, they made it clear: COVID is only a dress rehearsal. They always build on their failures. My guess is it will be bigger and more disastrous than even a pandemic was. Maybe a dual or trifecta purpose and cause celeb? So, in fact, this was only a trail run. Get ready for the “ripper and gripper” sequel.

Now that they got people conditioned and accustomed to hunkering down to make every personal sacrifice possible, even families, what is not possible to do to the country next?

Something Wicked this way comes.

But there can be no pause in between to allow return to some semblance of normalcy because there is no more normalcy. It is gone. That has already been demolished.

But sure, even in that scenario, there will still be some winners and losers. The power elite and political brokers will decide who those are too. Together with their new election schemes they see no limits. Why should they? Is there anyone there – or legal controlling authority — to stop or prevent them. They think not.

We aren’t just dealing with the loony Left and political power anymore; we are dealing with a cocktail of evil. Let’s dispel their major notion. science in not a significant factor in any of this. (it hasn’t been) Power and politics are everything. That defies science.

The only veto you have — maybe the only one you will ever get — is in not supporting the left in the midterms. People cried wolf before but now the wolf is telling us himself.

Oh, I don’t really want to believe what I just wrote but the rocks are crying out.

2020 In The Rearview

In the last week of the year, I thought it would be good to do a post on 2020 but I couldn’t do it. That is above my grade. It would take a 750 page tome just to outline the events of this year in any detail.

2020 was an indictment on our culture, the establishment, the Left. It was a complete assault on values and western society. I’ll take a pass on that. In fact, the cottage industry in 2021 will be books about what happened in 2020, and not just about the election. But it will probably inspire some books, too.

So what to do about 2020 but give it a big old middle finger? Maybe a Bronx cheer salute from sea to shining sea. A giant sigh.

Assembling those thoughts on it, my instinctive reaction was to get on my knees and plead for it to be over, never happen again, that we recover and learn what we need to to do that.

Above all, pray that it be over. Finished. Then the taps would be in order rather than playing “Auld Lang Syne”. That song literally means “for the sake of old times.” 2020 was a blitzkrieg on the old times. Here are the lyrics:

“Should Old Acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of Love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
that loving Breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect
On old long syne.”

It doesn’t quite work. Maybe those words are an appropriate tribute in any other year except this one. The taps with no lyrics serves it much better.

What did we learn; what were the important events; where are the benefits; or what was the overall theme? Too soon? There are days still left. Did anyone get mad at a year?

If cancel culture had any legitimacy or backbone, it would cancel 2020. But no, it tried to use the events of the year to cancel other things or people. Think of them all: from heroes to founders, to everyday Americans, to America itself, to news stories and corruption, to a great president. Cancel culture was literally screaming through a pandemic.

The only thing they didn’t try canceling was China, the place that spawned the pandemic.

And politics were in full display, oh were they. We found some events or situations that even politics, politicization of events or weaponization had no answer for. But they tried.

Finish 2020 off by 2 Senate runoffs in Georgia — which could determine the majority in the US Senate — by radical, commie, Marxist candidates. What could go wrong with that?

Is there no mercy left?

As bad as the year has been, whistling past the graveyard would do us no justice. We must make sure this year does not contaminate others. We must vow to repair the damage, not to continue it.

The strange thing is I get a sick feeling the Democrat left is not as disgusted by the year as the rest of us are. After all, in crises they see opportunities. The greater the crisis, the more people hurt, the greater the opportunity. It’s their motto.

Still one thought does remain about all those who did not see the end of the year, maybe for different reasons. Hundreds of thousands, like nursing home residents, did not make it through. Not even receiving a proper farewell. Enough said.

Play the taps. (Yet it will be remembered, in infamy)

Hypocrisy Takes 2020 By Storm

Back early in the year, I declared this year would be the year of hypocrisy. Well, that may not be that big of a prediction. But I didn’t know what was going to happen, it was simply based on the trajectory of politics at the time. You could read those posts here and here.

Remember we were having the impeachment over a phone call and quid pro-quo Joe was only a glimmer on the political stage. But he had a quid pro-quo with Ukraine and boasted about it. Since then, it has been worse than anything I could have thought.

Hypocrisy is everywhere, from the gov in California to the Speaker of the House, to the results of the 2020 election. So hypocrisy reigned supreme in everything. It seems a safe bet in most any year to call it a year of hypocrisy. In September, I revised the prediction to the year of multi-tasking. That is sort of self-explanatory. Indeed the people were doing more than one thing and juggling many things at once. That was true too.

But then hypocrisy busted through the finish line with ease. Of course this is all only my opinion – as they say those can vary. The sheer hypocrisy this year should be evident.

Impeachment of a president when they themselves should have been impeached. With everything we found out, there was no way to hide all they had done to Trump or to the people. But here they were only impeaching a president they claimed was never legitimate anyway. And actually it was Joe Biden who had done exactly what they were accusing Trump of doing. Then came Nancy Pelosi devoutly tearing up the President’s speech in front of us. Supposedly denying his legitimacy. Though her credibility was shredded.

Yet at the very time they were doing this, a pandemic from hell was bearing down on the US. They poo-poohed it as a real threat. Pelosi and Health Dept officials in NY both took to public pronouncements that COVID was defacto DOA – dead on arrival — in the US.

Months later they switched rhetoric to the president was not doing enough to prevent it. Then they started the gloomy prognosticating on how bad it was, while blaming Trump. Incidentally, has anyone seen another country blame its leader for COVID_19?

There was also the Cuomo version of events. First he denied COVID was a problem outside a normal flu. Then he blamed Trump for everything as he himself enacted orders to send COVID into nursing homes. He went from blaming Trump to then arguing that the virus did not come from China, but from Europe. Anyone watching him give his daily briefings was curious what new thing he would say each day to contradict himself.

Cuomo refused to stop travel from NYC at the hiight of the virus, yet later on would swing to blocking people from coming to NYC. He demanded new hospitals be erected, including putting a ship in the harbor, but he never used them.

And of course one has to add that meanwhile dealing with the pandemic, Cuomo was writing a book on how well he dealt with the pandemic. But it should be called the definitive book of hypocrisy, by the defining hypocrite of the era.

On and on it has gone. Yes, hypocrisy is putting in a very strong finish to the year.

Before, election Democrats railed about post offices being a den of conspiracy against a fair election. They singled out the Post Master General. After election, what problems?
Democrats had scrutinized Dominion and its software as a threat to democracy. Now, what problem? Democrats said the only hope to end the virus was a vaccine. Now, on approval, it is not the be all end all. Maybe it should wait for Biden?

Then of course Democrat lawmakers issued their lockdown procedures, sometimes just before going out to violate the orders themselves. Then they feigned apologies that they are sorry. But are they? Austin’s mayor broadcasted lockdown orders from Mexico.

First they told us masks were unnecessary and even put you at risk. Now they demand you wear them. Vaccine was the bomb until it came out, then Democrats said they would refuse to take accept it because it came out under Trump.

They kept big box stores open but smaller businesses had to be shut or they pulled their business license. But they decided liquor stores could be essential businesses.

What they deemed essential or non-essential was entirely subjective. Then they said science was king, but none of the economy shutdown was science at all.

And let us not forget the Hydroxychloroquine fiasco. Usage of it was blocked. They said it could kill you. They managed to ban a cheap drug with promising, effective results. Then they called us conspiracy theorists.

The FDA said (6/15/20): “the known and potential benefits of CQ and HCQ no longer outweigh the known and potential risks for the authorized use.”

Of course one of the worst things was politicizing a pandemic that does not respect any politics. They told us the rights to protest were paramount over any lockdown restrictions. Millions of people marched in the streets while churches had to remain closed on orders from the state. Violators were heavily fined, even jailed. Meanwhile they set ‘no bail’ legislation for criminals, essentially turning them loose after arrest.

Violence even superseded any health restrictions. “Mostly peaceful protests” became a euphemism for riots, violence and looting for the year.

Police shootings or attacks were frequently ignored as individual incidents of police misconduct were panned across the country, 24/7. Abc said “police officers killed surge 28%” in 2020, “and some point to civil unrest and those looking to exploit it.”

And the answer for this phenomena and numbers of police attacks? Wait for it… abolish or defund the police. Some areas acted on these hypocritical demands to cut police funding.

But later on, Democrats claimed they did not want to defund the police as we said they did. They invented the term re-imagine police. They claimed Dems did not call for “defunding.”

Democrats said Donald J Trump was out to steal the election, then they proceeded to have the worst fraud-plagued election in history. All justified of course. Then they called it the smoothest election in modern history.

They even argued that fraud may have been present but it was not enough to change the results of the election. Excuse me, but that was the entire purpose for it. Enough?

Democrats wanted to employ the 25th amendment against Trump claiming he was not psychologically fit or capable of holding the office. But then along came Joe Biden, who they claimed would be the most competent president for America, excellently qualified.

Indeed Democrats spent four long, miserable years claiming Trump was illegitimate and that the election was rigged in favor of Trump. Then they proceeded to create the most rigged election in history from rule changes right through Election Day. But nothing to see here, people, it was a superb election. We were called conspiracists.

So now the candidate who did not campaign, staying in his basement bunker, happened to get more votes than any presidential candidate in history? 13 million more than Obama.

They claimed Antifa was not a threat, and Joe Biden declared it an idea – not an actual organization of terror and crime. So Pelosi said Trump and Republicans were “enemies of the state”  by scaring people from voting. Then the press ignored her outrageous claim  after they complained that Trump labeled press/media enemies of the people.

Let’s remember that Pelosi declined a 1.8 trillion dollar aid package offer. Then she accepted a 900 billion dollar package calling it a success because now we have a new president. She told a reporter that the earlier negotiation was not a failure, on her part, but is why they got here. So getting a new president was her real objective? Pelosi got a professional blowout in a closed salon, then said she was set up by the owner.

Yes, after years of not accepting Hillary’s failure, media demands Trump accept the fraud election. Then they have the nerve to say that no time in history was there ever a president and election labeled illegitimate. (David Gergen fielded that whopper on CNN)

But just add another that Democrats wanted the entire economy to be shut down by executive action. Then they claimed that Trump ruined the economy. They demanded presidential action, then they claimed states rights. But later they claimed Trump failed to issue a federal mandate. Cuomo threatened a federal mandate would incite civil war.

There was so much more that could be said about this stellar year of hypocrisy.

Politics Of A Pandemic

Everyone now knows how bad an epidemic is. As if we needed a lesson on that. Indeed, it is a powerful thing. But how powerful?

Yes, a pandemic is powerful, not only how it can kill people.

But we have learned that a pandemic was powerful enough to determine who should be President of the United States and our way of life. Who knew a pandemic could do that?

Well, it even determined how we would run elections. It determined who were the winners and losers in the economy. It determined how we should educate our kids or work.

It is a very omnipresent thing, this Chinese virus from hell.

Why stop there? It should also determine world economic affairs. It should determine our global warming agenda. It can create a Great Reset. It can determine our economic system, our energy source. It should also determine what governments can do to citizens under the guise of an emergency.

“There is an urgent need for global stakeholders to cooperate in simultaneously managing the direct consequences of the COVID-19 crisis. To improve the state of the world, the World Economic Forum is starting The Great Reset initiative.” — [from Great Reset forum site]

It is no joke. They can do all this, or anything they want, under the auspices of a “pandemic.” That means they have found a way to politicize even a pandemic. And then they easily find ways to weaponize it against every faucet of our society.

Now no one likes a pandemic. No one hopes for one. But few could have expected the ways in which it could be used against the people as a weapon. If you had serious issues about the expanse of government power before, then this tool put your fears on another level.

For instance, we also learned this pandemic could determine rules and authorize freedoms of speech, religion or assembly. And it could be weaponized to limit those rights, too.

So if you did not see a pandemic as a national security issue as well, you were in for a surprise. It was not a matter of determining rights or banning them, it was essentially a manner of control.

This China virus gave ruling elites carte blanche to do what they will to people. Connect it to global economic policies and you have a cocktail from hell.

A forum in June with world leaders inspired them all to use the pandemic to push as much globalism, climate change policy as they could. Think of the pandemic as an opportunity to install their agenda. You might call it the new green deal-maker.

“Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed,” wrote Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, in an article published on WEF’s website. “In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.” – The Hill

If that were not bad enough, then any cure or vaccine easily presents another good opportunity to control people. Or, as Zeke Emanuel sees it, we need to determine who does or doesn’t get the vaccine. Of course age limits need to determine that. And a magical 75-year life span would be a good cutoff for the use of valuable resources like medicine.

Everyone see where all this is going? Turns out a pandemic can be a very useful thing, even a tool. The virus as a huge political opportunity Leftist who politicized and weaponized the entire apparatus extort it so easily that I bet many kids will not realize the way in which the pandemic was used like a tool to control or influence their lives.

But now the Left has done something even more amazing than grant all this authority to it, it has personified a pandemic into a rogue dictator that gets to control your life. It is no longer a thing. The Democrats, however, can hide their deeds behind it which keeps them unaccountable for the actions. Who knew a pandemic was that powerful?

Think about that Great Reset button next time Democrats say they are following science.

Exhibit B: Justin Trueau at UN conference September 29, 2020

“This pandemic has provided an opportunity for a Reset. This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to re-imagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality, and climate change.” — J. Trudeau, reported by Climate Depot

Pandemic Poison

The real question is how much fraud will America tolerate? Or how much is too much?

Suddenly people don’t care about election problems. After all, problems are only important to Democrats for the opportunities they create. Just think extortion.

True to political form, Biden keeps telling us that we have incredible opportunities now. What opportunities is he referring to? Only Democrats can define crises as opportunities.

So they used a pandemic crisis from China to create opportunities to remodel elections. Thereby creating another crisis in our election system.

That’s par for the course in the circle of life for the establishment swamp.

Does using the pandemic for ideological ends sound eerily familiar? It should.
That’s exactly like the way CCP and China operates.

Now we are to believe voters elected Biden president because of a malicious pandemic sent from China. I’m seeing a lot of heavy-handed parallels. And that is really a “big f-ing deal!”

How ironic then that Biden should come slithering in just like a virus from China.

Also, Joe Biden should be more than happy to have all the challenges to the election. If he really won free and clear, it should only vindicate him and add legitimacy to the results.

But something tells me now we need a vaccine for elections because they appear to be on life-support. Have they replaced one crisis with another? Expect a crisis epidemic.

Politicizing a pandemic was no problem at all. And voila, suddenly optimism is in vogue?

Politics Of A Pandemic

Some people refuse to believe this pandemic is anything more than a flu hoax, oversold and over-hyped. The reasons are assorted but they don’t seem to be changing their minds.

I made the decision early on as to whether to follow the conspiracy side or accept it as a real pandemic threat. I chose the pandemic side and haven’t questioned that decision. Maybe the same can be said for the conspiracists.

Not that I’m anti-conspiracy, I just like to choose them wisely. This one didn’t fit for me unless I missed some mountain of evidence. We have plenty of valid ones out there, as far as I’m concerned. But no matter which side, people seem dug in on what they think of it.

However, I have seen enough damage now. There is a list of things affected by the Asian Contagion, China virus. No, they don’t add proof to the cause but they do say something about the severity of it. Just to mention a few things we know though the list is growing:

    • Food shortages on everyday items
    • Masks in public everywhere.
    • Economic damage
    • Small businesses get slammed with costs as it continues.
    • Job losses, or eliminations.
    • Enormous costs in deficit, continuing
    • Shortages of medical supplies
    • Regular procedures at hospitals suspended.
    • No family gatherings (a plus to some people)
    • No church
    • No schools
    • Stay at home – isolation
    • (The list goes on, evolving almost weekly.)

Now the problem is the hoax-conspiracists can just as easily say it is all further proof of the successful damage of the hoax. They can weave it right into their plot. Then they will blame the hoax itself, and its creators, for these ongoing sufferings we see and feel. They see the hoax as the cause of it all. The effects are suppose to validate the hoax theory.

I take the different approach. I just add it as more damage that this virus from China has caused. It is a mounting tally. And I see China as the cause of it all. So all the damages are collateral effects of the pandemic. You can see those effects range from medical to economic, to the seemingly unrelated normal things.

Never the less, in my mind anyway, all of it traces back to China by way of the pandemic. So you cannot buy your Chunky Soup at the grocery store because of the pandemic. I’m all for understanding temporary shortages for due reasons but these droughts seem to be dragging out for extended periods, making you wonder when things will be the same again?

Has this crossed the line now to the point when things migjht never be the same, at least for some time to come? I didn’t think so at first but now I am not so sure. Maybe this has pushed these negatives so far that it cannot return to normal? Again, for that I hold China responsible for it all.

Even the mask wearing, which sort of irritates me, seems more a part of the foreseeable future than I hoped. Are we living in a period of unprecedented change? I do hope not because there are plenty of people who would like to take advantage of that. Far worse than even gouging and hoarding.

And those sorts of people lead me right back to the subject of this piece, politics and opportunist politicians. Sure there are others too, but they functionally follow the same formula. That is to extort the problem for all it’s worth, for personal and political gain – often the same thing. But make no mistake, it has been politicized, used and extorted.

Some Like It Hard

After years of accusing Trump of being an authoritarian dictator, media and the left now demand he enact martial law. They want unilateral action and they want it now.

Another consideration for your consumption, instead of media talking points: Trump signs the Defense Production Act and then they scream but he has not used it yet. Prove it if you have or else “why not?”

And they ask so if he now has the capability, having enacted the power. then where are the tens of millions of masks and supplies? These people don’t know anything about physical production. Merely enacting a power does not make things magically appear at will.

I will say seeing Trump effectively close the borders does put a big smile on my face.

“Lives are at stake,” they say, thousands of lives. People that proudly aborted over 60 million lives suddenly have an immediate obsession with saving lives. Sure, they are the compassionate ones.
