Thoughts: St. Patrick’s Day

May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been and the foresight to know where you’re going and the insight to know when you’re going too far.
Firelight will not let you read fine stories, but it’s warm and you won’t see the dust on the floor.
Where the tongue slips, it speaks the truth.
An old broom knows the dirty corners best.
May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.
May the roof above us never fall in, and may we friends gathered below never fall out.
These things I warmly wish for you – someone to love, some work to do, a bit o’sun, a bit o’cheer, and a guardian angel always near.

A Guinness Legacy.
The Guinness family, the noted Irish brewers, regularly contributed to the renovation of St. Patrick’s Cathedral over the years.  It is therefore interesting to note that a monument to Sir Benjamin Guinness’s daughter stands under a stained glass window bearing the words, “I was thirsty and ye gave me drink.”
