Free Speech Or Risky Speech?

How would you like it if there were a committee of people assembled in your town who got to decide whether or not you have free speech to participate in the public square? Or if you will be banned from access to the same resources everyone else communicates with?

Well, that is what Facebook is rolling out over whether Trump has free speech and access to the public square or not? Of course, in this case they decided that no, in fact, he does not. He shall remain banned and shunned like a leper, well, at least for six more months. What happens then? Maybe their “high Committee” will gather for another verdict.

If any of it sounds absurd, it should. What if you were treated the same way? All it takes is them declaring you a risk and unpalatable. Supposedly Zuckerberg went to the trouble of having this so-called independent committee decide Trump’s fate. But essentially, it could be our fate as well, and will be, since we can all be given the same ostracized treatment.

It comes down to their verdict of whether one’s speech is free speech or risky speech, or if their empowered committee cancels your participation rights or not? But never tell these arrogant lords of social media that their own right to exist or function is contingent on approval of some “mob” or “committee” — either one amounts to the same thing.

In the end, anything that may be a risk or threat to their power is branded an intolerable risk that cannot be allowed, because it  threatens their habitat and power. Isn’t that what this is all about, their habitat and its preservation? They get to decide who is allowed into their ever-expansive habitat and who is not. But then they don’t live by their own rules, yet they hold the cancel button for everyone else in their hands.

In this hierarchy, there are no appeals or other arbiters, all decisions and cancellations are final. If the mob decides you should be deleted, you are. They control town square and those in it. Who made big-tech kings? I thought America did not accept such royalty.

Josh Hawley gave us a preview even before his book comes out. And now that it is coming out, despite their cancel attempts, the Left are even more enraged than before.

What else is new, we have a president whose Justice Department is targeting his political opponents. Rudy Giuliani is raided like some criminal. Notice how days after news came out about John Kerry collaborating and sharing classified intelligence with the Iranians, it is suddenly time to round up Rudy. Great diversion and defensive tactics. Do you think we’ll ever see John Kerry rounded up and raided for what he was doing for four years? Nah. Have you ever thought such things were possible in America?

That is the problem, it doesn’t feel like America with these things happening. This is not democracy or America; it is anti-American. And part of the country wants it that way.

News in review 2/27

Week in review of some of the best “news” stories the news could come up with. Some weeks require a summary of the news nuances, in no specific order.

There was llama-gate, a pair of llamas evading capture in Arizona as a panicked public looked on in fear for….llamas and everything else. No word on the amount of chopper fuel expended to track their antics. They have been safely captured, cowboys win 2-0.

Friday, the Team Xtreme race team announced its Sprint Cup car was stolen from an Atlanta hotel lot, in an unmarked trailer. It has since been recovered but caused Travis Kvapil to withdraw from Sunday’s race. He was very good about the incident and thought it was a joke at first.

The world seemed to go Lady-Gaga crazy for a dress that no one could agree on the color of. Call it coincidental marketing genius for the designer; it had everyone weighing in with their opinion on the color. No word from Bill Clinton on what constitutes a blue dress. But someone from the WH press did ask Josh Earnest if Obama had an opinion on it?

Think of what else is going on while we are covering llamas live and trying to determine the true color of a dress?

Congress invents its own version of the movie “Groundhog Day” by at the last minute passing a one week extension on Homeland Security funding. Guaranteed to keep you glued to your seats for next Friday’s sequel.

Then Sec of Denial, John Kerry weighed in on the state of world-wide threats:

Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally, less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century.

Crazy Clapper testifies:

“When the final counting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such a data has been compiled. About half of all attacks as well fatalities in 2014 occurred in just three countries: Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.”

Something like a switch of rolls for Clapper.

America: he loves me — he loves me not!
But the human interest story of the week was probably a 12 year-old boy in Georgia who defended Rudy Giuliani’s comments on whether Obama loves America.

Not to be outdone in inflammatory rhetoric, Louis Farrakhan rose to the challenge with this comment.

“Giuliani says Obama does not love America. And instead of apologizing, they say he doubled down, he tripled down, he said, ‘I’m not taking this back. He didn’t grow up like we grew up.’”

“How did you grow up, Giuliani? A privileged cracker? [applause] Or I should say, a privileged devil?!”

Which prompted conservatives to demand that each Democrat, one by one, be asked if they agree or not with Farrakhan’s remarks? Inquiring minds need to know.

David Axelrod also gave an interview (last week) in which he said:

“I’m proud of the fact that basically you’ve had an administration that has been in place for six years in which there hasn’t been a major scandal.”

Apparently the litmus test for whether something is a major scandal is now whether it has a dramatic effect on Obama’s “image” or approval polls. Not a major scandal? That is some of what passed for news. It’s a wrap.

America’s mayor calls out America’s failure, Obama

WATCH: Rudy Giuliani Hammers Obama At Romney Rally in Ohio: “He Should Resign”…”He Lied”

November 3, 2012
Rudy Giuiliani enraged

He doesn’t want a second term he wants a second chance because he screwed it up the first time” Rudy said at the Romney rally in West Chester, Ohio

(CNN) Not long after taking a few seconds of silence for those affected by Superstorm Sandy, Rudy Giuliani began ripping into President Barack Obama on Friday while speaking at major campaign event for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in Ohio.

The former New York City mayor delivered a series of blistering zingers against the president, rallying the massive crowd with line after line of reasons why Obama should “resign” and faulting him for “incompetence” over the Libya consulate attacks.

Rudy ties it all together. “They should be ashamed of themselves!”
