What’s a little astroturf on gun control?

Why Did It Take Two Weeks To Discover Parkland Students’ Astroturfing?

The Federalist

The Miami Herald credited their success to the school’s stellar debate program. The Wall Street Journal said it was because they were born online, and organizing was instinctive.

On February 28, BuzzFeed came out with the actual story: Rep. Debbie Wassermann Schultz aiding in the lobbying in Tallahassee, a teacher’s union organizing the buses that got the kids there, Michael Bloomberg’s groups and the Women’s March working on the upcoming March For Our Lives, MoveOn.org doing social media promotion and (potentially) march logistics, and training for student activists provided by federally funded Planned Parenthood.

When Dems say grasroots they mean astroturf. Almost made to order. Hmm.

Islam indoctrination 101

Once again, a public school firmly putting its foot down on the side of Islam indoctrination of students. Case in Maryland ignites suit.

Daily Signal

A Maryland couple are suing their county school system, the school board, and their daughter’s high school principal over what they claim was “Islamic indoctrination and propaganda” in a world history class.

John Kevin Wood and his wife, Melissa, say they are Christians and were upset to learn their 16-year-old daughter brought home homework that characterized Muslims as having “stronger” faith than Christians.

Not just “stronger faith”, but students are made to recite the profession of faith. And we know how importantly significant that is to Muslims. Order the prayer rugs.

Mother rips Islam school worksheet: ‘My son will not be a part of this’

October 5, 2015 | Kyle Olson | EAG News.org

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A California mother made it very clear her son would not be describing the Five Pillars of Islam or listening to an Islamic call to prayer.

Tara Cali posted a photo of a worksheet on Facebook she says was handed out in her son’s 7th grade history class.

Titled, “Islamic Beliefs and Practices,” students were to list the Five Pillars of Islam and scan a QR code with a mobile phone or tablet, which would take them to a YouTube video of “a call to prayer at the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.”

Cali was incensed by the lesson and made it clear her son would not be completing it. …/

Saying it ain’t so don’t make it so… PS 101

Only 2 months ago, students may have been singing ‘school’s out’ but now it’s time once again for the back to school blues, which are as much for parents these days as for kids. Maybe it is out of that need to make kids enjoy it more that they are pushing even further in the direction of the perverted, under what they deem public education?

Who knows exactly, but parents aren’t thrilled at the curriculum in many areas.  That never stopped the big-government train from speeding along.  And they have plenty of special whistle stops planned for their trip.

Back To School: Soft Porn For 10 Year-Olds, Islam For Every Child, No Parental Rights & The Need To Opt Out

Educators have expressed: Children Don’t Belong to their Parents

Bethany Blankley September 8, 2015 | Western Journalism

This new school year under expansive Common Core curriculum and standards testing, children will have data collected by the government about behavioral and mental aptitude, not their test scores. No matter what a governor or state school board might claim, if the state receives federal money in any form, it is participating in data collection without parental consent. Parents have the constitutional right to opt out their child by filling out this form.

The Exodus Mandate is encouraging and providing resources for Christian parents to do more than opt out, but to exit the public school system altogether. Two excellent videos explain why.

Continue at Western Journalism: http://www.westernjournalism.com/back-to-school-soft-porn-for-10-year-olds-islam-for-every-child-no-parental-rights-the-need-to-opt-out/

Data mining and collection being only one of several areas of concern. Sex education to pervert them, and confuse sexual identity. Question what is a parent, or 1 and 2. (more to be added?)Defer to the central authority of the “school.”

So Islam-pimping lobbies want to teach our kids. They are doing so well with education over in the Mid-East, aren’t they? Where’s the prayer rugs and the arrows on the floor, just in case you forget which way to face? Inquiring minds want need to know.

What always amazes me is, with all this going on, how liberals can be as quiet as church mice about it. As if it were not happening. How do they restrain themselves? Then when approached they always have the standard, scripted answers.  No harm, no foul…just education in the 21st century, they say.  “Get over it,” they tell us. The greater good is looking badder and badder all the time. And we are labeled the crazy ones?

Then they will claim opt-out options are provided. But at what cost? The opt-out, in particulars or the entire public school, is not a real option for many people. Choice for abortions not for education.

Per author link:

The $632 billion the federal government spends each year on public school “education” is spent on education policy and curriculum that directly violates Constitutional protections.

Multiculturists and their tolerance agenda has no room for parents who oppose their program. We are quickly labeled extremists. Data collection we are just supposed to accept. “Trust us, the professionals.” All the data being pilfered with rampant hacking today and this is safe? They can teach sex education, but yet gender has no place in the program. We are all the same. But we’re old-fashioned or extremists.
We the people are the problem.

House Divided – 2: place your bets

[Pt #1]
Now leftist “progressives” want to cuckoofy anyone supporting traditions, values, founding principles, or our ability to speak up for them. Publicly or privately makes no difference. While those things are only reasonable to us, they turn even those ideas on their collective heads. So it’s a logical leap, to the left anyway, to plunge another step down the ladder to declare that any reluctance to support the LGBT agenda is either prejudiced or hate speech. Now they claim courage is best defined by Bruce Jenner in his sex change.

Never mind that for centuries we thought we knew how courage was defined. And dare you call courage something related to the military or war, or standing for freedom. Then the Left gets all bent out of shape at using the term courage toward soldiers. Use the term courage toward Chris Kyle, or American Sniper, and you get the ire of the left. How many other names or labels did they define him with?

Now it’s even gone another step lower on the integrity scale, to endorsing a field trip to a sex shop for middle school students. They will probably define that as a courageous stand — and no apology needed. Who do those parents think they are? What’s it to them?

A while back a public school teacher was compelled to apologize for having 5th grade kids send get well cards to a convicted cop killer in prison, and filling them in on his circumstances. But when she made her “apology,” people in the crowd yelled “you have nothing to apologize for”. Is that not revealing? Another thing to call courageous. People cannot even be outraged about that without getting attacked for their outrage.

But if you want to make a statement against police or call an entire police department or city “structurally racist,” be their guest and you’re applauded. No proof needed… surely you cannot deny it is. But when a Christian family criticizes leaking sealed reports about two under age victims for political purposes, then you are the bigot for complaining. The world, it seems, has been reversed and cranked to mach speed.

I posted an old report on Harry Reid taking an anti-illegal immigration stand in the early 90’s. Well, it seems hypocritical enough alone. But in the rhetoric Reid used lies the disturbing truth. Back then what Harry Reid was pushing in his bill was called “immigration reform”. He also took issue with the anchor baby policy. However, as evidenced in the last several years, the term immigration reform has been spun around to apply toward amnesty supporting illegal immigration, even open borders. See how the term changed? Democrats and Republicans are both guilty of the redefinition.

It turns out that things have reversed even in the past 20 years. So what was then considered “immigration reform” is now: “straight up racism. We want amnesty NOW!!! (and the votes that come with it) Borders are for bigots!” What happened? Anyone that can deny the change just isn’t living in this country.

Today doing something unconstitutional rallies applause. Calling a branch of government obsolete and irrelevant is in vogue. People demand more executive orders. Attack the Supreme Court in a SOTU address, bonus points and turn the attack into a campaign fundraiser. Years ago a national police would have been protested. Today progressives and activists demand the federal government take over the local police departments.

Take issue with the death of one person by cops and hold rallies in cities; shut down bridges, roads, traffic, or shopping centers at peak holidays. Hold marches chanting death to cops. Complain about police departments and politicize them. We saw how it works. Have mayors and officials tell cops to stand down while crowds loot and riot. Then ask the government for money to pay for damages. Tell store owners they should shut down and abandon their property. Pay for the political policies of leaders with the property of private store owners. Must be some form of reparations for slavery or something. Meanwhile, the slavery we are seeing is from thugs in the streets. HANDS UP…DON’T LOOT!

Finally, a stand-up comedian with a great reputation says the college campuses are too politicized, or politically correct, for his jokes. Yet an elitist political creature of Washington is paid 250,000 dollars to speak at Universities. No one bats an eye at that. Obama ran his campaign from Universities. The same colleges and Universities declare people speaking about Human Rights abuses are way too controversial for campuses and called trigger warnings. Organized anti-Semitic groups petition Universities to boycott Israeli students — persona non grata.

Protest a man be thrown out of Mozzila because he happens to hold traditional personal beliefs. A pizzeria makes a theoretical statement to not cater a fictional same-sex wedding and activists want it shut down, and threaten its owners. Don’t bake a cake for gay couple and you are shut down, hauled to court, threatened and defamed. Give to certain groups or try to support causes you agree with and you’re singled out if not by radicals as a bigot, potentially by a radicalized IRS. Sell the wrong legal merchandise in your store the government doesn’t like, wham you have big problems.

Try to start a 501-c3 to educate people and be attacked by mountains of regulations with bureaucrats from every alphabet agency of Government, which would make King George blush. Then the federal government seizes entire business accounts because it does not like your business. So do you ever hear liberals and progressives complain about these abuses or actions? You already know.

This is just a short list of examples. All have something in common. What once might have been taboo, perverse, abuse, harassment is now standard protocol. Want justice? Yea, they’ve sort of redefined that to proving your innocence first. King George would have been elated and rolling on the floor.

So the progressive left has big problems with people wanting to have some pride in our country and the rule of law, or its founding documents?

Sorry, I needed a new word – cuckoofy, I like it.

Tradition bites the dust on campus

BRAVE NEW SCHOOLS

Marriage at Notre Dame: From sacrament to sacrilege

Diana West covers university’s rejection of traditionalist student group
WND

The National Catholic Register broke the most shocking cultural news of the week:

“A group of students at the University of Notre Dame has generated a campus-wide controversy by advocating that marriage between one woman and one man is better suited for children than same-sex ‘marriage.’”

Welcome to campus controversy 2014, where the subversives are traditionalists and, as we will see, the subversives control the establishment.

The Register continued:

“The group – known as Students for Child Oriented Policy (SCOP) – elicited negative letters to the campus newspaper and prompted hundreds of students to sign a petition calling upon the university not to recognize it as an official campus club.”

What comes next may not be surprising, but it remains gasp-worthy: Notre Dame refused to recognize the group favoring what we now know as “traditional marriage” as an official campus club. Why? The administration offered a thin excuse, saying the new club would duplicate the mission of two other campus groups that promote Catholic doctrine – one of which, it turns out, hasn’t updated its website since 2005. Meanwhile, according to SCOP’s prospective president, Tiernan Kane, his group doesn’t identify itself with a specifically Catholic mission, coming together instead as a non-sectarian effort to “focus on public policy as it relates to issues that specifically affect children.”

The Register reported that planned club activities would have included “presentations on Common Core and Indiana education policy, marijuana’s effect on young people’s brains, the United Kingdom’s anti-pornography policy and the problems associated with no-fault divorce.” The club’s position that traditional marriage is good policy is what drew campus fire.

Diana West’s latest book, “American Betrayal: The Secret Assault on Our Nation’s Character” reveals jaw-dropping stories of treason you’ve never heard

There’s a lot here, so let’s take it from the top. First, we have just learned that on the campus of one of the leading Catholic universities in the country, the concept of same-sex marriage isn’t just popular, it’s entrenched to the point where it is controversial to prefer the traditional model – even to argue that heterosexual marriage is better social policy for children. In fact, the belief that a child is better off with a mother and a father rather than two mothers or two fathers is so unpopular that 630 students signed their names on a petition to prevent it from being promoted by an official campus club. As she eloquently points out, it is not so much that they disagree but the strength of disagreement to the point of silencing. And to do it in such unified lockstep that what once stood for principle is replaced by that which is driven by pure political correctness and ideology. Politics trumps tradition.

This was evident in the great Notre Dame protest in May, 2009. That’s when Notre Dame requested Obama come to speak, offering him a coveted honorary degree. Okay, but that was not their only offense. To understand Notre Dame’s heritage as a Catholic University is to understand the values consistent with that heritage. Chief among them is the issue of life which was foremost to many protestors. However, what happened in that process was what really outraged people, students and alumni.

It would be a given that protestors would come out against giving Obama such honorary status, as the most pro-abortion president that we’ve had. But the wrath of the University came down on the protestors. They tried to shut them down and had many protestors arrested and charged. Charges which pended long after the event.

Barack Obama did speak and received his doctorate. The university explained at the time that it was in the spirit of tolerance and diversity of opinion that it invited and honored him. Okay, but the intolerance and prosecution of protestors never dawned on them. See, they can use diversity and tolerance as convenient rationale, but then use outright silencing or banning techniques to suit political correctness.

CNN May, 2009

Addressing a sharply divided audience at the storied Catholic university, Obama conceded that no matter how much Americans “may want to fudge it … at some level the views of the two camps are irreconcilable.”

“Each side will continue to make its case to the public with passion and conviction,” he said. “But surely we can do so without reducing those with differing views to caricature.”

The commencement ceremony was boycotted by a number of graduates dismayed by the university’s decision both to tap Obama as its commencement speaker and to give him an honorary degree.

The president is a supporter of abortion rights and federally-funded embryonic stem-cell research — positions that are anathema to traditional Catholic teachings.

Note his words when he knew the controversy he created. He actually says views are irreconcilable but lectures (others presumably) not to reduce differing views to caricatures. Homophobes or “Bible thumpers” anyone? No, that is exactly what the left does patently when disagreeing with someone or a group who does not swallow their view. And they declare the “debate is over”. All following the same Alinsky tactics Obama practices.

Now we see in this episode those tactics in full display again, against the very traditions America was founded on. Have we moved that far from our social mores that we now repel anything related to our traditions? Those social mores cannot coexist with their agenda, in the Left’s world….and they aren’t meant to. The progressive Left is married to the political agenda, making their political correctness even worse, and renders all outside it obsolete.

So Obama’s words were just as disingenuous as ever. But it’s the Left who has reduced anything and everyone else to caricatures. Yet he is wrong again because on all levels the left is intolerant of views, not just on “some level”. But this is par for Obama to caution people against politicizing something while actively politicizing it himself.

Dep. of Injustice issues dictate to schools

Eric Holder Just Sent This Threatening Letter To All Public Schools

by B. Christopher Agee | Western Journalism

Along with the Department of Education, Eric Holder’s Justice Department is reminding public schools in no uncertain terms that they are obligated to provide all children with an education regardless of their immigration status.

In an apparent attempt to clarify existing guidelines, the federal government sent a letter to schools indicating the agencies are “aware of student enrollment practices that may chill or discourage the participation, or lead to the exclusion, of students.”

The letter emphasizes how loose the restrictions are regarding what type of documentation schools are required to accept, basically meaning there is no excuse for questioning why a child obviously in the country illegally is receiving taxpayer-funded schooling and/or child care.

“We want to be sure every school leader understand the legal requirements under the Constitution and federal laws,” the letter states, “and it is our hope that this update will address some of the misperceptions out there.”

One is hard pressed, however, to find any mention of the government’s responsibility to provide free education to criminal inhabitants within the structure of the U.S. Constitution. In any case, the letter goes on to spell out requirements in no uncertain terms.

“The message here is clear,” it read, “let all children who live in your district enroll in your public schools.”

Parents of children with only a foreign birth certificate are given ample leeway in providing alternative ‘documentation,’ including an entry in a family Bible, for instance.

Holder and other leftist leaders are determined to integrate illegals completely into society to the extent that actually holding them accountable for their crimes would not only be nearly impossible, but in itself an illegality.

Ensuring the next generation of criminals is indoctrinated within the public school system is one vital step in achieving that goal.

(CBS 5)”We want to be sure every school leader understands the legal requirements under the Constitution and federal laws, and it is our hope that this update will address some of the misperceptions out there,” said Secretary Arne Duncan in a statement. “The message here is clear: let all children who live in your district enroll in your public schools.”

Attorney General Eric Holder pledged to “vigilantly enforce the law to ensure the schoolhouse door remains open to all.” Any actions to put up barriers to student enrollment, “not only harm innocent children, they also markedly weaken our nation…by leaving young people unprepared and ill-equipped to succeed,” he said.

School censors parent upset over explicit book content

Dad handcuffed for protesting graphic-sex book

Cop takes action at school-board meeting

William Baer, a parent upset over a reading selection in Gilford, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when police said he did not leave a school board meeting after being asked.

A parent who complained about a book assigned to his daughter at Gilford High School in Gilford, New Hampshire, was arrested and taken away in handcuffs from a school board meeting for refusing to “be quiet” when repeatedly admonished by a board member.

William Baer, whose ninth-grade daughter last week was assigned the book “Nineteen Minutes,” came to the meeting to protest the book’s assignment and the district’s failure to notify parents the book contained graphic descriptions of “rough sex” between teens.

According to the Laconia Daily Sun, Baer challenged the board to read aloud the controversial portion of “Nineteen Minutes” during the meeting, but school officials refused.

Before speaking, Baer was told he had two minutes to speak.

Baer spoke beyond the time limit and sat down but then exchanged words with another parent who approved of the book.

“So what is the remedy here?” Baer asked.

The board said it would not take questions on the matter.

“Sir, would you please be respectful of the other people?” a school board member responded.

“Like you’re respectful of my daughter, right? And my children?” he countered.

“Please, be quiet,” admonished the board member.

A police officer then arrived at the scene, instructing Baer to leave with him.

“You are going to arrest me because I violated the two-minute rule?” the father said. “I guess you are going to have to arrest me.”

But Baer did get support from other parents.

Sarah Carrignan said, according to the Sun, that she was “‘utterly appalled that this was acceptable.”

“My son should never have had the book in his hand.”

Part of the problem was that when the book was used previously in the school, parents were notified and asked for permission for their children to participate.

The school this year didn’t notify parents until after students already were assigned the book and given access to the material.

Gilford Police Lt. James Leach, who was at the meeting, ordered Baer to leave the meeting and then handcuffed the parent. Reports say Baer was ticketed for disorderly conduct. MORE

H/T to Dave

Most people may have heard about it. If it was a school authorized book, then the school obviously purchased the books. So tax money is paying for objectionable material?

But wait, there was a similar story at WND, 08/04/2005. While not the exact same thing, the same narrative played out in Massachusetts .

Father faces trial over school’s ‘pro-gay’ book

Arrested after objecting to kindergartner’s reading material

A Massachusetts man faces a court trial over a dispute about the teaching of homosexuality in his son’s kindergarten class.David Parker, of Lexington, spent a night in jail and was charged with criminal trespassing after refusing to leave a scheduled meeting with school officials April 27, unless they gave him the option of pulling his child out of certain classes.

Parker says the officials had indicated they would agree to a notification policy then suddenly refused. He insists he has done nothing wrong and is willing to contest the charge rather than plea-bargain.

At a hearing Tuesday, Parker’s trial date was set for Sept. 21.

The Lexington School Board contends Parker deliberately set out to be arrested and make national headlines.

Parker’s attorney, Jeffrey Denner, rejected that claim as supporters picketed outside the courthouse.

The dispute began last spring when Parker’s then-5-year-old son brought home a book to be shared with his parents titled, “Who’s in a Family?” The optional reading material, which came in a “Diversity Book Bag,” depicted at least two households led by homosexual partners.

“There’s a larger issue here locally and nationally and internationally about the role of family and what kind of encroachments government can make into children’s and people’s lives,” Denner told reporters.

More http://www.wnd.com/2005/08/31618/

Now the treatment is virtually the same — even if the details are different. One in Massachusetts and the other in New Hampshire, years apart. But the message is the same to concerned parents: object to book content and you could get ‘booked’.

There is also another glaring contrast. That was the 9/11 Benghazi attack where they injected a video as a motive for it and violent protests in Egypt etc. Whether it was the cause of protests or not, they injected a video as a de facto cause, ran out publicly talking about it, then rounded up and arrested the guy who made it.

Notice how quick the federal government condemned the video content for being objectionable to Muslims or Islamists? But if you are a parent of a grade school or middle school kid where the content in a book and their handling of it is objectionable, they go after the parents for offending the school by criticizing the content. Off to jail for objecting to content. See how due process works?

Then throw in one more contradiction. The State Dep. and Obama wasted no time running out to condemn content of a video. But so many Christians have been killed and persecuted throughout the Middle East, with the worst violence and cleansing being committed. Yet silence comes from our government. No long speeches, dialogue or condemnation and criticism. Maybe speaking out would offend the persecutors? Now hundreds of girls are kidnapped, and the terrorists come out making threats about what they are going to do to them. Officials struggle to find the right words to condemn it.

But don’t worry, if parents object to content in the schools, they’re going to jail. The disparity could not be greater if it was intentional. Wait…

Students learn white voters rejected Obama due to race

St. Clair County 4th grade book says white voters rejected Obama because of race

DUPO, IL – Fourth graders in Dupo Illinois are reading a biography of Barack Obama that’s raising eyebrows among St. Clair County parents. The book, which supplements the school’s Common Core curriculum, blames television for the negative behaviors the first African-American president picked up as a teen:

The book – brought to the attention this week of those on the “Moms Against Duncan – MAD” Facebook page, goes on to say white Americans were hesitant to vote for a black president, and that Obama pushed the race issue to bring the nation together.

“But some people said Americans weren’t ready for that much change. Sure Barack was a nice fellow, they said. But white voters would never vote for a black president. Other angry voices were raised. Barack’s former pastor called the country a failure. God would damn the United States for mistreating its black citizens, he said.”

More at Illinois Review

Surprise, what change they got! Bringing people together? He doesn’t seem to be so confused about who he is now.

Barry Soetoro or Barack Obama can’t take any personal responsibility for what he did years ago, so how could he ever take any responsibility for what he currently does in office? They might have included some of that sentiment in their propaganda curriculum. They could call it critical thinking.

NYC schools give out morning-after pills to students — without telling parents

The Department of Education is giving morning-after pills and other birth-control drugs to students at 13 high schools, The Post has learned.

School nurse offices stocked with the contraceptives can dispense “Plan B” emergency contraception and other oral or injectable birth control to girls without telling their parents — unless parents opt out after getting a school informational letter about the new program.

CATCH — Connecting Adolescents To Comprehensive Health — is part of a citywide attack against the epidemic of teen pregnancy, which spurs many girls — most of them poor — to drop out of school.
